Chapter 2 - Arc 0.1: Love By Blood

The forest stood like little soldiers on the horizon. The night sky, filled with stars, illuminating the side of the cliff which lent of the forest canopy like a stone giant. The black trees swayed gently in the evening breeze while the moon watched over.

A few sounds could be heard in the canopy. There were rustles in tress and the occasional howl. The noise kept the atmosphere alive all a while everyone slept, the forest remained awake and in there, deep inside is a little city awakening

The breeze blew warm announcing the coming of summer's hottest days. The aroma of the tall grasses were an intoxicating perfume and the starry night above was a painting more sublime than any man could create. The clarity above became reflected in the handsome males mind that was a like a polished mirror. Clear and still.

The peerless male's delicate fingers ran threw the soft and silky snow white fur of his cat that purred in satisfaction. It rubbed it's cheek against it's owner who adored very much.  The scene was simply adorable. Although it was with a grown man with his cat.

A chuckle left the man's lips, it sounded like the music of rills. One would be surprised to see how this man acted. His usually aloof and cold personality had been thrown out the window, no where to be seen.

On the table next to him was a glass of tea, the sweet scent wafted through the air. Giving a calming effect. The godly looking male was reading a book silently. A gentle smile formed on his face as he chuckled. The white cat of his was prancing around trying to attract it's masters attention.

This is when he was most calm, just him and his lovable cat out drinking tea accompanied by sweets on the balcony. Staring up at the night sky. This is where he found his peace. How he wished it could last forever. But that is impossible,. It is inevitable to face challenged throughout life. It is not always bad though as you can use obstacle to help repel you forward.

With a contented smile the handsome male snuggled with his adorable white cat and shut his eyes. Enjoying the peace while it lasted. He listened to the owl chirping in the background along with the sound of rustling trees.

--------------------------------------------

The warm ball of light filtered through his thin eyelids awakening him. Rays of brightness cast squares onto the glossy stone floor, reflecting onto several objects in the room which decorated its otherwise simplicity.

The yolk sun poured through the cracks in the blinds. The half-awake male burrowed himself in the warm, soft sheets like a nestling bird. Nian Zhen's long eyelashes fluttered open as he had awoken from his sleep slumber. Although he hadn't slept much he didn't looked tired at all, his eyes free of the dark circles that should be there. His skin smooth and without blemishies.

Nian rubbed the remainder of his sleep from his eyes and his ruby red eyes gazed out at the horizon; it's vivid lights extended the rosy sky.

The sun blooms on the horizon, golden petals stretching ever outwards into the rich blue. It is the brilliant flower of the sky that warms our days. It is the invitation to a new day, that sunrise so ordinary extraordinary.

Under the sunrise, the apples glowed more rosy than they do in the dayshine. The branches of each tree spread out as if so proud of the bounty they brought and sweetness given within each one. It was a party of colours, of chaos and order, of a beauty that sprung from simple seeds blessed with mud and rain.

This is what the CEO of Interstellar technology would do every morning. Take a moment to find peace in himself as he would be busy for the rest of they day. It seemed that he had waken up earlier then usual.

A yawn escaped Nian's rosy red lips as he stretched his lean body, his shirt lifting up slightly showing his firm tan abs. The bed creaked as he slowly rose. The handsome male went on with his daily routine which consisted of brushing his pearly white teeth and bathing.

He put on his suit that was free of wrinkles. The business suit was as crisp as a new banknote and dyed to a uniform shade of black. Above white collar line it was as if his face had been fashioned from those inky dots. It was early so Nian decided to take a quick stroll.

He had some time left on his hand and it the weather was nice today. So why not take this rare opportunity to get some fresh air.

He sauntered through his flower garden and greeted the gardener. Who was a wonderful, nice and caring old lady.

She had raised Nian at a young age and he is eternally indebted to her. Nian's parents neglected him at least there was someone there for him which he is grateful for.

Although he said she could retire and he would give her money but the elder insisted no. The grey haired women seem to love her job and Nian. The gardener treated him like a human being and would always show a gentle smile.

Be there when he needed a helping hand and most of all was a true friend to him. Age didn't matter, they could converse with each other as if the two had been friend for a life time.

After the morning greeting he continued his peaceful stroll. He looked at his large magnificent mansion with a small smile. Ivy and ferns grew through the crevices of the old winding stone path, which led directly to the colossal structure.

