"I'm really so sorry about earlier. Were you hurt anywhere?" Heejung asked as she looked at Ye Beom from head to toe, with a worried expression on her face.
"No, I am alright. Really!" Ye Beom laughed off.
"I'm glad then." Heejung paused, as she hesitated to ask Ye Beom a question.
"I can see that you are curious about something. You may ask me about it thou." Ye Beom figured out as she beamed Heejung a bright smile.
"I just noticed. You are… wearing, uhmm… a hospital gown." She stammered, "Do you mind if I ask, what happened?"
Ye Beom looked at her clothes, "Oh, these? Hahaha. Well, long story—short, they found me on a cliff at Ganghwa-do." She laughed off.
"What made it a long story is that, I'm from Seoul, and there's not even one recollection in my memory of what happened before I got there." Ye Beom continued, still smiling as if nothing serious happened.
"Oh. Oh my. I-I… I'm sorry, how are you now then?" Heejung stuttered upon hearing the situation. "Were you heavily injured?"
"Oh! Hahaha, no, no, no. I wasn't, but I had a hard time moving my head when I first woke up." She responded, placing her right hand on her nape. "Well, at least I can go around like this now, right?"
"Yeah, I think you're right." Heejung giggled as she agreed. "So, where will you be going?"
"Hmm, nowhere in particular. I just wanna take a walk, y'know?" Ye Beom shrugged with a smile.
"Then, you wouldn't mind if I join you with your 'walk', right?" Heejung emphasized, returning the smile back to Ye Beom.
"Actually, that'll be great!" Ye Beom chimed. "So, can I ask you about why you're here too? Visiting someone?" She asked as she glanced over Heejung.
PING! PING! PING!
Sound of the bombarding notifications coming from her phone.
'Must be piled up text. Pft.' Ye Beom chuckled as she watched Heejung typing angrily on her phone.
"Arghhh, this spoiled brat! Really?!" Heejung snapped as she squeezed her phone real hard, then suddenly realized that she was with Ye Beom. "Oh… Ahahaha?"
She laughed. Embarrassed, she scratched her head.
"You looked quite riled up, aren't you?" Ye Beom joked.
"Oh God. I surely am, my younger brother is giving me a teeeeeerrible headache." Seo Heejung ranted as she waved her head in mockery, sneaking her phone back into her pocket.
"Must be tough?" Unsure, Ye Beom inquired.
Ye Beom waited for Heejung's reply as they continued to walked until they reach the end of the 8th floor. They both stared at the wide window, revealing the wholeness of the city's view.
Heejung took a deep breath and muttered, "No. Perhaps, it is the other way around." She paused as a faint smile appeared on her lips.
"It must have been tough for him." Her eyebrows drawing a line together, then she looked at Ye Beom, sadness was hidden deep inside her eyes.
Ye Beom turned around, dragging her dextrose stand, "Haaah, you're there for him, right? He'll get through it."
"One just need to lend a hand, and one just need to take it without hesitation." Ye Beom stated.
< "Oh goodness gracious! Princess?! What are you doing sitting there?!" It was a voice of a lady. The princess looked up to find who it was.
Princess Ye Beom immediately flashed a forced smile; "Oh... it was you..." She responded. >
"Just like Lady Joo-In did—" She was at the middle of her sentence when she stopped. Her eyes widening.
"Lady Joo-in? Your friend?" Heejung asked.
"Ah… huh? Joo-In?" Ye Beom faltered. Her eyes still widened.
"Yes? Why, is there something wrong?" The worried Heejung walked to her.
"N-no, I'm fine… It's just that… I kept on saying and blurting out… some random names." Ye Beom stammered, her eyes busy as she thinks through all of it. "… I don't even know to myself anymore.'
Heejung gasped upon hearing, "Did you… perhaps suffered from, amnesia?"
"They've already ran a test. And the result will be on, hmm… Saturday? I guess? Or maybe earlier than that?" Ye Beom responded.
"On Saturday? Hmm, today is Tuesday, so… October 27, 28, 29, 30. Oh October 31?" Heejung counted with her candle-like fingers.
"Was there 31 on October this year?" The unsure Ye Beom asked.
"As I have thought. I really should look at my calendar." Then they both giggled.
"Oh, there really is 31 on this year's October." Ye Beom stated, amused.
"I know right. Actually, I wasn't sure myself, when I counted the date from Tuesday to Saturday." Heejung replied.
Ye Beom sighed, "I wonder what the results will be."
Heejung only stared at Ye Beom as she studied her expression. She looked away immediately when she found herself staring too long, and said;
"Everything will be alright.", Heejung fixed her gaze straight ahead. Though she can see from her peripheral vision that Ye beom was staring at her.
"…Is what I wanted to tell you. But I am in no position to tell you that. Nor do I know what you're been going through." Heejung continued, still looking straight ahead, as her walking phase gets a bit faster.
"However, I have this feeling that…you can do it, Ye Beom." Then she turned around, her mouth turning into a bright smile.
'Ahhh… this feeling. When did I… felt this? This seems so familiar.' Ye Beom thought as she adored the dazzling frame of Heejung, smiling at her. Unable to utter a word, she simply smiled back at Heejung.
"Should I bring you back to your room?" She asked.
"But, aren't you supposed to go somewhere when you bumped on to me?" Ye Beom chuckled, thinking that Heejung must have forgot about her plans.
"Oh, that? I really wasn't going anywhere. I just got pissed off of my mom, and went storming out of the room." She said with an embarrassed smile.
Ye Beom stared at Heejung blankly for quite a moment, but then broke into laughter. She held her right hand up to her chin as she continued laughing. Her stomach starting to ache.
"Haaah, that was… that was so, relatable. To be honest, haha…", She paused, then slowly, her smile faded. "…when things' gets complicated on my plate, I just tend to runaway from it. And if not…"
Ye Beom gave Heejung a look, that conveyed her inner feelings. She was hurting. She let out a deep sigh then shrugged, "…I… haaah, I receive other people's hatred, for making a decision by myself."
Heejung felt sorry for Ye Beom as she empathized with her, "We are pretty much alike, aren't we? I do the same way as you do, and receives the same treatment too."
"How ironic—" They muttered in unison again, then they looked at each other.
"Hahahahahaha." Heejunng and Ye Beom shared their laughters.
"Wow, that was soooo in sync, right?" The amused Ye Beom marveled, wiping the tears from the corner of her eyes from laughter.
"Yeah, I know right?" Heejung beamed.
Just then, when Ye Beom and Heejung walked past by the elevator, Ye Beom's dextrose got tangled on the plant's tiny branch in front of it.
"Oh, ouch!" Ye Beom hissed, as she felt the pain of the needle that was moved when the cord got tangled on the tiny branch.
"Why? What happened?" Heejung asked as she turned around to see.
"I don't know either. The dextrose just got tangled up with this little fella over here." Ye Beom explained. "Wow, the needle inside stings a lot, thanks to this dextrose." She clicked her tongue.
"Wait let me help you. Don't move too much, look there's already blood on the—"
~Elevator SFX [8th Floor]
Heejung wasn't able to finish her sentence as she was startled by the sound of the elevator. She flinched. And when the elevator's door opened, she met the only person's eye inside the elevator. They both stared at each other. Then slowly, the man's eyebrows drew together as his forehead creased;
"You look stupid.", Was the words that came out from his smirking lips.
