"If you have never asked her, how can Stephanie not telling you about her identity be considered a lie?" Kelly challenged him in a cold voice.
"And never for once has she posed as a threat to you or your family. Instead, she protected all of you in the best way she could in secret, can such selfless acts be considered betrayal?" Charlie added in a calm tone.
Jennifer moved forward from where she stood. She bent and held Stephanie's freezing hands which had grown even paler.
"She went against me and the advice of everyone who wanted nothing but the absolute best for her," Jennifer said tenderly as she caressed Stephanie's hand with affection-filled eyes.
"If there is one crime Stephanie is guilty of, it is loving you to the point of stupidity. You have no right to judge or condemn her love for you," Jennifer retorted, her eyeballs cold as the winter's breeze.
