Chapter XIV
Lux's POV
February 28
We embark on a journey to the borders to push back the draughts army into their territory. It's been 2 days since we started this journey and we are near the location and I think it will take us only half a day to arrive there because in the past 2 days terrains are something we didn't expect to encounter.
I stared at Gina and his stead. She can now manage to maneuver it a little but she sometimes wanders to the sides but she's learning while Zephiel and could still not learn how to ride one. They are always getting knocked off the horse. What a sad sight to see.
I move my stead near Gina."How's your ride doing?" I asked with utmost curiosity. "I can somewhat control where he was goi---" Her stead to go off-road again but Gina tried her best to bring it back on track. "It's easy." She said in a straight face.
I tried concealing my laughter. "If you say so," I said in a grin.
She glared at me. "Are you making fun of me?" She coldly said. "Or insulting me in your mind?"
I shake my head. "Nope, Not at all," I said hold my laughter
"You better not." She said with a glare. "I have my eye on you..." he points at me while threatening me.
I raise my hand. "Of course why would I---" I heard a loud horn from the distance.
I looked at it confused. "are we near the battlefield?" I asked Jessica who's holding the map.
"No, We are still far off." She said as she looked at her map. "I can see here that there's a town near them we better head there, there may be an invading happening there." She said as she puts away a map.
I scanned the surrounding using my eyes and I saw from the trees that there is a town. "Everyone we'll take a little detour, let's protect the townsmen," I said to them and they all agreed.
They followed my lead as we rush towards the town and we saw a battalion of rebels causing havoc at the houses. It looks like they are taking this opportunity because of a war on the borders.
I moved near the carriage so the people inside can also hear me. "Blue, Rose, Take care of the far north of the village to help and defend that area. Jerimiah and Helios take the east side area we have to cover as much ground as possible. Gina, support us from our rear since your our ranged personnel. Shan and Jessica lead the knights to surround the village and wait for my signal to strike to ensure no one escapes because I and Rachel will push through the middle and try our best to lessen the damage while Zeke guards the Prince at all cause." I explained the plan to them and they agreed. "Cleru inform the king or any high official of the palace about our situation." Cleru disappeared in a cloud of smoke.
When we got near the town we split up into different forces to cover much ground as we can. Rachel joined me in my horse as we rush to the center while Gina and Zach climbs Houses to get a vantage point of the area to assist us from behind.
On our way to the center, we fought them on the horse as we can before we jump off and be the same eye level. Rachel manages to defeat a bunch because of her brute strength and also some enhancement skills that prove her to be the strongest of her group.
I can't the others but I can feel their presence around me and also I can see them use their magic to aid them into battles. It's been a while since we fought like this so we have to be cautious as much as possible.
While are fighting I saw two mysterious people above the roofs so I signaled Gina To attack them, when the two notice someone opened a portal and entered to avoid the attack. I looked everywhere but they didn't pop up anywhere near us.
I think it's safe to assume that this battalion no longer has a commander so grab the horn on my horse and use it to make a loud noise as the knights signal. the moment I did that I saw a small portal besides me.
"I hate this errand but he won't stop annoying me so enjoy his present." I look to my right and the portal disappear out of thin air and when I looked to my right and saw a big gauntlet, I didn't have time to react, I was hit by it so hard that I crash at a building 13 meters away, I went through inside of the building due to that strong punch.
My eyes were so hazy and spinning, and my back hurts like hell. I tried to stand up my body was struggling to even get up when I stood The haziness got worse but a portal once again opened.
"Sorry, he said last one." The portal got big in my right shoulders and the big gauntlet once again but this time I tried to block it with my sword but I was still blown away by it due to its strong impact.
I hit the interior walls of the building and fell on the ground, thanks to my block the impact is not that strong but it still made massive damage to me.
I tried to get up but I slowly lose consciousness.
Unknown's POV
"Okay that's enough for you," I said with a grin on my face
"why?" He said with his serious face.
"You might kill him, and he's the vital key for the success of our leader," I said and walk away from him.
"Why didn't we fight there?" He said with a disappointed face. " I want to show them my strength," he said like a kid having a tantrum.
"stop being a baby just move on I'm sure you can do it at the right place at the right time." The Destructive mage said.
"Fine." and then he seats on his stool.
"Our plan is only to test them out and we also need to get out of there because as I can see on what Lux planned we will get surrounded and..." I looked at him. "You might get caught in the process and we don't want that," I said and entered my portal to my private place.
Even I don't know why I'm doing this rather than escaping but I just hope my friend wouldn't kill while doing this because I know for sure when he knew this I might get beaten and scolded.
Their leader made a bet with me if I lose to him I follow him if I win of course I'm safe but I lose, I could get help from him but I'm sure he'll lose. He can't stand a chance at him so better let my friend power up some more to free me.
I'll rest for now and see what will happen in the future.
Zephyr POV
I was busy doing some paper works when I saw a black cat walking in my direction. "what's your business?" I said as I do my paper works.
"The town near Zephyr was attacked by invaders." He said and jumped on my table.
"Just as I thought, whose the attackers," I asked the cat.
"We don't know just yet but I'll report back if I knew what group it is." He said.
"Thank you for informing me I'll just send someone to scout the area to be sure." I put down my pen. "Did the dwarves involve in this incident?"
"No sir, according to their physique they are humans and goblins." He said and disappeared in a cloud of black smoke.
I walked down the balcony and stare outside.
I think my vision is still here with me but my time is running out. There's nothing I could do now but pass this to another generation. I think he can handle this kind of power. I'm sure he will, I'm confident about that.
I went back inside and called a guard. "Yes, sire?"
"Send scouts at the Zen town. Bring some knights with them and secure the perimeter." I said in authority.
"Yes, your majesty." He walks out the door and stares at the mountain of papers.
sometimes I regret being the king... with this load, I think I'll lose my mind, but better get cracking or else I won't finish this on time. I thought the king was always on an expedition, I guess I learned it a hard and harsh way hays... but this is okay. As long as my nation stand I'm not stopping what I'm doing... signing this amount of paper.
if they could just give me an assistant but I guess they won't let me, hays...
