Chapter 68 - You

It was quiet at the table as both males did not speak. The sound of the ticking clock was loud in the room, insistent as if to tell the occupants to conversate.

Gabriel wrung his hands as he took a deep breath and turned to his former brother from the past.

"Are you angry?" He questioned and the demon's sharp honey eyes glared at him.

"You left."

"I had to," he explained, "If I didn't, father would know and… and find Eve and Little fire and the cave…"

The angel let the sentence hang as he looked away from the King of Hell. Green eyes staring at a spot on the table, not wanting to see the anger brewing in those golden eyes. He knew this would happen. He had done it before and each time, every single time, Gabriel felt that it was the right thing to do. He was trying to protect Lucifer. So, if his brother were to hate him, despise him, the angel was willing to take all that punishment if it meant for the demon to live.
