At first, Gabrielle hesitated to play the video even after sitting like she wanted. She stared at Vincent's face and then Frederick's. Their expressive faces gave her the confidence she needed to overcome her fears.
"Hello there, best friend. By this time I am sure you must be super mad at me. I wouldn't be surprised if you were cursing me deep down in your heart. I guess I deserve it, don't you agree with me?" Stephanie's melodic yet playful voice came on as soon as she played the voice message.
Gabrielle paused the audio and tried to calm her excited heart down. Although she was mad at Stephanie for leaving just like that, she was thrilled to hear her voice again.
Merely listening to her voice was as if she was in the room with them.
"Of course, I am super mad at you silly girl or what were you expecting?" Gabrielle scolded. She quickly wiped the drop of tears that had fallen onto her palm.
