Synopsis
Everyone believes in something, right? Some may even be absurd or out of the ordinary. But little ol' introvertive Evangeline (Evie) Roberts simply believed that families should never abandon each other. And yet, she was recently been abandoned by her own parents but not intentionally. They were supposed to go on a so called "business trip" but got killed on the way. She tried to learn more about what really happened especially if her suspect is her one and only best friend, Damon Wallis. They've been best friends since the start of their high school life and yet they still remained friends. Feelings started to grow between them but it was too late when she was swept off of her feet by non other than the most brainless, narcissistic, heartbreaker of their school. Lucas St. James. In addition to that, she was too blinded by his looks that she kept on being with him, not realizing reality. But what happens if she had finally realized that he was only playing with her heart and never really loved her the way she wanted him to? She'll always come running to Damon, who's always there for her to give her a part of his heart. Will she be able to come to her senses that Damon loved and cared for her from the very start? Or will she still be blinded by her sorrow and accuse him for killing her parents?

Chapter 1 - Prologue

Silence. No welcoming hug, No excited smiles. Not a thing.

She took a deep breath as she sadly scanned the entire house from the front door. This is the place where her family made most of her memories. Like that grand staircase where she used to slide down the railings and fall flat to the floor. It'd hurt so much but she would do it all over again just to feel the wind rush through her hair when they couldn't go outside. Or the living room where they used to have family game nights or watch a horror movie and scare each other. This huge, homey house, full of amazing and unforgettable memories belonged to her family for generations and now, she gets to live in it... alone. It's hard for her not to form tears and pretend like it's not hurting.

She sometimes wish that they were still here. That they never left but then that one small little detail, that one specific memory will always remind her that they're gone. Have you wondered why your family says they're there for you always but then they go out on a supposed business trip and be killed on the way? She's not even on the trip, yet it feels like a part of her also died. And it hurts.

It hurts a lot.