The mansion loomed proudly behind creaky iron gates, flanked by rows of skeletal trees crowned in crimson, swaying gently to the chilly autumn wind. At its threshold stood the delicate marble fountain, the soft gurgling of the clear water melodic as it resonated in the surrounding silence.

A field of flowers surrounded the place he called home. The wind gently blew on the handsome male who had a soft plastered on his usually stone face. He placed one of his large palms onto his hair that was being tossed by the breeze. The blazing ball of light shine on his lone figure. Nian's eyes closed as he went into deep thought.

His father who was the CEO of a famous company named 'Interstellar Technology' passed down the company to him. Instead of Nian's older brother, Lang Zhen.

This seemed to anger Lang as he felt that position rightfully belonged to him. But Nian's father disagreed as his youngest son was wild, reckless, selfish and spoiled.

This is where their family began to crumble. Nian's mother and father became distant, there was no love in their relationship. It was merely for business, power and for show. Lang became a rowdy gangster leaving his brother alone.

They used to be a harmonious family that many would envy but know it was ruined. Nian wondered if it had been his fault. If he wasn't born then maybe his brother wouldn't end up like how he is currently and the family would be together. Although no one specifically said he was at fault the looks he was given was enough to tell him everything.

Although Nian refused on several times his was always answered with a stern "No, you have to be my heir". Nian was only 10 when he was told him. He had to undergo a cruel and tedious program. The hammered so many things into his small brain. On many occassions he would cry late into the nioght until he couldn't open an eye due to how red and puffy it was.

Every time he would try to talk to his brother a cold shoulder was given to him. This really effected Nian as a kid, he was still pure and innocent. When his father had passed away it was written in his will for Nian to become the heir. Only he would take over and get all the inheritance. No money was given to his brother or even his mother.

When he stood in the room filled with adults all stares were directed at him whether they were filled with greed or pity. At this moment he realised there was no use in relying on others. At least he had his kind nanny, this helped him immensely. Who knows where he would be today, maybe a broken and worthless doll.

There were some casulties. During the funeral for their father Lang beated Nian up until he was knocked unconcious. The frail body lay on the floor motionless bearly breathing. His brother on the other hand reeked of alchohol. Who knows where he had came from, a bar or pub maybe even a club. But no one dare question the wild child.

The glass bottle in his hand smashed due to how hard he gripped it. Glass shards flew everywhere. The shards shimmered in the sunlight for a few seconds before crashing to the floor. Lang's palm was cut but the glass but he was unfazed. He looked at his younger brother with a dead pan face, but if one looked closely you could see his was shivering slightly.

The funeral was a disaster, paradmedics rushed in and saved Nian just in time. He went into a coma for one month. it could have been muck worse, people considered him lucky. Nian learn that the more powerful and rich someone is the more dangerous it is as other people would be after his life. With that the young CEO decided to train his body to protect himself.

After that incident Lang destroyed all contact with his younger brother. but not before stealing some valuable items such as their late fathers gold watch and so on.

As Nian grew older he had some suspicions about his brother, such as all the assassination attempts. All evidence points to Lang. It pained Nian's heart to know his own flesh and blood hated him so much that he wanted him dead. But what could do about it, he was helpless when it came to his brother. Although he was hated he never forgot to send an money to him. Which was probably used on drugs and sex

Nian hopes that one day his brother would treat him like family. Or at least say hello and hug him. Was that too much to ask for or had he commitied some sort of sin that was unforgiveable.  No matter how hard Nian tried to think of what he did wrong nothing came to his mind. Where did it all go wrong?

The handsome male snapped out of his thoughts. The sun was now hanging proudly in the baby blue sky. Nian crouched down carressing a vibrantr red rose, one could tell it had been taken care of well. The CEO held it as if it were a child, touching it with his long delicate fingers. the air was prefumed with flowers. Flowers danced gail in the breeze, a myraid if vibrant colours.

Nian checked his gold watch that was worn snuggly on his pale skin, it would have cost a fortune. It was about time to leave. After making sure his hair was styled well and his suit was free of wrinkles he left, but not before taking a look back at the pristine garden. With a small smile he left, his jacket fluttering in the wind as his figured slowly disappeared off into the distance.
