"Sighhhh" Yang Fan lamented, "Since I'm going to die, I might as well just go out with a bang!" he bitterly grinned, "Oh yeah, I still don't have the last piece of the Star of Sierra Leone!" he murmured as he gazed around the extravagant and luxurious room until he locked eyes with 16, glittering and mesmerising diamonds, "Who would've thought the greatest thief in the world, known as the Reaper, would die to Fucking Cancer!" he soulfully cried again. He wasn't scared of death and had nearly embraced it many times, he was just sorrowful that he would die so young, at measly 27 years old.
He then tidied up the mess he made when he was venting earlier and prepared his gear, Yang Fan didn't work for any organisation and looked down upon those who did, he thought that working alone was best as he could keep all the benefits to himself, this also explains his proficiency in sewing, manufacturing and blacksmithing. He made all his gear himself and strived hard to become proficient in all his professions, he normally kept an expressionless face on and although his cover to his neighbours was a friendly rich dude who got lucky, if you saw him when he was working, it was like you were watching a different person.
Yang Fan took a private helicopter from his helipad and landed nearly 15km from Harry Winston's estate, the walk didn't take long and as he walked, he made no sound, at least, sound that couldn't be heard through human ears, he also seemed to be in an illusory state as his body flickered in the darkness, the whole process only took 15 minutes as he has already explored Winston's mansion several times and stolen many items from him as well as the former 16 pieces of the Star of Sierra Leone, although he desperately increased the security, if all it took was one tycoon to stop him, he wouldn't be called the greatest thief in the world. Yang Fan left the mansion whistling while throwing something shiny up and down in the air.
Yang Fan hurried back home and fell asleep as he was originally tired but decided to 'borrow' the diamond in the spur of the moment, the next day, at noon, he arranged the diamonds and just gazed at them, lost in thought, until he noticed the sun's rays that seemed to draw the diamonds closer together, he watched in awe as the diamonds merged to reveal a large and mesmerising piece of beauty, there was no expression on his face and it would make people think nothing happened, he was a bit confused but didn't let it show on his face, he lost interest in the diamond soon after and remembered that today was meant to be his last day, the only reason he wasn't in a hospital bed was because the doctors pitied him when he told them that he didn't want to spend his last days on a sickbed.
He felt his breath getting weaker and thought that it was worth dying when he saw such an astonishing sight before his death, after he changed all his valuables through some channels and made them clean, he arranged for all his money to be given to charity, not because he felt sorry for all the sins he committed and decided to atone for his sins, but because he thought it would be better for them to get it than anyone else, after all, if he spent his whole life stealing, only for all his valuables to be reclaimed after he died, then what was the point of him putting so much effort into stealing them?
[ AN: when I say clean channels, I mean he sold all the valuable things through the black market then basically exchanged the money through various banks until it was 'clean' I'm 13 but these novels have corrupted me so of course I know this.]
While he was thinking these idle thoughts, the huge diamond beside his rocking chair seemed to be glowing brighter and brighter and he didn't notice it until he saw a flash in the corner of his eyes then BANG! The diamond exploded and seemed to pull out his... soul? He didn't have time to understand as he was in excruciating pain, and even though he's suffered plenty of wounds, this was unlike any before! He tried to scream but no sound came out, when he saw himself entering a wormhole-like tunnel, he knew exactly where this was going, otherwise the 17 years he spent reading novels and fanfics were pointless, normally, others would panic but he only grinned and bitterly thought, "Which foolish young master did I reincarnate into now?"
