A beautiful woman is standing in front of the door. Her dainty looks and her semi-formal clothes, loose gray slacks paired with black stilettoes, and white body hogging turtle neck sleeveless shirt, made her look like a socialite of some sort. However, the woman seems to stagger a bit as she could not seem to stand straight.
Jenny Mae looks at the woman with a flabbergasted expression on her face as she could not believe who is standing just outside of her boyfriend's door.
The woman in front of her is like a celebrity in the eyes of both espers and normal people. So how could she not be stupefied at this time? And what baffled her right now is the question, why is she here? What is she doing in this place at this time?
Does she know Curt?
These questions suddenly enter her mind as she looks at the drunken woman in front of her.
"Hey… who's that?" Curt asked while his eyes are looking at Jenny Mae.
Jenny Mae turns around and then stood to the side. As she did so, Curt saw the familiar figure of Melissa Monte Mayor. He was a bit baffled as to why this woman would be here at this time.
Plus he could sense that she is a bit drunk.
Curt immediately approached and then asked with a worried tone.
"What happened? Why are you so drunk?" he asked as he suddenly supported the figure of Melissa.
He then looks at Jenny Mae and showed her a sheepish smile. He didn't know how to explain things, but he also could not just leave Melissa outside of the door.
As he supported her and laid her on the sofa inside the small living room, Curt immediately went to the kitchen and opened a closet. Then in that kitchen overhead cabinet, he took out a brown earthen jar.
He takes out a pill from that jar and walked towards the sofa.
He carefully lifted Melissa's head and then pinched her mouth open. He then inserted the pill he has in his hand.
"Sigh… how could this woman drink this much?…" he muttered as he laid her on the sofa and then takes a blanker from the side and then covers her.
After that, he sat on the opposite side. He then finds himself looking at the icy cold gaze of Jenny Mae. In those eyes, he could tell that she is waiting for him to explain things.
"Ah… How can I explain this…" he muttered.
"Try me…" Jenny Mae said with a cold tone as she crossed her hand.
When she did so, her chest suddenly became bigger making Curt swallow a mouthful of saliva.
Jenny Mae noticed this and a blush appear on her face. She didn't want to say it but his reaction made her feel a bit smug. She knew that he is attracted to her even though there is someone more beautiful inside the room.
But she could not let this pass by and not know what their relationship is.
Curt's mind immediately went to work as that time and an idea immediately dawned on him. He could not tell the truth that he is the masked man. But he could tell her something else. He knew that sooner or later, she would discover his talent in talisman, sculpting, and medicine. So this might be his chance to explain things haphazardly.
At least it would be a feasible reason why he is able to meet the second most powerful esper in the country.
"You see… Miss Monte Mayor is a client of ours… but… but… you should not say this anyone, okay…" he said while acting like it is all a secret.
When he said this, one of Jenny Mae's brows suddenly lifted.
"A secret? What kind of secret is it?" she wondered.
"You know that talisman she sometimes uses in the news… if you see the news… well, I'm the one who can make them. Plus… I also have some other clients that requested them, but I can't tell you who they are… the fact that you are my girlfriend and that you already saw her here, I can only tell you this… okay? Nobody should know about this… Promise me." He said with a worried look in his eyes.
However, deep inside his mind, Curt is praying that Jenny Mae would buy this reason. He didn't want Jenny Mae to know that he is the masked man. This would surely bring her trouble if discovered.
The explanation is a bit vague but it is already enough to somehow appease the heart of Jenny Mae. Actually, right now, she wanted to leave this place. She didn't know why but her heart feels heavy and someone hurting.
She wanted to cry at this point as she feels betrayed.
But she seems to feel somewhat relieved that he is not that kind of guy. As she looks at the beautiful woman on the couch, she bit her lips and then said.
"You… you can sleep with me on the bed…" she said as she blushed.
But then she suddenly realized that her words were a bit ambiguous and could be mistaken for another meaning she blushed.
"Really?…" Curt's eyes suddenly light up.
"I mean… no… that's not what I mean… I mean, we could sleep together… in one bed… not… not to sleep together… I mean... I mean... ah…" Jenny Mae panics as her face turned red.
She didn't know how to explain and is right now panicking. Curt found this side of her very cute, so he smiles in amusement. He truly finds her really attractive at this time and did not want to take his eyes off her.
