Special Chapter #3
Lucas' POV
(Let's rewind to that scene where Charm and her gang were still in the Arachid's cave…)

"I'll be the one to take care of the residents. You must help Charm and see how she's doing now." suggested Johanne, you know this stranger whom Charm left me with to rescue these people.
I nodded. "Alright I will."
To be honest, up until now my inner self is still not agreeing to help these mortals. But then I came to realize that girl is right… Revenge is not the right thing to do. Plus no matter what I'll do, it will not bring my parents back to life ever again.
"Charm, are you alright? Johanne and the residents were able to escape from here-- woah! What happened here!?"
The moment I arrived at the Arachnid's chamber, my eyes instantly widened at the sight of the monster being doubled right before my eyes.
Well, my bad. I forgot to warn her of its secret potential earlier. That whosoever would slice up its body will just multiply its number into two.
"Did you just split the Arachnid into two? I forgot to mention earlier that its number would multiply once you cut it through his body."
As expected, I saw Charm almost glaring at me as she turned her head to look at my direction.
"I'm fine." I heard her respond.
She says she's fine but I can visibly see the tiredness she must be feeling right now. Her rapid breathing is one of its evidence.
Until now, I can't still understand the reason as to why she is so willing to risk her life just to rescue these mortals… who in turn is the reason why some of our lives have been miserable right now.
"Anyway, I know its weakness…" I said that I know sparked her attention.
Before she could even respond to that, I noticed these Arachnids are now dashing their way towards us, which caused me and Charm to separate ways while we simultaneously dodged their attacks.
"I also have a guess as to what it is!" she said loudly for me to hear. "It's fire, right?"
Ohh… that kinda impressed me a bit.
"Not just fire, but sunlight!" I also said in a loud voice.
It's a good thing that dawn is almost up and the sun will rise any time from now. All we have to do is to provoke these monsters for them to go out from this cave and expose them under the heat of sunlight.
I bet Charm is also thinking the same thing since I noticed her purposely throwing two fireballs to each Arachnid, that made them furiously turn to face her.
"Hey! Over here! Come and get me!" she said in the intention of provoking these monsters.
That seemed to have an effect on these two since the moment Charm started to run, they also started to chase after her. That's also the cue for me to run along with her as well.
Unfortunately though, I was not born to be a fast runner. I know that because of me, Charm wasn't able to reach the entrance in time before one of the Arachnids spit its web to block our path. I apologetically looked at her from behind.
However, the things that will happen next got me freaking surprised. For real.
"Flamma Thrower!"
I was so shocked that my jaw literally dropped the moment I heard her casted a level 5 fire spell. I mean, isn't she a wind magic wielder? I've seen her use wind spells during our encounter earlier. So how come she can also use the element of fire, with this knowledge that I have that I thought only one element is allowed per deity?
Not unless… if she was that chosen one whom the supreme deities prophesied long ago? I heard it from my parents way back when they are still alive, that there is this one being whom the supreme deities will choose to redeem our kind from mortals.
***
"At the right time, there will be one who shall end this chaos on our land, and redeem mankind from completely falling into destruction."
***
I remembered these were the words of my mother way back when I was still a child.
Could it be… that I finally found the chosen one?
I was suddenly pulled out from my train of thoughts and regained my senses when I felt Charm's hand firmly holding my right hand and pulled me along with her as we ran away from these monsters, who are now chasing us from behind.
My mouth slightly opened to protest, but then I shut it right away and chose to remain silent as we ran our way towards the exit point of this cave.
*Badump… badump*
My eyes mentally widened when I suddenly felt my heart flutter for the first time in my whole life as I looked at our hands being intertwined to each other at the moment.
From our hands, my gaze landed on the figure of this girl who is in front of me right now… the girl who taught me how to change for good...
Little did I know, a slight smile curved up at the corner of my lips.
