(still Verity's pov)
I groan at my alarm blaring right into my ears. WTF?!!! I feel like I hardly slept. It's literally time to leave for work already. I pull out my phone which is charging and look at the time.
"6:30" I mumble and get out of bed.
I still have like 30 mins to get ready. I drag my lazy ass to the bathroom and brush my teeth. Shortly after, I walk into the kitchen, make some scrambled eggs and an avocado toast and shower and leave.
I check the time again and its 6:55 rn. Shit I gotta run else I'll miss the train.
As I'm running, I notice Nathan running beside me as well. WTF?! Why is he everywhere?!
"GOOD MORNING!" he yells, trying to catch up with my pace, I look at him , nod and start running faster.
Moments later I'm completely out of breath. I stand on the platform, panting heavily and I look up to the huge clock. "7:05", I say as I fall on my knees. I missed my train. Again. For the 3rd time this week. This is so far the worst week of my life. I quickly call the owner of the cafe I work at, telling her that I'll be late as my lazy ass missed the train, she is yelling from the other side , threatening to reduce my pay. Okay, maybe I deserved it, for literally being late for 3 days in a single week . I sigh and put my phone back into my pocket. Why are trains always on time? Like if its 7 it will literally arrive at 6:59 and leave at 7:01. Damnit !
I sit on the bench, putting my backpack right beside me and lean my head on the back support as I sink into it. The next train will be here at 7:45, shit. My work hours begin at 8:05 or somewhat around that which means I'll totally get less payment as I might be reaching in an hour , which means I'll be there at approx. 8:15 or something and to my workplace around 8:36 which means I WILL BE LATE!
Nathan pushes my backpack towards me , making some space for himself. "Huhhh...I guess we're late..." He says and sighs loudly. "Please, shut up, I really wanna punch someone and that someone can be you..", I say. He looks at me and then turns his head away to the other direction, humming a really shitty song. Honestly, at this point, I'm mad at everything. Even though the people walking past us have done nothing wrong, I just wanna choke slam all of them.
"Yo, Nathan!" I say rather loudly. Fuck, why do I have to be so loud, he's sitting right next to me lol. "Eh?" He says, not understanding what. "Well, you kinda forgot your sketchbook the other day so..I kinda took it and well...you can have it back now!" I say, shuffling through my backpack. I pull out his sketchbook at he looks at me confused. "Why'd you take it?" He asks. "Well, I thought I'd return it to you if we meet again." I say. He smiles and thanks me. I nod in approval and turn away, looking at all the busy people just going to work and shit. Ugh....I am late.
(3rd person's pov)
Time passed by rather quickly and soon it was 7:45. Verity sighed out of relief that it was finally the time that she was going to work. Nathan followed her in , inside the train and sat beside her. Verity frowned and pulled her headphones out to avoid any kind of interruptions. Nathan sighed to her defense and looked around, scanning the train thoroughly and aimlessly. He had forgotten to bring his book as he was late. He shuffled through his backpack just to check if he had brought all the necessary items or no . No, he had not. He had forgotten his charging cord and now he'll pay as his phone is out of battery. "Fuck!" He curses under his breath and an old lady looks at him with a disgusted expression. He sticks out his tongue and goes back to daydreaming.
****
The day ended sooner than they expected. Verity had no expectations that her boss would be nice enough to not cut her pay this time. Nathan never got a chance to use his phone which was good for him as he preserved the 18% battery for the train, so he could listen to music or something.
Verity entered the train with a smile as she had a great day at work. A customer tipped her with 12 dollars today with which she bought some donuts and ramen for dinner. She sat on her usual seat, pulled out her headphones and started listening to music. She noticed something unusual about the train. Nathan, wasn't there. She couldn't quite get this weird feeling of missing him out of her head. Why? Why was she missing that privacy invader?
The train doors open at Koreatown as a guy walks in. Just him, none else. He wore a huge grey shirt which was literally double the size of him and ripped black jeans with air-force 1s. Verity looked up to see the guy walk towards her with a huge smile on his face and then he sat next to her.
"Miss me?" He said. "Fuck you, Nathan Moore!" Verity sighed. It was better without him.
When they get off on the 1st Avenue , they walk home together as Nathan suggested that they do, because they live at the same stupid apartment afterall. Verity shrugged in response, giving in. She doesn't have any energy to fight this idiot right now. All she can think of is eating her dinner and falling asleep watching her favourite manga , TOKYO GHOUL.
When they get in the elevator of their apartment, Nathan presses his floor button to which Verity's eyes widen. She lives on the same exact floor. Eh?
They reach the floor and Nathan springs out of the elevator, waving a goodbye to Verity as he has no clue about the fact that Verity lives on this floor too. Verity follows him out and he gives her a confused expression. She stays quiet and walks over to her room ( room no.- 10) , twisting the keys in the keyhole. "WTF! You live here?" Nathan says in shock. "Uhhh..yea, is there a problem?" Verity asks. "No, not really, well, I am in room 11. Wow, we're neighbours! " Nathan says.
"FML!" Verity yells and Nathan laughs.
