"You guys have never met her because she travelled out of the country for something personal," Charlie, who was able to buy time for himself, said with confidence.
"Really? Then when is she coming back?" Stephanie asked, her gaze glued on the guy whose identity she has been suspicious about.
"Since you said she travelled out for personal business, I am sure you should know when she will come back since she is your girlfriend, right?" Stephanie asked when Charlie didn't speak.
"I... I...," Charlie stutter, not knowing what to say. At that moment he felt like slapping himself so hard on the face for not being well prepared.
"Steph, let's go upstairs so you could get changed," Gabrielle said, moving away from Charlie. From merely staring at her expression, one could tell that she wasn't interested in the conversation anymore.
