ACE'S POV
I eventually turn around. I see no-one. I am pretty sure I heard someone shouting "Hey!" over and over again. It sounded like someone desperately asked for help. Well then, I must have misheard. Although it's bizarre, I set off to the soccer ground.
I arrive at the field. A lot of girls from other high schools come running at me. It's not that extra special and unusual anymore.
Omg! You are so perfect. I am a huge fan. I like it when you play ball.
I am sick and tired of letting these compliments get into my ears. I line up for the match to get started.
"Best of luck." They scream. I wave my hands to them. They start fighting over who I waved at. DUH.
The game begins. I pass the ball to my teammate. I never, under any circumstances play or aim to play by myself. It's a game just like life. You won't win or succeed until you share sorrow and happiness with others. There's nothing like living and eating alone. To be happy and carefree, You need to have people in your life. Yes, there might be a time in our life when we'll have to live alone. But it is just for time being. Once that "Once in a lifetime" ends, we should get back to construct a social circle. Or have that one special someone.
After a while, the match finishes. I won and it's not surprising. That's what happens every day. One of the players throws a towel at me. I step out of the soccer ground. Right after I get out, all of the pretty girls sitting on bleachers and cheering for me the whole time, come rushing towards me. They shower me with compliments and treat me with a water bottle with water in it, of course. I am now encircled by every single girl.
I am thanking all the girls for the gifts. Unexpectedly, Someone thrusts all the girls out of the way. I can't see who the person is because it's too crowded. When all the girls themselves, make way and shift away from so that they don't get hurt, My eyes see her. It's her again. It's Anna the Bitch and Witch. She saunters to approach me. It feels like we're leads in a drama. The way she is rambling in a slow and relaxed manner in her bright red heels. We both deserve background music.
"We meet again." She draws nearer to me.
I am lost. I am lost in her eyes. Despite all the evil things she had done to me, I must be so stupid to set my eyes on her. She is beautiful. I didn't realize it back then. What the heck? What do I think I am doing? After all those stupid gazings and whatever, I speak back with confidence.
"What are you here for?" I allow my chin to be up. I am so done with her. I don't want me to get hurt and leave my mom beside weeping for me.
She smirks at me. She has a sly smile on her face. Everyone is talking behind our backs.
"Are they dating? She must be his ex."
"I thought, you were dead." I have no idea if she is being sarcastic or what. Where does that confidence come from? It is just so terrifying.
"What do you want?" I interrupt her.
"You."
"Leave. Get lost." I ditch her. What's up with that "You"? I can sense her motive. She probably wants to make a fool outta me.
I walk out of the field rubbing my sweaty neck with a towel. It could be that she has never been ditched. It's her first time. How does it feel, Anna? She looks fixedly at me. My rude words left a dangerous frown on her face. Her scowl seemed permanent until she begins to follow me.
"Hey." I ignore her and continue to stroll my way towards the changing room of the building located alongside the soccer field.
"Wait up, you jerk." She is still after me. I can tell how furious she is through her clumsy, noisy, and power walk. I somehow take a quick look. To all intents and purposes, I was right and also wrong. Her scary frown is back. It must be painful to walk in heels which I don't give a sh*t about. Nobody is literally asking her to chase after me. What does she expect when she shows up out of nowhere and states that she wants me. Was she hoping for me to say something like, "Oh sure, I'll give you all of me. You want me? Omg, that's so cute, I am yours already. Hehe. Haha." What the actual f*ck?
I want to get rid of her so badly. But It's fine. She won't be that stubborn to enter the male's changing room...Right? Anyway, she is still following me. I do a speedy run and quickly get inside the changing room. Just when I am closing the door, She propels the door with her feet and breaks in. She got some strength. I am impressed. But wait! Did she actually follow me to the changing room?
"Do you have a death wish?" She wraps her waist with her arms and breathes heavily, bending her head.
"Get out." I have my arms folded with a rude expression all over my face.
"Why would I? She walks closer to me. Or maybe too close. Her lips are centimeters away from me. I widen my eyes and make an effort to stir my head a little further.
She grabs me by my T-shirt.
"Listen here, you jerk. I am about to lose my temper, okay? So Do what I tell you to."
I lick my front teeth and roll out my eyes. "So? You want me to do what I am not supposed to do?"
"You are supposed to do it." She states, pressing the word "are" for a Lil bit long.
"No, I am not." I get rid of her hands which she grabbed my t-shirt with.
"Get out of here unless you want to see me naked." I slightly pretend to take off my shirt. She is still with me, staring at me and my body. She seems to be eagerly waiting for me to actually take it off. This is not going to work on her. I take off my shirt. Indeed. Yeah, Not just pretending but actually taking the whole T-shirt off.
"Wow. You got Abs." She attempts to touch my body. I stop her by snatching her wrist right away. I immediately take her outside. "Let go," she tries to get away from my seizing. The moment I make an effort to throw her outside, one of the girls among the crowd sees us. Well, here we go again. I don't have any t-shirt on. We can say, I am half-naked.
There are only three of us right now. Anna has her arms around my chest. I have my hands in her wrist. It looks as though we're embracing each other. The outsider misunderstood us.
"Uh...You guys can continue." She fakes her giggle and runs away.
"Wait, it's not what you see," I shout in a very high pitch voice to conclude her misapprehension. I act impulsively at once and kick her out of the room and slam the door on her. She tries to bang the door again but fails.
It's only our third encounter and she's already on my nerves. I change out of my jersey to an everyday outfit. I tap my pocket to make sure my cellphone is in there. However, I don't feel my cellphone. This is driving me crazy. I search for it everywhere and it is in no place at all. I walk out of the changing room in a hurry and start searching for my phone in the field. I know it's meaningless and stupid because the last thing I remember is that I stuffed my cellphone into the pocket of my joggers.
"Hey, did you see my phone?" I ask the whole world around me. I can always buy another mobile, but that one...it is not just any cell phone. It has memories of my dad, my childhood, and a great number of things I need to figure out. I dash to the streambank to find it. As I reach, My eyes fall into a car parked beside the river. There's a girl standing and it's Anna. Of course, I knew it from the start. She is not just anyone we can ignore easily. Obviously, She is involved in this.
"Looking for this?" she lifts my phone and smiles.
"You're a such a bitch, do you know that?" I speak as I try to breathe.
She begins to walk towards me. She is again walking at a slow pace and again, she moves closer to me.
"I told you, I need you."
