In front of him, he was encircled by adults who were more powerful than him. Now, he had the Queen, who was at a higher level than him, smiling at him.
The boy stood there, glaring at the Queen. To think it would scare her off. She laughs. Everyone around her looked at her, in fear. Queen Gabriella had never met anyone so small who would give her a death stare.
She glances at her knights and the village guard. Curious, she asks, "What brings you, gentlemen, here?" The village guards gulped nervously. Getting to the point, one of the village guards spoke out.
"I- you see, Your Majesty. This boy here, we were to get him, for Bill the baker by the trouble he carves by not paying the loaf he took."
She hummed to give her attention to her knights. "Ron. May you please change back now?"
Ron nods, running off to the bushes to change back to his original form. The boy didn't fully understand what was going on but stood there dumbfounded.
Who are these people, the boy thought. They did say,"Your Majesty."I do feel a strong aura towards her.
"William," Queen Gabriella gave her attention to her other knight.
"Yes, Your Majesty?"
Staring at the village guards, she moved the fan off her lips, she instructed, "William, may you take these gentlemen back? I'll handle the boy myself. Make sure to tell the baker not to worry about him. I'll pay for the loaf."
"Besides, I want a little discussion with this boy."
Both the guards and the little boy were flabbergasted by what the Queen just said. Why's she being nice? I'm the one who got in trouble. The boy thought, frowning at Her Majesty.
"Yes, Your Majesty," the knight, William said, before facing the guards. "Follow me, please."
The village guards both bowed, "Good day, Your Majesty." The boy watched them take their leave with William before Queen Gabriella spoke once again.
"Now, with you young man," she said, turning serious, with her other knight, Ron, and the maid next to her. "I have to discuss this with my husband later."
The King, the boy thought, trembling in uncertainty. He did give attention to the rumors about the king when he used to live above the skies. By how frightened he was. That he stood in front of the King's wife.
He was flabbergasted. Queen Gabriella could scent the little boy's fear from a distance. She sighs and rubs her pregnant body, "I'm not going to hurt you. I just have a few questions."
Understandably what she expects, the boy nods.
"Why were you in the village stealing a loaf of bread?" Queen Gabriella asks.
"I was hungry," the boy confessed suddenly.
Surprisingly, she didn't expect the boy to converse with her to be so truthful. The boy seems so unhappy and alone in her eyes. As he has been unaccompanied for a while. She never met anyone who made an undertaking to withstand food like him. Other than her knights. So, of course, her knights could recognize the boy's situation.
She hums, and she still asks, "How did you get to Warrenville?"
Him, he just looks at the blue sky where the other angels are there. Dreadful and heartbreaking. Queen Gabriella didn't pressure him further. "I was banned from going back to The City of Bibrense," he said, gazing upright at Her Majesty with his bright blue eyes underneath his dark hair. "Of the difficulties I made at my home. That's how I got here."
The City Of Bibrense? Queen Gabriella reckoned that she had never imagined that kind of place that exists. She didn't know how long this boy had been around her territory, but she needed to figure out what to do with him. For now, she tried to ask him more questions.
"Where's your par -"
The boy cut in, "They're dead, Your Majesty."
Ah, an orphan, she thought.
The maid beside Queen Gabriella gasps. "Oh my God," the maid muttered silently aside.
The boy stepped forward to Her Majesty, to Ron, alert, about to take out his blades for action to protect His Queen, but Queen Gabriella stopped him from doing so.
"Your Majesty. I have a request to make, " the boy confessed.
Her brows raise in question. "Go on," she told him to continue.
This is my only chance of survival, the boy thought.
"I, Sebastian Manzo, want to be stronger. So please, Your Majesty, make me one of your knights, " Sebastian asserted to her so that he could not protractedly be alone at night.
Ron turns to His Queen. "Your Majesty -" Ron starts to be stopped by her hand raised to silence her knight. Ron looked away. "You understand it won't be an easy task," she explained to him.
Sebastian nods."It doesn't matter to me. I want to be strong!"
Queen Gabriella giggles. "Then you, Sebastian Manzo, will become a knight to Warrenville castle. You'll start next week."
"I won't let you down!" Sebastian promised before bowing his head. Queen Gabriella yawns and clasps her hands together. "Ron, may you please show Sebastian to his room? I'll look forward to seeing what you will do. Anna, take me to my room."
"Yes, Your Majesty," both Anna and Ron said. Going in the opposite ways, Sebastian felt his own life was about to change from the differences in his old life. To prove his old life in The City Of Bibrense, he wasn't the useless fallen angel that the others thought of him.
"Well, come on now," he heard Ron order him to follow him. Sebastian looks at Her Majesty once again before following his new partner, the Warrenville knight.
