Chapter 4 - Florida A.I.C.

Once Frances got out of the hospital, Maxy drove her to Florida A.I.C. No one knew what the A.I.C stood for except the people that worked there. Everyone assumed it was just a random business office, but, no one outside of the business knew what actually the business was about.

"I'm still wondering what this man wants from me." Frances snapped.

"You'll know when he talks to you," Maxy replied.

"Yeah, no shit," Frances muttered.

Once they got into the building, Frances was surprised to see how busy it was. There was no direction you could look without seeing people moving. Maxy walked Frances to the front desk and there was a lady sitting on the other side.

"Welcome back, Maxy," The lady said in a polite tone. She seemed very welcoming at first glance.

"Thank you, is he in his office?" Maxy questioned.

"Yep, he is right upstairs!" The lady smiled.

"Okay, thank you," Maxy said. She gave Frances a signal to follow her into the elevator.

They stepped into the elevator and Frances broke the silence.

"What's this company for?" Frances asked.

"You know, you're asking a lot of questions..." Maxy remarked.

"Yeah, I'm just curious," Frances replied.

Once they got to the floor they wanted, Frances followed Maxy through the long hallways as well as trying not to bump into people.

Eventually, Frances and Maxy got to an office. Inside the office was a man, not similar to the man that gave Frances the guns, but a little more well-kept. Frances and Maxy took a seat across from the man.

"I assume you didn't get my second message." The man said.

"What second message?" Frances questioned. "What are you talking about?"

"Remember? My request for you to take out James Walker?" The man asked.

"That was you?" Frances asked.

"Yeah, that was me. But, you didn't read my second message." The man added.

Frances looked down at his desk and saw that his name tag said "Mike E. Reynolds"

"No, I didn't," Frances replied. "What did it say?"

"Well, it said to meet me here so we could plan out how we are going to assassinate him," Mike answered.

"Plan?" Frances questioned. "Why can't we just get it over with?"

"I know you like to get things done fast, but, we can't do that with James. He is more than just a gang member." Mike answered.

"What is he then?" Frances had a confused look on her face.

"He is a top agent that works for a agency that is against ours," Mike said. "He is trying to get our personal data and leak it all over the internet."

"He will host a big party of some sort in August." Mike continued, "We decided that we should strike then."

"Damn, So why can't we just kill him again?" Frances asked.

"Because it's harder than it looks. You'll know when it starts. I just need you to work with my team and we can take him out once and for all." Mike replied.

Maxy looked at Frances, expecting her to say something.

"What's in it for me?" Frances asked.

"Well," Mike added. "Let's just say a LOT of money."

"How much?" Frances asked.

"Well, that depends on how good you do," Mike replied.

"Alright, so what exactly is the plan?" Frances asked.

"The plan so far is that we get you and a few other undercover agents to go to that party. How we are going to take him out without too much chaos is what we don't know." Mike said.

"Alright, well, I'll see you the-"

"Wait," Mike interrupted. "Now that you are hired, here's your badge"

Mike shows Frances a big, metallic, blue badge that says "A.I.C" and "Frances M. Briggs" on it. It was a pretty badge, to say the least.

"I thought I was working WITH you, not FOR you," Frances said.

"Being an agent here is WAY better than being a hitman, Frances," Mike added. "Trust me."

"Yeah, whatever" Frances muttered as she took the badge from his hands. She took once last glance at the badge, then at him, and got up and left the room.

Frances walked into the elevator. As she was in there, she wondered how she was going to be able to take on such a big mission. She just knew that she already failed one mission, that and she couldn't fail this one.
