Chereads / Death For Life / Chapter 2 - Let Me Go

Chapter 2 - Let Me Go

It's been a month since Han Zhuoli transmigrated in the novel. He had gotten more closer to his younger brother, Yu Xingyun.

Han Zhuoli had always seen his father standing at the gym door watching him or to say peeking at him since the first time he nodded at him. He was even more shocked to see that Han Ying was trying to get close to him.

Nevertheless, this month was quite eventful for Han Zhuoli. He was not bored at all as his stepmother tried to kill him at every stop and every chance she gets.

He was almost poisoned too but thankfully he was an expert in that field so he knew right away that the food was poisoned. Heck, his stepmother even sent assassins to kill him. He is starting to think that maybe someone should take her to the hospital to check her mental state.

The original Han Zhuoli also went through this but of course, he always survived because of some stupid luck but for the present Han Zhuoli it was a child's play to know her tricks and to avoid them.

Actually, the Han Zhuoli in the novel was cannon fodder. He thought that the author kept him alive through all of the evil stepmother's scheme just so he could fulfill his role as cannon fodder in the latter half of the story.

" Brother~"

"Brother! wake up!! you promised to take me to the amusement park today." Yu Xingyun jumped on Han Zhuoli who was still sleeping peacefully.

Han Zhuoli groaned but didn't make any effort to wake up. He wanted to sleep peacefully after his tiring day at the gym yesterday.

"BROTHER !!!" Yu Xingyun shouted near Han Zhuoli's ear loudly.

Han Zhuoli opened his eyes and rubbed his ear which was ringing loudly. His eyes were still drooping and hazed which were coming in and out of focus.

Han Zhuoli who usually looked handsome looked very cute at this moment.

Yu Xingyun observed Han Zhuoli for a moment before continuing to shake Han Zhuoli.

"What?" Han Zhuoli's hoarse voice sounded annoyed for being waked up so early. Yu Xingyun decided to ignore it and continue his act.

"Brother! How can you forget your promise?" Yu Xingyun said in aggrieved tone knowing his good brother would only get up after seeing him sad.

Han Zhuoli dragged his body out of the bed after seeing his little brother's face scrunched up with tears glistening in his eyes. Han Zhuoli could tell that he was only acting but he didn't want to see him sad. He had always been soft toward the ones he had marked as his own people.

"Alright alright, stop being a drama queen and wait for me to get dressed." Han Zhuoli lazily stretched his waist and pushed Yu Xingyun out of the room.

Yu Xingyun excitedly waited for Han Zhuoli. He had pestered Han Zhuoli to join him for the past week and finally he agreed after seeing him sad and dispirited. From then on he knew Han Zhuoli's weakness and he had the full intention to exploit it.

Han Zhuoli who didn't know that his weakness was already noticed and his bunny's intention to exploit it "....."

Yu Xingyun saw his father peeking at him through the newspaper. Yu Xingyun knew that he was going to be glared at with jealousy by his adorable father. Yes, you heard it right, he thought his father was really adorable. Yu Xingyun always thought that his father was an ice block but his three world views were completely destroyed when he caught his father peeking at Han Zhuoli like a kicked puppy whenever he was ignored.

"Yun! let's go."

Yu Xingyun looked up and saw his brother in a black shirt and ripped jeans. He wasn't wearing any of his earrings today, he was rolling up his sleeves while descending down the stairs.

Han Ying who was observing them finally couldn't hold it and came forward.

"Where are you going?" He asked in his usual cold voice with a hint of grievance.

Han Zhuoli stared at Han Ying with a raised brow feeling that he couldn't understand this father of his till now.

Yu Xingyun covered his mouth with his hands and turned to another side snickering quietly catching the tone of grievance which his brother failed to notice.

"Amusement park" Han Zhuoli swiftly left after his short answer. Yu Xingyun soon followed Han Zhuoli after casting a look of pity on his father who didn't know whether to laugh or cry noticing his pitying look.

"Brother! Come on. Hurry up!"

"I want to ride the roller coaster too!"

Almost everyone turned back twice to look at the two handsome teenagers. The smaller one was in white and the taller one in black. The taller one had a lazy look with his features similar to the smaller one but he had a more mature and handsome face while the smaller one leaned to a more feminine side making him look extremely cute.

"Alright" Han Zhuoli agreed and let Yu Xingyun drag him wherever he wanted. Yu Xingyun was shouting and screaming throughout the whole ride while on the other hand Han Zhuoli's looked like the screams around him were lullaby making him very sleepy. The people couldn't help but stare at them. Their contrast made the people captivated around them, they stood out from the crowd in a glance

"Here" Han Zhuoli pushed the ice cream toward Yu Xingyun who was rubbing his eyes sleepily. He had lots of fun today, this was the best day he ever had. He had never felt so glad that he had tried to get to know his brother. The warmth he felt in his whole life with his family couldn't be compared to the month he had to spend with Han Zhuoli.

"Brother, Did you had fun today?" Yu Xingyun wanted his brother to have fun too, he didn't want to be the only one who enjoyed it. He didn't hear his reply for a long time, he thought that he wasn't going to be answered when he heard his brother's low voice.

"It was fun."

Yu Xingyun had already closed his eyes and fell asleep but he still had a small smile on his face after hearing his answer. Han Zhuoli shook his head and picked up Yu Xingyun who had fallen asleep on the park bench after being too tired. Han Zhuoli gently placed him in the back seat of the car and got in too.

