"So Maya's leaving", Xander said slowly. "Yeah", I replied absentmindedly. "Hey", he said softly as he placed the plates of food on the log. "Are you sure you're okay with her leaving?"
I looked in his eyes and I could see how worried he was for me, it warmed my heart and brought a smile to my face. "I'm okay with it Xander", I replied strongly and placed my hands in his to try and convince him.
"I mean I have to be honest, I didn't think I would be okay with it but when she mentioned it I realized there's no safer place for her other than away from here you know. Far from that bastard's reach".
He smiled warmly at that, "you're right about that. But I also know it couldn't have been easy to say bye to her considering everything that's going on around here". "I'm okay, Xander. Trust me I am".
