Chapter 1 - The Adventures of Prometheus

Prometheus has done some things in his past that he was not quite proud of, but those choices he had made during that day were the choices he made to save the world. Some people say it was insignificant, some say it was stupid, but those people are not me and I am here to tell you what really happened and how a normal being became one of the world's greatest heroes there ever was. It all started on that day, Tuesday 12, 1963. It was a normal Tuesday just like any other day in New York City. The air was fresh as any and the sky was bluer than it had ever been before. Prometheus with his briefcase in hand was heading with pride towards his job he'll never have. This was supposed to be his first day, his new life, his new career, and it might have been if he didn't take that one turn. See, Prometheus was heading towards the building right on track, and not a second late but one foot from the door and a hand on the brass doorknob it happened: A shrill sound engulfed all the noises around it and dragged through the air like a knife on butter. Prometheus's hand shot towards his ears and as the people were heading towards that same building that held his future, Prometheus made a turn towards destiny. Running in urgency in the opposite direction towards the sound that scraped his ears, his feet slammed on the concrete but one foot had missed the ground as his whole body went slamming into the stone-hard path, everything went dark, a familiar hand went grabbing his unconscious body. I'm not sure what happened that got him to finally open his eyes if it was the sense of lovingness that emitted from his friend Chlorida Rivers or if it was the sense of urgency and the knowledge that if he did not wake up now his eyes would never have opened up again. But the fact is that his eyes did open and focused on his friend's brilliant blue eyes that he always wished he had. A sense of newfound strength enveloped inside of him and his feet rolled to touch the ground, his body became upright once again. The world looks slanted from the dizziness leftover from the fall. Prometheus staggered then regained his balance. His eyes fell closed and his body felt empty as it fell towards the ground. The soft hands of his friend wrapped around his body, her almost clear hair draped over his shoulder as Chlorida lifted her friend up from certain doom. This time the world seemed clear as his eyes opened again and

that's when he noticed that something was wrong. His thoughts flooded through his head like a tidal wave.

"I have to go, someone needs me, there was a cry.  I can not sit here and feel the weakness of myself while someone over there has the strength to move a mountain but has not the strength to push down her own fate. But even in my weakness, I have the strength to do what she can not. I must go. " Prometheus lifted himself up to stand on his own two feet and stared at Chlorida. His white eyes meet her blue and her pure white hands grabbed his shiny gray ones.

"Please, you're not strong enough to defeat him on your own, to save her,  we both knew this was going to happen soon but we did nothing now us and the people would pay are price. It's true you have to be the one to save her but not on your own, it wasn't just you that let this happen it was both of us, so both of us have to be the one to stop this." Chlorida squeezed his hands and Prometheus felt the sense of truth rush in his body, if he were to go on his own he would surely die. But what about her would she die just the same if he brought her along and yet what if he lives to see her lifeless body fall to the ground stone cold and dead, just seeing that one vision would surely be worse than death. But Prometheus knew he couldn't refuse the persistence of his pal so he agreed and off they went in the direction no one dared to go. Together and side by side they went down that path. The blue sky disappeared as clouds of an oncoming storm can rolling in. The eeriness of the street made it seem almost as the buildings were closing in on them and seeing all this only made them run faster and stronger. Ten minutes later they heard the sound the same sound that took away Prometheus's only chance to live a normal life. They turned sharply to the right and as it had seemed like they have been running for hours only twenty minutes after they started had passed. The world seemed to stop and their body finally realizes how tired they actually were. Out of breath there strength and determination still remained high. The buildings were shorter and farther apart than what they were when they started, which only made the troubledness blooming in Prometheus's stomach worse.

"You sang your death song Prometheus. In the past, you put your heart in hers. Making that choice should have been the end of you yet I let you live if you slammed the door and let our fate's lines stay untouched, now yours is near its end and you chose to cut it by saving your lost love, how pathetic is your heart not full enough with your true love? Do you need another hand to hold? Hah, and the only person to go to is your past, no future, no present, cause all you do with your life is shut yourself in that small school, you lock the door, and read that's all you do with your life read, and the one moment when you decide to start a new you throw it away to

save your lonely ex. Do you feel proud of your decisions? Of only you this world will pay and there is no choice you can make to dig yourself out of the trench you made, your fate is sealed there's no turning back." The sound echoed throughout the alley Prometheus' fists tightened, his white eyes glowed red with anger of the voice that was once his friends.

