Chereads / My Favorite Sin / Chapter 140 - 139 Whack

Chapter 140 - 139 Whack

After the briefing, we had to get out of there and went home. John and I ran for the bathroom immediately. We were tossing our cookies, nothing but stomach acid, bile, and a lot of coughed up mucus and phlegm was coming up.

"Oh my .." John groans out as I'm moaning myself, trying to keep my hair from falling into the toilet.

"What the hell?" He moans out of the trash can from the bathtub as.

I'm shaking from the chills, even though I'm sweating, wiping my mouth off and lean against counter.

John is sweating as well, but his pilomotor reflex making his hair stand on end, I knew we were feeling the exact same way. He looks like hell.

"What is it?" John cracks an eye open at me and asks.

"You look like shit." Painfully my diaphragm contracts as I chuckle and groan.

"You're looking in the mirror, Mary."

(-_-*)

We're both groaning and laughing now as we lean back in nauseous pain. There's a knock on the door, but neither one of us is moving.

Yelling the best I can, "Who is it?"

The voice is muffled, so John just shouts, "Just come in!"

The door can be heard as we try to stand up, holding on to whatever we can to do so.

"You two look like hell."

We look up and see Bavarthos, leaning against the door frame with his brows raised.

"Gee, thanks we know. Feel like hell too." Rolling my eyes, I turn the faucet on and rinse my mouth out.

"Here, I'll help you with that." Bavarthos snaps two glasses and a large blue bottle, pouring a double knuckle for each of us.

Handing them to us, I take it and ask him pointing to myself, "Is all THIS from the essence we took?"

Bavarthos nods, "Told you, it's like a damn drug. Drink those up and you'll start feeling better. I need you two to help interrogate that bastard we have."

John confused inquires, " Bastard? Interrogation?"

I groan at the memory. "We found A mole.... You're not going to believe me, when I tell you who it is though."

John knocks back the contents of his glass, "Try me."

I avoid his eye's knowing this is going to be hard on him, "Suites, John. Suites is a mole."

He stands there stunned, blinking in confusion, "Suites? You gotta be joking right? No..." He waves his hand and shakes his head in disbelief. "No, Suites, there's no way he's a mole. He can't be. He can't." Tossing the statement at both me and Bavarthos with an overwhelming look of betrayal that grows more devastated at our silence.

"Let's go." John says, pushing past us from the bathroom to the living room. Grabbing something from a side table drawer before saying. "Ready whenever you two are."

The next second we're at Bavarthos's place, Viekar jumping in fright as we appeared right before him.

"Oh, you startled me! I just left his holding cell, he's been fed and watered." Viekar nods and turns to Bavarthos. "Anything else I can do for you Master?"

"No, thank you, Viekar. Go enjoy your breakfast with your mother." Bavarthos waves him off, as he bows in thanks.

We get to work on finding out exactly what information we should divulge from him and how we should go about it.

Now, we're standing in the interrogation room, with him tied up and bleeding already. My knuckles just as bloody as his face, and we haven't even asked him a question yet.

Suites grunts, splattering the floor with a mouthful of blood and spit. "ahh... And here I thought you guys didn't like me anymore." He chuckles as I purse my lips into a tight scowl.

"That was just a taste for Janet." I cross my arms at him, trying to contain my rage.

"Careful Sin, you don't want to end up with wrinkles forever do you?" He mocks my facial expression, then spits another mouthful of spit and blood.

I walk out of the room and leave Bavarthos and John in there for the time being. I just listen. Knowing that I could kill him over and over again, still wouldn't bring back Janet and all the others that have probably been killed due to him.

They start in on the questions, asking how long has he been a mole, how he would get the information to the Erlking, etc. The normal dance of interrogation. Ask a question, get a smart ass remark, try to persuade the truth by intimidation or by physical means. Sounds of flesh hitting flesh, grunts and moans echoed out into the hallway as time ticks by.

Bavarthos walks out after a while and I can tell by the drops of blood that adorn his clothes that the grunts I heard earlier who was inflicting the physical persuasion. He looks at me, reading my blank expression.

He whispers to me. "Are you alright?"

I nod slowly before replying softly, "I used to date him what.. thirty-35 years ago. His real name is Daniel, Daniel Douglas. I found out he was married with two kids and dumped his ass. He came to my work when John was still pretty new. He confessed his love and rambled on, I had to have him escorted and John helped remove him from the property. He busted his car window and was harassing me till I had him served a restraining order and admitted to get counseling. I thought nothing of it after all these years, but apparently he's still delusional that I only left him cause of my gift and that he's still in love with me." Shaking my head in disbelief my ears perk up to John's conversation with him.

"...I get it. Sin is an amazing woman, how could you not love her? But Suites... Why? We trusted you, hung out as friends... No, I'm sorry. You were my friend, I just don't get it... How could you betray not just me and her, but your children and all of humanity?" John's voice is low and full of emotion. I knew that he was not taking this well. Suites had become his closest male friend since all this started. They were brothers at arms, fought together, drank together, and to find out it was all just lies, was not easy.

I look through the pane of one way glass that Bavarthos had magically installed and I watched as Suites face crumpled up in anguish and looked away from John.

'So he does feel some guilt over it all...'

"I gave up my wife, my little boy and girl, for her. I have not heard any thing about them since the day Sin had me admitted for therapy. My wife at the time was able to use that to get full custody and moved changing her name and my children's names. I've never been able to find out if they're still alive, not that they would want to see me anyways. I gave it all up for Sin, because I love her. I gave up my family for her, why the hell would I not give the rest of humanity who doesn't give a shit about me?" He leans his head back eyes closed in collective thought.

