ERICA
No.
I tried breathing in all this situation but it was all too much to bear. I sat down on the bed with a sigh.
"I need to talk to grandpa about this. I don't want to inherit Lumia and I certainly do not want to be engaged with Micah."
"I know, Hun. But you know how this works. We always have to respect the head's wishes and the commands. It has always been like this," mom said.
"I need to talk to grandpa and immediately. I don't need a fiancée. All I need is Fay."
Both of my parents looked at each other. "If that's really what you want. We can always book a flight for you, but your grandpa is a busy man. We'll look for a way for you to talk to him the fastest way possible."
"Please do."
I walked away and into my room. Somehow this tells me that my life has only started getting messier. Looking over to my fiancée she looked straight into my eyes, but mine couldn't meet hers for dragging her into my family's dark business and affair.
A buzz came through my phone and I took a look surprising me that all of the days that my grandpa was free. He was actually free this whole week and the other days he will be busy as hell until the end of next month. I typed my message back to my mother that I'll meet grandpa tonight.
Somehow, it felt like I was walking in the palm of my grandpa's hand. It's like he could read my mind and plan every step. I have a bad feeling about this, but I couldn't let my grandpa decide my fate.
I sighed and I wished I had never heard of this news. I wish I had never learned the truth about my family. I wished that I could remain ignorant and lived my life in bliss with Fay. We could have lived so happily together.
I walked towards her silently to the point where she couldn't sense my presence until I stood beside her. She spun around. Her head looked up looking at me straight. I put my hand towards her face where she just sighed at the touch and caught it with her hands. "I don't regret meeting you," she said like she was reading my mind. "You are my light, Erica. I wouldn't even know how I lived my whole life if I hadn't met you. To be honest, I think I would be dead by now if you hadn't entered my life. So Erica I don't care if you are a Lumia or not. Or if someday you're going to inherit the family business. I don't know what or when it is you're going to have another fiancee. All I want is to be with you, and that is enough."
I pulled her into an embrace and just sighed at her words. She loves me so much and she just doesn't deserve me. In this situation, there were no words to describe how I feel about her. We stayed quiet for a while, but then we pulled apart. I grabbed her hands into mine holding them while looking into her eyes. "I'm going back to Italy. I'm going to talk to grandpa about this."
"I'll come with you."
"No. It's too dangerous."
"Which means that I should come even more."
I shook my head. "My home is dangerous. If I don't come back in two weeks' time then you can come and find me."
"How will I know the address to your house in Italy?" she snapped. She was crying tears running down her eyes. "Tell me how should I know? You know I just realized that I trusted you too much and loved you too much before even actually knowing you, but what can I do know since I can't live without you. If you are gone then..." She hugs herself, afraid. "The memories will come back to haunt me. I can no longer reach you nor hug you. So please don't leave.. take me with you even in death... Please... just take me with you," she whispered.
Fragile. She is so frail with one wrong touch or one wrong move she could break. I just pulled her into my arms with my head down to her shoulder and just shushed her. When she was in a calmer state. I open my mouth to speak. "Fay, if I'm gone for more than two weeks my parents will personally bring you to our house where you will meet grandpa but just maybe, but if he is in there I will introduce you to our family. Is it ok?"
"Two weeks. In two weeks I will come to find you."
"If I'm gone for two weeks long." She nods and wipes her tears away. She sniffs her nose. They were red from crying.
Two weeks was a little bit longer, but knowing my grandpa in order to call off such a big engagement. He would tell me to do something in return, and I doubt that it will be simple.

We kissed each other good-bye. My parents standing together watching me as we wave to each other. I walked into the gate holding onto my passport while the security checked it before letting me pass through.
I looked at my passport. My name has always been Erica Von and without my family name. This was done to protect me from the outside world. No one in the outside world has seen their face. I walked all the way to the checked-in point where a tall boy in a suit looked at me nervously. I ignored his gaze until his mouth spoke.
"Hi miss," he smiles. He looks pretty cute when he smiles, especially the dimples at the left side of his cheek. Looking smart with his black glasses. He was just like any other Asian but his height showed the masculine side of him especially with his broad shoulder.
"Hi," I responded. Then before shaking his hand. I took my hand and brushed my hair making him look at the engagement ring on my ring finger. When he saw it he was a little upset, but he continued to talk to make things less awkward.
"Beautiful eyes you have there. Where are you from?"
"Italy."
"Wow!" He laughed. "That explains the color of your eyes. Which part are you from?"
"Rome."
"Oh, are you heading home for a visit?"
"Yes. What's your name?" I asked. He was doing the questioning and I don't like being questioned a lot.
"Just call me Aiden. My name is Aiden Hale." Hale? "I have just finished with my business here. My father had suddenly just called me home to meet up with my sister in law. I believe her name is Erica Von."
I looked at him in shock. "My name is Erica Von."