"Suloven Ferdinand Acidibus, I know what I did and I know what you were why can't we just put are wrongs behind a start back at the place we were before. How did one person

change you from a helper to a killer? You always were the first hand I touched in the signs of trouble now your hand is as red as the person you choose vengeance on. Does that make you proud Suloven, you had a life but you let those words of voices damage your soul. Now I know why you are called, Sulfuric Acid, cause you let everything you ever loved just dissolve away and every path you ever made just leaves  trails of fire on the lines you touched, so who really made the trench here?" Prometheus covered in tears of acid had only one thing on his mind, that person was never his friend only an enemy of a heart of stone. His hand reached up towards his face. The words that were said cut deeper than a knife and a knife that sharp could only be broken if it was sharpened again. Prometheus's hand drew back with courage and strength and done something it has never done before, it touched his own friend with the power of a lion and then it burned. Every molecule in Prometheus's skin dissolved in his own friends' flesh. It scorched, singed, and then it was nothing. Horror lived in Prometheus's body, he hurt his friend and now he shall die. Prometheus crouched down in pain, his vocal cords vibrated with agony. And the world was almost gone. The people who know this story would say this part is where it ends, Prometheus dies from the hands of his friend that he had never touched, his lost love parishes and Chlorida Rivers, the worst of them all stays with Suloven destined to live all eternity in her own little prison, tortured but shall never die. But the people who know this story have only had the courage to hear just a half while the rest soon faded away for the good of mankind. Sulovens' eyes glowed with triumph,

"Chlorida, come take my hand, he had never fit in your heart. Have you ever wondered why he cared so much for his lost Iodene, because his heart was never full enough carrying his love for you. Iodene was his first and only love, you were just someone there, the third wheel to a strong bike. To him, you were just a therapist, someone he can talk to but never someone he could ever love. But for me you were always the one in my heart, all the choices I have made were for you to be with me and now my choices are near its end." Chlorida drenched with tears for her lost friend grabbed Prometheus's' hand with rage.

"You are nothing more than a monster I am not sorry for what troubles your past gave you and I am not grateful for the choices you made. You never made any decisions for me and your heart is too dead to hold love for anyone but yourself Narcissist. And if you think for one second I'm going to leave the person I love the most for a person whose conscience is black, you'll regret the day you were ever born."

"Oh honey, why couldn't you cut off that tong. We could have had a good relationship, you and I, of course, I'm not going to just leave you here and I can't bear to see you dead. But

you know what thing I can see, pain. So talk away, say anything you want but this isn't the constitution and everything you say is not your freedom. So I suggest if you want to live peacefully you keep that pretty mouth shut." Sulovens'  hand went over and smacked Chlorina dead in the face. "And one more thing I am going to finish what I've waited my whole life for. You and your petty little friend can do nothing to stop me. The whole world will live without their useless heat, fire has only done harm to this planet. The people would be grateful to live without it, no more pollution, no more forests burning to the ground, and most importantly not a single fire will destroy a house, no one will die. Isn't this what you both wanted anyways. Of course, people would have to give up their cooked food, warmth, and their stupid machines but that's a small price to pay for a gigantic prize and anyways that is what your friend caused, not me, so you go mourning for him like it even matters while I change the world. This is the apocalypse the world's been waiting for, and there's nothing you can do to stop me."  Chlorida crouched down trying to see where her strength has gone. She felt so weak but since she was weak she was strong. She lifted herself back up from the ground. Sulovens' hands lite with blazing fire. He was right,  he's going to kill fire with fire and there's nothing she can do to stop him. Her thoughts raced with doubt. But if she did nothing the people would lose what they treasured the most. Feeding off of that thought for strength is what brought her hand back. Fire around the world disappeared sucking into Sulovens hands like a magnet. Chlorida ran with all of her force and her hand hit Suloven dead in the face. The world turned black in Sulovens'  vision and the

world disappeared just for now. The storm covered the night sky, letting loose a sheet of rain. Prometheus gasped, his clothing drenched but his heart on fire. His hands flared with radiation, as it had always done when it got wet, it circled Prometheus's hands and turned to the shape he needed the most. With nuclear energy in his control, Prometeus pushed the spherical shape towards the unconscious Suloven wiping him from existence forever. I'm not sure how these events happened but it had happened all at once, Prometheus destroying Suloven was out of anger not knowledge but it turned out to be the smartest thing he had ever done. When Suloven was destroyed it wasn't just him that was gone, it was all his unfinished work that left with him. Fire reigned once again on the Earth. Now this story has turned its final page. The world has been saved and the villain has died. No one knows what happened to the lost Iodene or Prometheus, he had never got the reward he deserved. But I can tell you he is living happily with his true love, I can tell you this because that is who I am. I Chlorida Cilia Rivers am writing this story in hopes that someday someone would see it and give Prometheus the thanks he deserves. But also to tell you that even ordinary people can save the world it doesn't matter if you have a special power to make a difference, I have none. But if my hand did nothing and never had touched Suloven's flesh he would have had the strength to finish his work, and the world would look a little bit different than what it should.
