Chapter 5 - Princess

He was laughing loudly and when I looked at him, he was already on the ground, laughing his heart's out. I sighed and scowled, regretting coming here.

"I was kidding," He said, grinning when he stood up and started carving again. "If you're going to use my dagger to something stupid again, give it back," I said, glaring at him.

He didn't reply and only focused to what he's doing. He started with the letter Z, then E and lastly D. It didn't took long for me to realize it was my shortened name. He carved a '&' under it and under the symbol again, he carved a letter M, then I then lastly, K.

Zed

&

Mik

It was our names.

"I told you to give it back if you're just going to do something foolish," I said and looked at him unimpressed. He pouted. "It's cool! Now, this is ours," He said then hugged the boulder. I suppressed the urge to hit his head. My thoughts had always been violent, I just don't act it out.

He gave my dagger back. Looking at our names carved on the rock, I slightly tilted my head. Zed & Mik. Not bad.

"It's getting dark," He said and looked at the sky. He was right. "Do you know what would be nice right now?" He asked eagerly. I shrugged. "Go home?" I answered and he rolled his eyes.

"Follow me," He said then started walking to the forest. "Follow you where? Somewhere dark and secluded so you can kill me?" I asked half jokingly half suspiciously. He scoffed. "Why do you make it seem like I'm a bad person? For all I know, you're the one who might kill me," He said.

Point taken.

"I swear to our names carved on that rock I will not do you any harm," He said seriously as he look at me.

"That's what you said before stealing my dagger," I replied and he rolled his eyes again.

"Well, I didn't swore on anything back then," He said and I cross my hands on my chest.

"How reassuring," I replied.

After a while of non-stop bickering, I can hear a distant sound. It sounded like water falling. A waterfalls. I looked at Mikel and of course, he was smiling. I wonder if the muscles in his cheeks hurts from all the smiles he did. I never met someone who smiled so much before, I can almost feel second-hand pain.

When we got to our destination, I was right. It was a lake with a waterfalls just in the center. It was beautiful. Especially when I can see the reflection of the moon and stars in the water. Why haven't I discover this before? It was magnificent.

"Glad you're liking it," I heard Mikel said beside me and I nodded. I can't deny that. "So, do you want to swim with the stars and moon?" He added.

"Yes," I said thoughtlessly. "Wait, what?" I asked, confused. He chuckled before taking his white long sleeved shirt. I widened my eyes, realizing what he meant. "No. Definitely not," I said with a surrendered gesture.

He chuckled more before taking his boots and trousers off as I widen my eyes more and look away. Just how shameless can he be? His wearing nothing but his underwear! "Stop being such a princess and take your uniform off," He said and I glared at him before realizing it was a bad idea then looked away again.

Goodness, why was i acting like a princess?

"How did you know I was wearing a uniform?" I asked. Feeling proud of myself for not stuttering. He scoffed. "I'm not a peasant," He answered.

"Take your uniform off," He said again and I shook my head. "No," I said firmly.

"Why?" He asked. More like whined. "Because climbing a tree is one thing. Getting wet is another thing! And it's cold!" I said, still not looking at him.

"But your dagger wants to swim," He said and I immediately looked at him with furrowed eyebrows. "Wh-What?!" I shouted as I see him holding my dagger again. I glared at him.

"You're not doing this again! Give it back!" I said, angry. God, why didn't I even feel him take my dagger?! For the second time?! He only laughed before running in the water. "No! Don't you dare!" I threatened and attempted to run after him but it was too late. He laughed and shivered at the same time, maybe realizing it was actually really cold.

"Get back here!" I yelled again when the water reached his chest. Was he serious? "Come get it!" He shouted, waving my dagger in the air.

"You're not funny. If you don't give it back, I'm never seeing you again," I said seriously. Was I serious? Whatever. He can't just steal my dagger ang make me do things I don't want. Mikel's smile dropped and for a moment, I regretted saying that. He sighed sadly then began walking towards me. I mentally smiled.

He got out of the water, shivering when the cold wind flew past him. I told him it was cold, it's his fault. He handed me my dagger and I gladly took it from him, placing it securely on my waist where the handle was. When I looked back at him, his face was sad. Like really really sad. Was this one of his tricks? Because it's working.

"You're an idiot. I told you it was cold," I scolded and he bowed his head. I hissed, why does he remind me of a puppy? Maybe because he acts like one.

He sneezed. He sneezed.

"Do you want to borrow my blazer?" I offered and he shook his head then looked at me in the eye. His looks was pleading. What was that called? Puppy dog eyes? Whatever. "I want to swim," He answered. "With you,"

I sighed. His persuasion skills was good. I can't find it in my heart to say no and it was beyond bothering. "But it's cold," I reasoned.

"It's only cold for a moment, I promise," He said with a slight smile. I sighed again, heavily, this time. Unfortunately, he took it as a sign that I agree.

Did I really agree?

Before I can even comprehend what was happening, I was already left with nothing but my underwear and before I knew it, I was already shivering cold from the water as it reach my neck. When I glanced at the smiling boy in front of me, I noticed the water was only in his shoulders. How tall is he anyway?

"W-Why do you even want to swim with me so badly?" I asked then cringed when I stuttered because of the cold.

"No reason. I just thought it's fun," He said then grinned. I scowled. "It's not fun, it's cold!" I said angrily and he rolled his eyes.

"It's not even that cold. You're overacting," He said which made me scowl more.

"I'm sorry, maybe you should light me on fire!" I said sarcastically. He only laughed then splashed me with water, making me widen my eyes as I do the same.

"Stop it already!"

"You stop first!"

Then we laughed the night away.
