"I found him later, barely breathing with his wings broken," the demon closed his eyes, "He was smiling when I held him," a breathless laugh escaped his lips, "Saying, 'I'm glad you came' and then…" he didn't say anymore and looked at the brothers, "So I killed him. Happy now?"
"That's why his soul didn't return…" Gabriel said slowly, "Because his wings… Lucifer, it wasn't your fault."
"Don't you dare try to forgive me," he said coldly, "I do not deserve any."
"You're right," Raphael stated glaring at the demon, "You don't deserve any."
'Good. Hate me,' Lucifer felt his lips curl, 'So predictable Raphael. It's almost comforting.'
The door to the apartment opened to reveal the three people who should have occupied this space before both angels and demon arrived.
"Oh, hello," Eve smiled, "Why is everyone here?"
