Chapter 1 - Prologue (05:45 - 06:20)

Morning routine

My alarm goes off and I slowly went to push the snooze button, my body is stupefied with sleep, so it's moving at a seconds delay from what my brain is instructing. In about five minutes my mother is going to bound into my room and demand that I awaken instantly, her way of waking me up is worse than the alarm so I usually wake up before she has the chance to terrorize me and go on my phone until my body has fully awakened from its slumber

I stretch my arms out slowly and tiredly feeling dead, I know not to attempt to stand else I will get dizzy. My body feels heavy, I blink to get the sleep out of my system. My head is still covered in a dook and I know my twists are still secure from yesterday. I yawn and look around my bare walled and messy room. It was fairly small with clothes strewn about from the wardrobe from when I couldn't find my swimming costume for p.e. My mom has long since given up on asking me to pack my clothes back into my wardrobe and I have long since given up saying will. My alarm rings for my actual waking up time, I stop it and quickly rush to the bathroom to avoid my mom and start on my routine.

I brush my teeth and shower, with cold water because I forgot to turn the geyser on earlier. As I shiver under the freezing water I cry a little because I have to wash with cold water and today is a cold day. I make sure to not get my head wet and dash out the shower as quickly as I can, I exit the bathroom and moisturize and get dressed. I remove the dook and undo my twists and pull them out to form a presentable looking image of myself, I then go on my obligatory search for my name badge because I've lost it once again (shocker). By the time I find it my alarm is already beeping for me to lead downstairs to my transport car, uMalume. I quickly grab my lunch bag, a banana, a little tub of yogurt and I run out, once again forgetting the spoon.

I race down the stairs of the apartment complex because taking the lift will take far too long. As I'm racing down the stairs I start to think how I'm wasting so much energy that I could be using for something else, I sigh.

I exit the building to find my transport there already the engine on, signaling they were going to leave me. I can't help but feel a little betrayed

That would have meant me going up to my mom and telling her I've been left behind and her crankily getting up and taking me on a long silent route to school.
