Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Sayonara

~Sora Saeko POV~

"Oh Sora I want that!"

The child jumped up and down happily as they waltzed through the market after changing out of their soaked outfits. He tugged at the males sleeve beside him.

"Okay calm down. I'll get you the teddy bear okay!"

I chuckle at his antics looking at where he was pointing at.

On the shelf of one of the shops sat a large plush bunny. One wear you had to hit all the cans to win it.

The I rolled up the sleeves of my white t shirt from under my black cloak.

I walked up to the shopkeeper.

"Can I play for 1 game for two people."

The owner lit up like a light bulb.

"Of course sir!"

I grabbed the balls. Handing some to August, Although I doubted he had the strength to hit all of them, actually any of them. Well he was young. I just wanted him to have some fun.

A determined found it's way to his adorable face.

He pushed his arm back.

'He might actually do it!'

And threw it to not even reach where the cans were situated.]

He pouted childishly.

"I can do it!"

He kept throwing it. Each time getting worser until he was puffed out.

I laugh heartily to see him flop on the floor. I pat his head.

"Don't worry I got this!"

Only for me to do just as bad.

I payed for another round.

After spending about 2 silver did I finally get it.

An accomplished smile appeared on my face as I wiped my sweating brow.

The shop owner seemed extremely pleased at all the money I spent.

'What a waste of cash! At least he's happy."

I turned to said male who hugged the oversized plush adorably.

'Kyaa! *Kawaii!'

*Meaning adorable/cute in Japanese

I felt a tug at my sleeve once again.

"L-Let's get a picture taken. So I can remember you."

'To sweet! Where did this angel come from. The villain must have been crazy to have taken him hostage!'

'Alright let's go.'

As we head to the painter I notice a jewelry shop. A certain locket gaining my attention.

It was gorgeous. It would be perfect from him!

"Why don't we go get something first."

I grab his hand gently in my own and walk over to the jewelry shop.

"What can I get for you sir!"

"Could I get two of those lockets please mam."

"Of course handsome sir."

I chuckle as she wraps up the necklaces before handing them to me.

"Thank you so much. Here's the cash."

She hums in response handing me back my change.

We head back towards the where the painter was situated.

"What'd you get Sora-san."

"It's a secret."

I wink playfully.

It was soon our turn and we got our portrait done. I obviously had to wear a mask as to not expose myself but it all ended good.

I had asked for two smaller copies to place inside the lockets.

I look up to the sky.

'It's already noon, it'll turn dark soon...'

"Close your eyes for a sec August."

He nods. I place the golden locket around his neck.

"Open your eyes now!"

His eyes immediately stare at the necklace. He squeals cutely. I smile fondly.

"We're matching."

I put my own one on. His eyes sparkle like the most gorgeous jewels.

The sunset casted a long shadow and seemed to make the child radiate a gentle warmth.

I clutch at my heart.

'It's time. I'll need to call a carriage. It was nice while it lasted...'

I stared back at the gleaming child.

I couldn't bare to look him directly in the eyes. Or else he might notice my expression.

-------------------

The doors of the vehicle closed. As if separating two halves that made a whole split. As if they were meant to never be. Both from different worlds.

"*Sayonara...."

*Meaning goodbye in Japanese

"Sayonara!? B-But! Why.!"

The child slammed on the door. Holding all the gifts he had obtained during the day.

A bunny and a locket. Holding a picture of the two inside.

"Because I promised to let you go. I held you longer then intended! Don't you hate me after everything I've done. I literally tortured you! Please don't make this any harder to do."

The other male sobbed as he turned on his heels facing away from the vehicles door. As to hide his crying face and from looking at the child he had gotten attached too.

"But this is worse! I-I don't want to say goodbye. I want to have more fun!"

The tears of the child burst forth like water from a dam, spilling down his face.

The incubus felt the muscles of his chin tremble as he looked toward the sky, as if the light could soothe him. He heard the distressed cries of the child he had only been with for a few days but it broke his heart.

"This isn't our final goodbye.'

His long locks of black hair whipped behind him violently. As a brilliant smile was worn on his tear stained face.

He placed his forehead on the cold glass. The child also doing the same as he chocked back a sob.

He looked up with a determined face wiping away the snot.

"I'll find you no matter how long it takes. I'll be a man worthy to stand by your side!..."

The wheels of the carriage soon travelled across the rubble ground. Disappearing slowly into the distant.

The incubus waving his hand.

'Sayonara. For now, my dear August. Saying goodbyes are always the hardest.'

A strong gust of wind blew the robe hood off and the mask.

The guards instantly notice the wanted criminal wanted all over the country.

His eyes widen a fraction. Hurrying the coachman.

"Now go!"

The male managed to see the panic of the child within the carriage.

But didn't have time to comfort him as he flee in the opposite direction to the castle.

'Can't let them catch him! What bad luck, when can I catch a damn break! First my flags already had been set in stone and now this! Will I ever get away!? I can only depend on myself!' August please be safe!'
