"Yes, I don't see a reason I should stay away from Gabrielle and Gabriel just because their mum thinks I am not good enough for them," Stephanie said seriously. Her level of comportment irks Mrs Adams.
"Are you acting this way because I didn't make an offer to you? Name your price, and I will pay you in full right this minute," Mrs Adams said removing a cheque from her handbag.
What does she take me for? A beggar or one who is hungry for money?
Stephanie thought staring at the woman who has started scribbling something on the cheque.
"Since you seem afraid to tell me the price, here is a blank cheque with my signature on it, write whatever amount you want," Mrs Adams said stretching her hand to give Stephanie the cheque.
"Just a reminder, the moment you accept this cheque you have automatically agreed to move out of the City," Mrs Adams said seriously.
