Ursula stared miserably at her mirror. She observed how her stomach was rolled down in lumps, looking terribly saggy from the sides. She poked her finger into a roll, then saw it disappear behind all the other rolls. She sucked a water-filled breath, but then spat out the water when she saw the move only caused her double chin to look more pronounced. In frustration and nearly tearful anger, Ursula smashed her fist into the mirror, leaving harsh cracks.
I'm not crying, she thought, grinding her teeth.
Morgana's back was facing her, and was studying a book on spells, and she couldn't help but envy how she could fit into almost any place. Ursula was the favorite, it was true. But when it came to looks, Morgana often outshone her.
Not anymore, Ursula thought. I will be the best, both inside and out.
Ursula observed her small crab. She took it, and though she was tempted to bite one of his legs, she opened her window, and let the crab out.
Eli looked at her curiously, but said nothing.
Ursula suspected he must have spotted a hint of sadness on her face, because his looked slightly confused and concerned. No. Concerned wasn't the word. It was....perturbed. This struck Ursula as odd, but quickly forced the emotionless look she had always practiced on her face.
Ursula swept the covers shut, then decided to exercise.
"I'm going to sleep." Morgana announced.
Perfect.
Ursula crawled up the walls of their room, heaving and puffing with effort, her arms aching.
She did this for about half an hour, then moved on to push ups.
Ursula stretched out her 3 of her tentacles in front of herself, close to her chest, then did the same with the other three in the back. She straightened her back, and was able to do this for several hours, the throbbing in her abdomen, shoulder, tentacles, and arms not an issue because of the pain Ursula was already accustomed to.
I guess that's an advantage to having a psycho mother, mused Ursula as she smelled the musty, dank smell of tiredness around and on her tentacles.
Finally, Ursula passed out.
A few minutes later, Ursula woke up and dragged herself to her bed, satisfaction within herself as she spotted red lines on her wrists, then drifted off to sleep.
