Maya's POV
I can feel the loud thumping of my heart as we made our way to the hospital. Benedict was looking at the road while he keeps on stealing glances at me, and I wonder if he hears the fast beating of my restless heart. Yes, I admit I am naturally a law-abiding citizen, ever since I was a young girl. That is why I am the teachers' favorite during my elementary years through high school. Even though Adonis hurt me countless times during our younger years, I felt that he was good at heart. And I always believe that people have goodness inside their hearts, and we all deserve a second chance in everything.