"She doesn't love you, though. You know that right?" John's bewilderment as he faces Suites can be heard, even though we can't see his face.

Suites lifts his head and cocks a grin at John, "Yeah, but I know for a fact she's been attracted to me more than a few times. I could have persuaded her eventually. I know you saw her... more than once, checking me out, ....and the way she blushes when she's thinking dirty thoughts. She's given me those blushes plenty of times...I used to fuck her the same way, like when I walked in on you two in the office. Oh the sounds she used to make while my cock was buried deep inside that pu..."

*WHACK*

Suites's eye almost pops out of it's socket and I can tell by the concave of his cheek bone, his eye socket has been shattered by John's single punch.

"Let us, ... let him, get some frustration out? Shall we?" Bavarthos motions for us to go to the next room, opening the door letting me in first.

"You have really picked a winner or two when it comes to men, you know that?" Bavarthos chuckles as we sit down.

'This asshole.'

"So what? I'm sure you've dated a few that were not the best choices either."I roll my eyes at him as my face fills with a forced, wide, thin lipped smile.

"Ha..ha..ha.. You sure about that?" He laughs leaning back in the chair as I perk up at his amusement.

"What? It's not like you're a virgin." I scoff at him.

"Ehh.." He begins to fidget at his evasive sound, neither confirming or denying my accusation.

"Are you kidding me? You're a virgin?" My head ducks down to question and read his next response, making sure I see his face.

Bavarthos shrugs, "No, I'm not a virgin, but I've only dated and been with one person."

I have to pick my jaw up off the floor as I look at him in shock.

Scowling at me he shakes his head, "Oh, don't look at me like that Sin."

"Sorry, but only one? Alright.... so only one." I shake my head as he gives me a darker glare. "Well, apparently, it didn't work out, because she's not around." I shrug motioning around the room.

Clicking his tongue loudly in irritation, he leans forward interlocking his fingers in front of him.

"No, she's taking care of her own problems in her world. I gave her a way to join me, once she's done handling what she needs to." He twirled his thumbs around in his hands sighing.

"Oh...." I pause thinking about this information. "Her world huh? She's from another dimension or something? What's she like?" I have to ask, my curiosity taking over, anything to distract my thoughts from the betrayal of Suites.

His eyes light up as memories start running through his mind.

"She is like you in some ways, independent, strong, a smart mouthed woman who can back her words up too. She's had a rough life too, but instead of those things holding her back, she used it to become something better than many thought she would be. She's stubborn when it comes to getting things done, doesn't matter how many times she has to attempt something. She'll find a way." His eyes twinkle and the smile the lights up his whole being, changes him. He radiates joy at the mere thought of her. "She's intelligent considering that she was only taught basics in arithmetic's and reading until she was 13. She was fortunate enough to make some changes in her life and ended up with a tutor who taught her well, among other things." His eyes gazed off into the distance seeing something from his memory.

"What does she look like?" Still curious as ever I inquire about this woman who has the power to give the arrogant, scowling, asshat seated before into a completely different person.

A soft smile curls along his lips and his eyes turn tender, a look I had never seen before on any Fae. Not even Thietian's with Elena and Cass's child.

"She's about five and a half feet tall, luscious curves, she's thicker than you are." He winks at me, making me awkwardly blush at him before he continues. "However, I know she could keep up with you no problem." He chuckles before continuing, " Her eyes are radiant like electric blue charged waves over a tropical lagoon. Her soft, supple honey and umber skin with dark curls of hair flowing from her head... She could bring whole empires to their knees, if she truly wanted. She holds herself proudly and confidant of who she is, but is humble in many ways.... Damn.... I miss her."

He sighs, longing evident in it.

"You're head over heels, in love with her." I suddenly feel like I'm back in high school the way my heart clenches in adoration of the way he described her. "And she feels the same way about you too, I'm guessing?"

He shrugs the smile finally falling and turning hopeful but disheartened, "I would hope so, her heart may have changed over the time we've been apart. She might have someone new, might have forgotten things I've told her, might have forgotten me." Pain laces his words but he clears his throat, " As long as she is happy, I can feel content."

'He can't be serious?!'

Scoffing at his statement, "You're full of it, you know that? How long has it been since you've seen her?" I call him out on that bull he just said.

"It's been a eight years for me, it's only been eight months for her though. Time moves differently between us and I didn't tell her I was going to be waiting. I just told her when she was done, to come find me. How could I expect her to leave her world for me?"

"I think if she cares about you even a sliver of how much you seem to care about her, she'll come eventually." I reassure him.

John walks in and sits down, "Mary, he is willing to talk to you now. He is asking to talk to you, I should say." He is wiping his hands off with a towel, aggressively.

I put my hand on his and he stops, "You are going to be okay." I remind him.

He nods, "Yes. Here take this." He pulls something out of his pocket and hands it to me.

"What's this?" I look down and see two children, a boy and a girl, smiling. The photo is aged, the corners are worn and creased, like it's been held and looked at a long time.

Scrunching my brow in confusion, I ask, "These are... These are his kids? How'd you get this picture?"

John pauses, tapping his boot and heel against the ground before explaining.

"He had shown it to me once, but claimed he was the little boy and that the girl he claimed to be his sister was killed in a car accident. He lost it a few weeks ago and I've never seen anyone so torn. Going through the lost and found two days ago, I found it and got sidetracked instead of sending it to him. Maybe you can use it to get real information from him?"

"I'll do what I can." I set my jaw and put the picture in my pocket and leave the room.

Walking into the room with him, I firmly state.

"SO you want to talk to me.... it better be good."
