Chapter 88 - 87 Politics are Vile

"I can't believe they are actually saying that they are having a meeting about the "FALSE ALLEGATIONS" that they choose describe the facts as! How could they do that to their nation?!"

'I can't believe some of the countries that are joining in on this. I understand some wanting to prevent the loss of life and high cost of war that would eventually ensue. However, some of these nations already imprisoned the corrupt officials working with the Erl-kings plans, so then why are they discussing anything knowing he's a liar and will turn on his words?'

'Cass you're still young, but politics are just vile in every way. It's always claimed to be for the greater good but it never really is. It's always been about particular interests and furthering one's own idea or power. Even when the original design was for the good of many.'

'Even the road to hell is paved with good intentions.' We think in unison.

'I hope that doesn't happen with these places if they end up becoming our permanent homes.' I voice the thought that crossed my mind to Thietian.

'The main issue I think may occur, is the influx of refugees when fighting starts to occur. These places can only hold so many and then continue to sustain so many for so long. Even though the best nutrition crops and best producing are the majority of the crops.... If population numbers grow too quickly, I would hate to ration food, ask the people for some drastic changes to be made or turn people away who are just wanting to stay safe.'

We both remain quiet on that one. We hope that it will not come to that.

Looking at the news coming across the desk, our assistants and comrades who have helped Thietian since he started this years ago, are going over the correspondence with the countries who believe us and are willing to cooperate to protect their people. So many want to meet in person, but that could be a dangerous risk for both sides. We have advisors that are already trying to think of a good way to meet with little issues. The problem is that majority of them are still risky and the only sure proof way is through a blood oath contract.

Some of the ambassadors were open to the idea but only after meeting in person first. No one wanted to give on that, and my advisors were at a loss. Thietians close friends and assistants who had been handling everything until recently didn't want us to meet them without the contract signed. We had an opinion and things being said to us from all directions that our head was spinning.

"ENOUGH!" Thietian shouted pushing the chair back from the desk and standing up, we took a deep breath to calm down.

"That's enough, I have to meet with them to get them to sign the contract. Most are unwilling to sign it otherwise, so if I can not risk this... how can I ask them to? I'm going to be meeting them, set something up you guys and Turk, your team can make sure those places are safe that we meet at."

Turk nods reluctantly and we continue, "Now, see if you can't get all that are willing to meet me at the same time. Or as many as possible at one location. If we have to those places can be decoys and have someone ready to snap them to a more secure location if need be."

I give them a look like they should focus on the latter half of that more so. It would make Elena worry less... I hope. She's approaching the end of her second trimester already. We don't want her stressing out any more than what she already does.

We've been at our compound almost a month now and Sin and John have been managing the entire Canadian compound location and have done an amazing job at it. They've in four weeks got almost a legion of recruits each that each one of them have trained their staff, improvised a way of record keeping, trained officers under them, and actually made two legions of soldiers in a month!

Granted they are not the fierce legions of legends that move as a single unit, but they achieved more than we thought was possible in that time frame. The Canadian compound had enough room for two more legions of recruits to be trained there including their families. So far there was only a few issues with some families not wanting to pull their own weight However, we were confident that sending the ones who refused to work to the refugee camp areas was the best. They were safe there but were unable to use up space and resources for people who were willing to work for it.

We couldn't afford to give hand outs to anyone lazy. We also were not asking for slave labor to be done. We would let them work anywhere they desired or if they had certain skills where they could be used. The refugee housing were just massive bunk halls with dividing walls for privacy between groups of four bunks, locker room style bathrooms at each end of the halls. You could fit around twenty five thousand in each refugee camp, but the food there was not as good a variety as what we grew at the compounds. However, if no one wanted to work, what else could anyone expect for free?

"Prince Thietian?"

We are snapped from our thoughts as we focus back on the task at hand. Getting more allies and soldiers, while trying to see what the Erl-kings next move will be.

"My Prince, what if we held our meeting at the same time they are holding theirs with the king? It will be less likely that he's going to send out his best to attack our meeting since he'll need his best to protect his meeting."

I look at my advisor and shake my head, "No that's too obvious for a meeting time. Also some of these wish to go and listen to what he proposes. I can't make them choose me or him like that if they are unwilling to sign the blood oath now, it would defeat the purpose of them meeting me. They'd be choosing our side by default."

We stand up and pace a few times stopping to ask one of the aides, "Do we have anything from our vine yet?"

"Not that I know of sire." The aide informs me and goes back to his paperwork.

A knock comes at the door and one of the aides answers, it's my brothers and sisters husbands.

"Are you all happy and settled into your accommodations now?" Thietian asks them.

"We're settling, now brother, we need to ask what you would like us to do for now? Especially our men, they don't mind the easy work of farming and maintaining these areas, but they want to know when they'll be fighting? We don't get much news of the happenings going on right now."

Cyrus forced a smile and we realized we hadn't been giving them too much information because of how busy and hectic things have been.

"My apologies, it's been rather hectic and I forgot to keep you all informed on these matters. You can get this information from one of the staff here and once you're done reading over all of it you can come offer me some advice or if you have some different strategies to propose, I will be all ears." We motion to one of the aides and get back to work.

The IP scramblers were doing their jobs as we sent email after email, phones were going off as we went back and forth with negotiating a time and location. It was six in the evening when I decided that was enough for me. I was just about to head out when my brothers showed up again.

"We finished with going over the information, are you ready now brother?" Mirne asked.

We sighed, "Not really, let's do this first thing in the morning, please." Exhaustion filled every inch of my body and I was done.

Lierthe came and put a hand on our shoulder, "Rest brother, we can see you're fatigued, you've been working hard on this for the past month. We can give it another nights worth of thought while you get some rest."

"Thank you brothers. I will see you first thing in the morning." We snapped back home after that.

.....Turk's POV....

"That spoiled brother of ours! It's not even late and he's that tired?!" Balkin exclaimed as soon as Prince Thietian had left.

I grunted at these damn princes, the hypocrisy was tangible with the Balkin saying those words.

They have no idea how he'd already been here for the last forty eight hours working almost non-stop except for the two hour rest he had right before breakfast. He's accomplished more in a month than these prissy, pampered princesses could. Hell, even Sin and John were able to whip some forces into shape in just a month. It took them a month just to have their 'trained soldiers' adjust to new sleeping quarters and duties.

I roll my eyes and scour the maps looking for countries that were deemed hospitable that we could whisk our meeting participants to.

"Mirne, Lierthe you were too kind to him. He's a grown man now, he needs to learn that things are not just handed to him on a platter. Sometimes that means staying extra hours even if you miss dinner." Balkin continued.

I snapped the pencil I had in my hand, wishing it was this pricks neck. The sound however did draw everyone's attention to me.

I glare with disdain at the looks I'm receiving and grunt out, "Looks like not sleeping the past two days with the prince has gotten to me too. Guess I need to call it a night too, brothers." I toss the broken pencil bits into the trash and strut out the door bumping Balkin's shoulder as I head out.

"The nerve!" Balkin turns to say something else to me.

'hehehe bring it you little bitch' I turn around my face breaking out into a wicked grin.

My aura radiates intimidation and a willingness to fight to the death right now.

"I didn't catch that..... General Balkin." I grunt out still grinning, hoping he'll be stupid enough and I can knock his little ass out.

"Rest well, Turk....." Balkin says calmly but I see the spark of fear in his eyes.

"That's what I thought you said...." I turn and take off out the door and head to the mess hall for dinner before going to my apartment.

'That's what I thought you said...' I laugh to myself, but know to keep a close eye and ear on that asshole.
