"Man... this town is so stressful. I just want to eat my food in peace." Riko mumbled, almost teary eyed while looking at his plate full of foods.
"Well... that's the beauty in this town. After this I assume that another celebration will be held! The villagers will bring more treasures!" Marcus replied then loudly cackled. His eyes screamed greed as he did that which made me shiver. Riko seemed to like the idea as his eyes began twinkling.
"A-Another feast? I like that!"
"Then what are we waiting for?" Marcus asked then they all looked at me, "So? Who's going to stay here with here?" he asked which made me furrow my brow.
"What? No! I'm going to fight too!"
"You can't! You're injured!" Leonard shouted which made me flinch. I clenched my jaw and exchanged glares with him before removing the cloth that is wrapped around my injures arm. Their eyes widened as they saw my arm undamaged. Not even a scar was left in my arm, as if nothing happened.
"See? Now, let's go! I want to know more about my past." I said as I stood up. They just simply nodded and we all exited the cabin.
"Are you sure that we're going to have a feast after this?" I heard Riko asked Marcus.
"Yes! They do that all the time!" Marcus proudly said.
"And that's the reason why you chose this town." Leonard whispered but I think I'm the only one who heard it.
As we arrived at the shelter, we saw a group of men in dark cloaks.
"Finally! The ruler's here. I believe that you stole something from us, Marcus."
"You must be mistaken! I just claimed what's rightfully ours. After all, you lost, right?" the man just grinned and gestured something. Another man approached while dragging a villager by its neck.
"No! No! Please spare me! Please! Save me!" he wailed as he saw us. The man grabbed the villager and placed his sword on the villager's neck which made the villager wail and struggle even more.
"How about another negotiation?" the man asked.
"There's nothing to negotiate anymore. As I said, I just claimed my prize." Marcus replied which made the man chuckle. What? That's like giving the villager up!
"You're really that greedy huh? Willing to give up a villager just to keep that treasure." Marcus snickered because of what the man said. 'Exactly!'
"I don't care about them. I just want their treasure." he replied which made me more annoyed. I clenched my fist as I tried to calm my self. I don't even know who I should punch at this point. That man? Or this greedy bastard?
"Then maybe we should start the sacrifice." the cloaked man replied and started to slowly slice the villager's neck. My eyes widen as the struggling villager slowly went limp. His blood gushed out of his neck before his neck rolled to the ground.
I felt that something inside of me snapped and I immediately rushed towards the cloaked man grabbing his own neck. When we both fell to the ground, the other raiders swarmed around us. Before they can even touch me, they all fell to the ground. Then I saw Leonard and Noah, both drenched in blood while breathing heavily. While Marcus is just staring at us with Riko hiding behind his back. The audacity of those cowards!
The man's eyes widened as he saw his dead men. Leaving him alone, cornered and defenseless.
"K-kill me no-now! I do not c-care." he said almost choking at his words as my grip tightened around his neck. When I see that he's about to get unconscious I quickly loosened my grip and let him fall to the ground. He immediately gasped for air as he fell.
"Kill him!" Marcus shouted but I just ignored him and walk passed him.
"We need to kill him! Before he comes back here with an army or something!"
"Then kill him if it will satisfy your greedy soul." I mumbled which made him kinda mad. He grabbed his sword and walked towards the cloaked man. The cloaked man grinned at him.
"Well, look what we have here. The coward who's once again going to claim the victory that's nev—" the man didn't finish his words as Marcus pierced his sword in his throat.
"Wow... what a show. I thought Leonard is the only violent one in here." I yelled in the most dramatic way that I can. Then he chuckled.
"Don't act as if you're the purest one in here, even though you're a goddess it doesn't mean that you don't have a hidden motive." I was about to reply but the villagers exited the shelter.
"I-is it true? You don't care about us?" a child asked.
"Of course! That's not true! It's just a trap so that the raider will get caught off guard. See? He's already dead! I killed him!" Marcus answered and pointed at the dead man.
At first the villagers seemed skeptical but in the end, they all cheered for Marcus.
"I told you that this will be the perfect village that we can rule. But you still chose that demon over me." Marcus sneered and grinned at me before he left the shelter with the cheering villagers.
"Let's just leave this place." I told Leonard and gestured him. He simply nodded and we started walking towards the cabin.
"Good idea! Then you can stop by my town!" Noah said as he walked with us. Riko looked puzzled and stared at us then stared back to Marcus and the villagers.
"In the end, that guy still chose the food over us, hm? Well, he even crossed four towns just to get here. Why am I even surprised?" I looked at Noah with a curious expression in my face.
"His town is the furthest town. The Tahandi. As Marcus stated earlier, Aiclandia has seven towns and seven rulers. The fourth, fifth and sixth town's rulers aren't here. Olsen from Welza said he's too lazy, and I don't know fifth and sixth's reasons. I don't care. It's probably because of personal reasons." I nodded at everything that he said. So, I'm going to meet three more people? And judging by the name "Olsen", the ones that I'm going to meet are my exes from the parallel world...
