After our chat we both returned to our respective rooms. I was startled by a scary stare the moment I entered. Margaret was standing there, right in the middle of the room, clearly pissed at me, or pissed in general. With her, it was always hard to tell which was which.
"Where did you run off to?" She asked me
"I was in the terrace with Ken." I decided to keep the amusement park details to myself, I did not want to infuriate her further.
"Well I have been waiting for you here for a while now, where is Ken?" She folded her hands as she asked me.
"He went back to his room." I told her.
"Alright." She sat down in a chair and motioned me to sit down as well with her hands. "I guess Ken already told you that I went with, Oliver?" I nodded at her. "Well, I followed your 'husband' as I planned and here is what I found out...
He owns multiple cafes, but the major one is at the hub of the city. In fact it is pretty close from here. He goes there on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays of almost every week, at least that's what his secretary said. They way she talked about him, I wouldn't be surprised if she had a crush on him."
"Did you actually talk with the her?" I interrupted her narrative.
"Of course, following around like a stalker is an idiotic idea! If you want real answers you have got to be bold about it. Anyways, where was I? Oh yeah right...
According to most of his employees, his secretary and my own personal opinion he is quite grumpy. Those poor workers are so scared of him." She sighed.
"Are you sure you got the right guy? Last time I checked, he was quite bubbly." I asked her, remembering how laid back Timothy was. Maybe it was because I was his his wife? At least according to him I was.
"I think so, I saw your doppelganger kiss him, and Oliver confirmed it's himas well. "She shrugged. "However it is possible that today he was upset for some other reason." I tilted my head at that wondering what she meant. "I was told that today he was way more frustrated than usual."
"By whom?"I asked. Honestly, I'm so confused with her story.
"His secretary, I think her name was Sakura." She looked up as she crunched her eyebrows as she tried to recall. I nodded at that information, not sure how it was relevant at all.
"I am so confused. What exactly happened? Can you tell me exactly what you did? What did you ask this woman, Sakura, and how?
"Well, I approached as a reviewer of different places, surprisingly one was actually visiting that cafe, so I possessed her. I asked her all about her boss, she was so intimidated by me that she spit out everything." She smirked recalling that.
Well possessing or not, I have no problem believing that she can intimidate anybody, that poor assistant, she had to go through all that traumatic experience.
We were sitting there in silence for a while when I was suddenly startled by Oliver walking in right through the door.
" Geez!" You scared me!" I almost screamed. He raised his eyebrows at me. " You could have knocked!" I explained.
"Why? It's not like you were changing or anything. It's something you will never do anyway." He shrugged.
"So what? You will forget your manners?" Margaret spoke in her stern voice. Her chair was towards the corner of the room so Oliver did not notice her sitting there already. His eyes widened when he saw her piercing eyes glaring at him.
"Hey Marge, didn't see you there." He chuckled nervously, while her glare intensified.
"I see you are back already, did you find out anything?" Margaret asked.
"Yes and no, I followed her to her workplace. She is quiet good at her job, it's hard to believe she is an imposter. If she's pretending to be Virginia, she is quiet good at it, I'll give you that."
"So nothing significant?" Margaret raised her eyebrows.
"Let me finish, I'm saying she is good at pretending because I also spent some time around her colleagues. According to them, she had being strict and stoic instead of her usual calm and aloof self for the past two months." He shrugged.
"That does sound suspicious, but then again she did become project head two months ago, maybe they don't like her now because she is a boss?" I shrugged remembering that particular fact from the Diary.
"Well, that's not all, one of them who is also anothet project manager, said that they have been best friends for more than a decade, and she feels as if Virginia is not Virginia anymore" He shrugged. "According to her she has been different ever since 'that accident' happened."
He used finger quotes as both me and Margaret tilted our heads and narrowed our eyes.
"You clearly saw the glimpse of an accident right, so that definitely happened. What I don't understand is that how do they know about the accident part but not the fact that you are dead? Did she switch herself at the site of accident" He laid down all the questions for us, which forced both of us to think.
At this moment I was sure, that I was Virginia. But I did not know what I wanted anymore. I can't let them live with those imposter, she was a killer and she will not hesitate to kill my family. I can't let her hurt them, I had to let them know somehow that she is not Virginia.
But then what? If they find out I have died, they will be heartbroken. Today Momo was upset just because I have been distant, I can't imagine how broken she will feel if she finds out I'm dead.
Why did this happen to me? Why was I particularly targeted? The life had sounded pretty simple, then why was I involved in such a mess?
