Thanks to my weak constitution and asthma climbing down the tree and running into a not-so-much hidden spot for Ray to find me, made me as tired as if I had ran two laps and a half around the palace or similar. At least losing my breath was something I was accostumished and I had a bit of ability to recuperate my agonizing lungs just in time for my servant to appear and find me, ending the game.
We walked back to the table at the garden, I sat on the chair ungracefuly, looking at the white roses surrounding the garden. They seemed always brilliant and beautiful, their white color usually reminds me a bit of our family's most known trait, silver hair. It was something I never dared to question about, but was there really a special meaning to it?
I glanced shortly at Ray's light skin color. Since this is clearly a different world I thought it was common to have all kind of skin or hair colors. But a few years ago I noticed that silver hair and dark skin were a special trait of this family. The only one different from us was our mother who had no royal lineage.
"I'll bring tea and snacks, Prince Robin." Ray said approaching a maid who was walking to the inside of the palace.
I watched the brief conversation from afar until a tiny pair of hands suddenly surrounded my eyes made me flinch so strongly my soul amost escaped.
"Guess who!" said a forced deep voice which still was too much aguda to be from my twin. My racing heart calmed a bit after some seconds while I faked a thoughtful 'hmm'.
"Could it be a precious goddess?" I answer jokingly and soon the pair of hands freed me.
"Glad to know i'm known!" proudly said Wendy while sitting with some difficulty on the chair from the other side of the short rounded table, which was a bit tall for her. "What are you doing here Brother Robin? You don't have any classes? I just finished Geography. So boring."
Ray came back with another servant who served green tea into a beautiful tea cup with blueish decorations besides a plate full of different cookies. I'll miss these snacks.
"My history teacher canceled my class to help Jaden with some of his homework." I faintly said taking a sip of tea, she looked confused while taking a chocolate cookie.
"Hasn't it been four times already?" I nod. "You're too soft Brother! I'll tell Dad."
"Wendy, there is no need to bother our Imperial Father. I can study by myself." I deny worried and leave my tea cup on it's place, step two of my plan was distance, if I drew atention to myself then the plan would be ruined.
She looked at me pouting cutely, I knew she despised injustice over all things but this silence was necessary (for me at least). History was not really important anyways.
"If you don't tell, I'll keep secret that you like that redhead kid of the Cello's noble family who visited last month." I whispered hiding my smile on the cup again. Wendy gasped in horror, I could almost hear her thoughts 'No way!'.
Firmly grasping three more cookies of her hand's size she shouted "We didn't talk about anything!" and jumped off the chair to run into the palace crossing over Jaden on the way, who looked at her confused.
While I tried to hold my laugh I remembered that if the servants heard then they would tell our parents and they would prohibite her from being with me as it happened many time. My short happiness dissapeared just by that in a second, replaced by coldness.
Jaden was just a few feets away, coming to where I was lazing so I took a single vanilla cookie and looked at Ray who seemed to know what I planned.
"Can we go to the library?" I asked getting up, he answered with a brief 'Of course'. On the way I walked without looking at my dumbfound twin. My cold attitude towards him had lasted for the last month, he still talked to me a bit and tried to approach me but unless necessary I didn't want to be close.
He needed to focus into being a crown Prince, and I needed to escape.
I felt his burning gaze following my back and making my hands sweat from the intensity of it. Would he be too mad at me? Will he want to execute me when he gets more power as revenge- wait that would be too extreme...though he's capable, i'm sure.
I gulped saliva and kept walking faster without looking back. The blonde man raised an eyebrow at my childish actions but didn't say a thing keeping on track a few meters behind me.
My next movement would be getting maps from the library and memorize them before sleep.
I still had three days until our birthday, dealing with all the precious money from the tree's hole wouldn't be too much of a deal since I had been gifted a spacial backpack at my eleventh birthday. That's right, my magic would be useful for the escape too.
As i'm just a twelve years old child my magic is hard to control, specially because I have more than it's usual. My brother has the same problem but he's better at managing it to heal as i'm to hurt or enhance my physic.
When magic is uncontrolled there are high risks of hurting one's body as in a magic deviation. It once happened to younger me, when I didn't even know a thing about magic and decided to try and see.
That time was not a life threatening situation but the magic deviation left me feverish and confused for a week, when people got too close to my body on the worst times of the deviation the magic attacked the closest living being.
Sometimes when I was isolated it attacked my organs little by little and had to be treated by special doctors.
While reaching the closest corner to the library I fixed my look into my hands and started to gather magic to enchance the muscles and give them strenght, it wasn't obvious unless you had enough ability to even see magic's aura. From what some magician's told me, mine's seemed ice-like colored.
An adult's hand took my left wrist and the magic dissipated at the sudden lose of concentration, Ray frowned at me with his brown eyes showing a silent warning, I looked at him not being able to hid my atonishment.
''You can see it.'' I babled.
My parents prohibited me from using magic unless it was for an emergency so I had rarely used it in front of others, even if magic was not rare one needed trainment to be able to use it correctly, make it better and see it so most of our servants either wasn't able to see it or wasn't a magic user. Ray never showed signs of being at that level at all.
He didn't say anything and quickly freed my wrist like it burned, then kept walking to the library. I had to run a bit to catch him again while making a fist with the hand he took.
'I should be more careful next time.' I thought pursing my lips.