The two turned quiet with Jenny Mae avoiding Curt's gaze and Curt who could not turn his eyes away from her.
The silence between the two is a bit suffocating and would have turned awkward when suddenly a moan was suddenly blurted by the woman on the sofa.
Melissa suddenly reached for her shoes and then takes them off. She lifted her legs and takes off her socks. Her action made the two shifted their gaze towards her.
"Ugh… Curt… Curt… give… meee… wwaaaterrr…" she said in a slur.
Curt upon hearing her words, shook his head.
"This woman really knows how to act…" he thought.
He already knew that she has already recovered from her drunkenness and is now pretending to be drunk. But he would not expose her. So he would not want to expose her at this time, so he just followed her and get her a glass of water.
As Curt lifted Melissa's head to drink, Jenny Mae once again feels a tinge of jealousy in her heart. She wanted to be angry at him for serving another girl, but she also would not stoop that low as her pride won't let her.
Melissa carefully opens her eyes and directly looks at Curt. Then she was suddenly in a daze. Melissa seems to have forgotten that she is acting like a drunk woman and suddenly she subconsciously extended her dainty hand and then carefully stroke Curt's face.
"Really handsome…" she muttered subconsciously.
The eyes of Curt went wide in disbelief, and Jenny Mae who is standing on the side also showed the same expression.
She could believe that she could hear such a word. Her mind immediately turned cloudy and she didn't know why, but she suddenly runs inside the room and then with a loud bang closes it.
Curt on the other hand was also dumbfounded. He could not react at this time as he just watches Jenny Mae walks inside the room.
He suddenly recovers from his stupor and then stood up.
"I… I'm sorry…" Melissa said feeling a bit guilty.
She didn't know what came over her. When Curt was helping her, her mind suddenly turned blank and the face of her husband seems to merge with Curt's. And then she subconsciously feels her heart pounding and the feeling of wanting to touch that face again filled her heart.
Knock! Knock!
"Jenny… Open the door, please…" Curt said as he knocks on the door.
Then suddenly the door swung open and Jenny Mae already has her things in her hand and throws Curt an icy glare.
She could not think straight right now and just wanted to get as far away as she could at this time. So she decided to go home. She could not remove that scene from her mind. And those loving words that came from the mouth of Melissa made her heart really feel pained.
She subconsciously clenched her stuff and then strode to the door.
"Wait… Jenny… what is wrong? What's happening?" Curt said with a confused look on his face.
He chases after her, but suddenly, he feels a strong wind covering her body and pushing him back. Curt was able to balance his feet, but before he knew it, Jenny Mae is already outside the door.
He tried chasing after her, but she has already started her car.
He stood dumbfounded in front of his apartment while looking at the car speedily driving away. From that, he knew that she is angry.
"Is she jealous?" he thought as a faint smile appears on his face.
He didn't know why, but instead of being anxious, Curt feels a tinge of happiness. At least she is jealous… that's what he thought. This only means that she is already developing some feeling for him, right?
Curt, decided to watch the car as he began to jump from roof to roof following the car on the road. With his ability right now, it is easy for him to do this.
But because of this, he accidentally discovers that Jenny Mae is actually living in an expensive condominium.
Seeing that she was safe, Curt immediately turn around and return to his apartment.
After he enters the door, he saw Melissa sitting on the couch while calmly watching TV.
Curt shook his head remembering what just happened. And seeing that she is already fine he just showed a helpless smile.
"I wanted to be drunk, but what you fed me is something else. It actually nullifies the alcohol in my system… Hah… That is some useful pill…" she said upon seeing Curt approaching.
"You just gave me a headache, you know that, right?" Curt said while sitting on the couch.
"Oh, come on… I was just in a daze. Who told you to be as handsome as my late husband…" Melissa grumbled.
Curt just shook his head, he knew that tomorrow would be another day in school and he will once again fix his relationship with Jenny Mae. With a deep sigh, he pointed to his room.
"You sleep there, I sleep here, okay?" he said as he sat in a lotus position and did not mind the woman beside him.
Unknown to him, when he left at that time after watching Jenny Mae enter her condominium, a figure is actually sitting on the ground in front of her house.
When Jenny Mae saw that person, she was a bit shocked at first but then a warm expression appears in her eyes.