Yu Xingyun sweetly slept in the car and followed Han Zhuoli with half-opened eyes inside the villa. Han Zhuoli stopped in his way and Yu Xingyun bumped into his back. He looked ahead sleepily and saw a silhouette sitting alone on the sofa in the dark.

"Why are you here?" Han Zhuoli was baffled seeing that his father waited for them to return. He switched on the lights and like he thought he saw his father's handsome but tired face.

Han Ying had indeed waited for them to return. He felt wronged knowing that Han Zhuoli forgave Yu Xingyun and treated him like a brother but when it came to him, he was always ignored.

"How did it go?" Han Ying asked referring to their day in the amusement park. Han Zhuoli didn't know what was going on in his father's mind but he still answered honestly.

"We had fun." Yu Xingyun sleepily nodded his head with a grin. Han Ying felt even more gloomy after listening to his answer. He wanted to complain that he was being treated unfairly but he didn't know how to say so instead he turned his head around and stared at the wall, ignoring them.

Han Zhuoli was speechless looking at his father's face which was darker than coal at the moment and he looked like a child throwing tantrums.

"Dad" Han Zhuoli called out softly to his father and the older man's head snapped at him. This was the first time he had been called by his son so he was happy at once. His grievances were also thrown at the back of his mind.

"I have a flight for tomorrow morning." Han Zhuoli rubbed the back of his neck and said awkwardly. Han Ying snapped out of his happy session and even Yu Xingyun who was almost unable to keep his eyes open looked at him wide-eyed.

"Brother !! where are you going?" Yu Xingyun asked nervously.

"Why?" Han Ying asked only one word frowning but anyone could see that he wasn't happy. He hadn't even gotten the chance to get close to him and he was already running away.

"I'm going out of the country for studies," Han Zhuoli said tentatively not expecting such reactions from his brother and father. He had thought that there were still four years for the storyline to start. He thought that he shouldn't get involved in the storyline but he should keep a close eye on the protagonists and all to not let anything unexpected befall on him after all he was a cannon fodder.

"Brother, I'm going wherever you are going." Yu Xingyun said resolutely. Han Ying wanted to nod along with him but sadly he didn't want to drag down his figure more than it already was in front of his son.

"I'm not even your conjoined twin so why do you want to stick to me so badly?" Han Zhuoli was extremely annoyed, he knew that they didn't want to let him go because they were worried about him and he was very thankful for that but he never had someone who interfered with his business or someone who would worry about him so he couldn't get used to it so quickly.

Yu Xingyun stared at Han Zhuoli like a wilted flower. He wished that he could really be his conjoined twin at least they wouldn't be able to separate then but of course, he wouldn't say it out loud.

"Alright"

Yu Xingyun head snapped up and met his eyes with his father's. Yu Xingyun was stunned hearing that his father agreed with his brother's request. Han Zhuoli looked at his father suspiciously but seeing that he looked serious, he released a sigh of relief.

Han Zhuoli nodded his head and went to his room while Yu Xingyun followed him like a lost puppy. Yu Xingyun had so many things he wanted to say but when he opened his mouth no words came out.

Soon they reached in front of his room, Han Ying turned around to see something he didn't expect. Tears dripped down his chin as Yu Xingyun kept wiping them with his sleeves but the tears kept coming without a stop.

Han Zhuoli's heart softened listening to his sniffles. He wrapped his arms around the small figure and rested his chin on top of his head.

"We will have face time every day, okay? You can also come to visit me and before you even know it, I'll be home."

Yu Xingyun nodded his head in his older brother's embrace feeling the warmth that his brother was willing to console him.

"Promise?" Yu Xingyun voice was muffled but Han Zhuoli could still hear his hopes and expectations clearly on that single word.

Han Zhuoli hummed with a soft smile

"It's a promise." Yu Xingyun looked up from his brother's embrace and Han Zhuoli could see his puffy red eyes which made him feel a little discomfort.

"I want to go with you to the airport."

Han Zhuoli looked at the expectant, wide eyes of his brother and nodded his head absentmindedly which brought him a bright smile from Yu Xingyun in return.

Han Zhuoli wouldn't have brought him if he knew that he was going to regret it until his intestines turned green.

Yu Xingyun wailed loudly crying out his name hugging him from behind not letting him move forward and Han Ying who somehow ended up coming with them was holding his hand tightly.

Han Zhuoli lowered his cap and covered half of his face to block the stares from the people around him. Listening to his brother's loud cries and the tight grip on his hand he didn't know why but he felt like he wasn't going abroad for his study but on a battlefield and his family was mourning for his impending doom.

"I'm going to miss my flight if you don't let me go" Han Zhuoli had never felt so frustrated. He thought he had heard his father giving him his permission yesterday then why the heck was he gripping his hand so hard like he was grabbing onto his lifeline.

"Let Me Go !!!" Han Zhuoli gritted his teeth and clenched his jaws. He shouldn't have brought this extra luggage with him to the airport. He wanted to rewind time and let them stay at home obediently.

"NO!" Yu Xingyun shouted back at him.

Han Ying also increased his grip on his hand. Han Zhuoli gave his father a glare making him reluctantly give up but Yu Xingyun was another case, he refused to let him go. Yu Xingyun was clinging to his body like a koala.

Han Zhuoli pried open the hands that were tightly wrapped around him and slipped away. Yu Xingyun tried to jump on him but he was stopped by his brother's extended hand which kept him away from him, no matter how much he struggled he couldn't get close to him.

"Alright, I'm going now." Han Zhuoli declared and left before they could protest. He finally left out a sigh of relief after he was out of their sights.

He is never going to allow them to accompany him to the airport in his life again, he had learned his lesson.
