Chapter 1 - Tangled up

Janelle's p o v-

"Have you ever asked yourself, why do you have those endless needs? Have you ever asked, why do you have those negative thoughts? Or

Why is your life so troublesome? Or

Why do you always end up getting into troubles?

You would be having those thoughts until or unless you assure your failure. Not all of us are failure. We all have our weaknesses though, but to get it over all the way is really tiring.

You won't realize that until or unless you won't meet up with a person who's as lazy as you."

I just ignored my friend's rant. The things she said are somewhat true.

The only one friend I'd have in my life. She's a talkative, annoying and silly yet caring and loving friend. She's enough to handle me. And I don't want anyone else other than her as my friend, well more like best friends since it's been 7 years of friendship. She's been there for me always in my happiness and sadness so I don't want anyone to snatch her away from me. Maybe I am selfish to say that but who'd be willing to be friends with a troublesome girl? Was that even a question? To be honest I'm a girl, who always causes troubles and end up in the same troubles. As the idioms say, "Don't trouble, trouble until trouble troubles you", and "dig your own grave." Creating troubles... I think it's pretty awesome to be punished after getting into troubles. Well, the situation is pretty annoying.

My friend Riya asked me to go out with her to do some weekly shopping. So what's weekly shopping now? It annoys me every time when I think of that question. Why? It's simply that I don't understand the society standards.

Maybe because I'm not from a rich family, or

Maybe because I belong to an average family background? Anyways both are the same and that doesn't mean, I'm from a poor family also. But I don't care and I don't gossip around like what she does. I know she's my friend but her gossips would somehow make me mad at her not because of how loud she could talk but her excitement to know what's happening around and telling the whole thing like sharing the contents of an article. Some would say that I'm crazy to be her friend, but after me getting into troubles constantly they all agreed me to be with her. They all say we're both a good match to be friends.

I'm not from those who'd actually get along with people easily. I'm very glad to say that I'm exceptional and what else?? Janelle Jules yeah I've got a great name though. Well, at least I'm really thankful to my parents for giving me such an extraordinary name. That sounds funny, right? I'm an art student. Bold, cold yet loving and caring to the ones I'm close to.

So weekly shopping uh huh it's obvious you all know about that. So if I ask someone I'd end up in their history class. Well, I'm not interested in humanities. And it's obvious.

So what's the situation? I just got tangled up in a trouble.

We were at the shopping mall, had fun buying new clothes and stuff. Later, Riya asked me to buy her a cappuccino latte. I went inside the coffee shop and ordered our favourite coffee and just like a stupid clumsy person I sat on a chair. I never noticed that there was someone sitting opposite or in front of me. Why would I even care about that? I just took out my phone and called my friend to come over at the café.

"Order no. 134

Here's your order, please enjoy" the waiter gave me a flashy smile.

"Ah thanks" I gave him a slight smile. What else can I do? I cannot ask him to give me his contact info.

I waited and waited for Riya at the café. It felt like already been decades, yet she didn't show up and I lied my head on the table soon I fell asleep. Well, I had an hour's peaceful sleep. Suddenly I realized I'm not at home but still at the café. It was so cosy and the smell of the coffee the mixed up sweetness and bitterness in the air made me to my own dreams. I woke up all of a sudden which made me spill the coffee on the man who was sitting in front of me. I didn't know what to do so without even being a thoughtful one, I took out my phone and called Riya.

"Hey hey you better show up here right now I'm in a trouble", I said to her in a hurry and hang up the call.

"I-I'm s-s-sorry I'm r-really s-sorry" I was stuttering and was so guilty at that time. I didn't even have a glimpse of that man. I neither know who the person nor was I  interested to know about someone whom I just met because of some silly accident like that.

"Hey, you okay? Janelle? You're again in a trouble huh?" She grabbed my wrist and pulled me out of the café and started to question me. I wasn't interested to explain it to her yet I had to.

"Where were you Riya? I waited here with your coffee and you didn't even show up and that's how I fell asleep in the café. You came out to help me until I called you and said that I'm in a trouble. Did you do something stupid again?" My suspicious eyes were fixed on her.

I was hoping that she'd give me some excuses but she got some other story to tell. Yes, I was mad at her for that. It's not like something new that happened to me because it's always the same reason for me to get into troubles like that. Every time, I wait for her and she'll never show up until or unless I'm in some trouble.

Her story was different and of course, I won't believe those lies but I had to pretend that I believe her.

"Jane Jane it's not like what you are thinking. My mom called me and asked me to reach for my uncle he's somewhere around here. So I was waiting for him"; she said with a smile on her face.

"Do you have his contact number or something?"

"No... I forgot to ask mom for his contact number."

"Then how are we going to find him now?" To be honest I got annoyed really. And yes I'm really annoyed now. We don't have his contact number and also my silly friend didn't even ask her mom to give her uncle's contact ID.

"Can you recognize him? At least his face?" I asked her.

"No"

"Then how the hell are we going to find your so-called uncle now? I'm done here. Let's go back inside, apologize to that man and get back home. If you want to find him, then find him yourself."  I cursed almost. I didn't let her speak in the first place, somehow I wasn't ready to listen to her explanation. I was annoyed. But she's my friend I asked her again.

"Do you know his name? His profession? Or anything regarding him?"

"Ah no..." I gave her a confused yet a killer's eye.

That's it I'm done with her. Why is her answer is always no? Is there someone who doesn't know anything about their own family members? If there is someone like that then it's the only her.. I walked back inside the café.
