-LIANNE-
I don't know how this happened but… we just found ourselves crossing the borders of a trackless desert under the scorching heat of the afternoon sun.
This whole place is covered in rolling hills. The wind stirs up the wispy sand and the sun's never-ending rays beat down on us mercilessly. Salty sweat rolls off our nose and stings our eyes. Our clothing is, no doubt, overwhelmingly hot and sticky despite our bath session we had back there at the last city we visited.
The stiff, dry desert breeze blows sand into our eyes and makes our hair stiff with salt. And sure enough, our tongue feels as if it's coated in fur and our lips are chapped and dry like it's longing for crystal, cold water.
Leo can't take it anymore. He snapped his head at Aiden, who held the map in his hands.
"Why didn't you inform us that we are about to cross a deserted land?" he asked in his annoyed tone.
