Chapter 18 - The Blessing's Power

-Charm's POV-

In the middle of this sacred room lies Deity Roku's spring that is currently being surrounded in a bluish light. After I heard his gentle, soothing voice, I hastily went near to his spring.

"Thank you for coming Charm. Your presence made my spring come back to life once more." I heard him say.

I slightly bowed my head to show my respect to the supreme deity before I decided to speak.

"I am very well pleased to be in the presence of your spring, Deity Roku. And I'm glad that it once again came back to life. " My eyes then were glued on the ground, feeling anxious all of a sudden. "However, can I request something from you in return?"

"Very well. What is it?" the deity responded.

"We are about to face an upcoming crisis today. Danger awaits on Ziv Village wherein a battalion of soldiers which came from Citadel is now on its way to wipe out the entire village. I only have one friend, Aurora, who will help me against these soldiers, so we are clearly outnumbered..." I thoroughly explained our situation.

I paused for a moment, and heaved out a long sigh that I never thought I was holding on until now, before I continued...

"So therefore, I would like to ask from you, to lend me a portion of your power to help us defeat these conquerors." I pleaded.

I am completely aware that what I am asking from the supreme deity is kinda selfish, but if it's the only way to defeat those soldiers and free Ziv Village from bondage, then I would do all means to help them.

"If that's what you desire, I would be honored to help you in your mission." Deity Roku responded. My eyes automatically looked up at the spring once more.

"Thank you Deity Roku!" I suddenly screamed in excitement.

Then afterwards I suddenly became conscious of what I've just done so I slightly bowed again to show my respect.

"I mean... thank you so much for all your help Deity Roku." I formally said.

After that brief conversation with the supreme deity, we then started the ritual of giving his blessing and a portion of power to me.

Aurora's POV

As soon as I was done eating my breakfast, I suddenly heard a commotion from the outside. Then I saw one resident of the village hastily moving towards each house he passes by, including this one, and shouts at the top of his lungs.

"THEY'RE COMING!"

My eyes widened by what I have just heard.

What the heck. Man, they are a little bit too early to come here. I just had my breakfast for goodness' sake.

Anyway, I decided to quit my yapping and magically formed my wand in my hands before doing some teleportation towards North Coast.

As soon as I arrived at the place, I was soon greeted by the vast blanket of white mists of what seems like fog that lingers all over the place, making it hard for me to see for the upcoming soldiers on the way. So I decided to hide behind a huge ice glacier and waited for any ships to dock on the shore.

At first, I only saw a silhouette of a seemingly large ship from here, but later on I finally got a glimpse of its true form as soon as it approached the shore.

Alright! Time for me to attack!

Before that ship can completely make its way on the shore, I chanted a level 4 ice spell to stop its movement.

"Bite Cicero!"

Just like what I did to Charm and to her pet tiger before, I used this same type of ice spell to freeze the upcoming ship. Within the ship's area, it was soon covered in solid ice, making it hard for them to move towards the shore. Not only that, the ship's body is now slowly being covered with blocks of ice as well, starting from its base.

I smirked at the sight.

It looks like my job here is done! I didn't know it would be this easy- woah!

I gasped in astonishment the moment I turned again to look at the ship. Behind that ship are many more silhouettes surfacing on this foggy weather. I mentally counted them all, and I think there's five upcoming warships that are on the way right at this moment.

Regaining back my senses, I continued to shoot each one of them with my freezing spell and instantly freeze two upcoming ships. Then I swiftly averted my gaze on the three remaining ships and shot my freezing spell as well.

But how come there are more upcoming ships on the way after I have finished all five of those ships I just counted?

I am now starting to get tired of using magic beyond my limitation but I still tried my best to stop these warships from reaching the surface.

Later on, I felt that something is coming towards my direction so I quickly moved out of its way, then I heard a loud blast upon dodging it. As I looked to the direction where I think that attack came from, these soldiers from these ships were now using their canyons and started to shoot large piles of rocks towards me.

I countered attack this by shooting large blocks of ice towards the direction of the canyons that easily destroy those things one by one, but then when I looked once more on the right side of the shore, My eyes widened at the sight of more upcoming ships already reaching the shore while I was too busy dealing with these canyons.

Geez! What do I do now?

Charm... where the heck are you? I badly need your help, like right now!

"I'm sorry if I'm late."

As if on cue, I was startled to hear that familiar voice of my friend who just spoke earlier. I blinked a couple of times, looking a bit flabbergasted over here as I saw the image of Charm standing in front of me.

"Thank you for all your help." she rested one hand on my shoulder. "But I will take it from here."

She now started to take a few steps forward, with her wand clutching on her right hand, before I heard her chant a level 5 water spell.

"Hydro Flagellum!"

How did she manage to cast a water spell? I thought she's a fire magic wielder?

Tons of water soon rose and formed an immensely long whip-like structure that Charm used to smash down the canyons. With just a quick, powerful smash, all canyons from the ships were instantly wiped out.

After she was able to destroy those canyons, Charm raised her wand, and I heard her chanted an incantation that I thought only supreme deities can use.

"Et Roku in me in virtute divinitatis..." Charm's whole body is now completely being surrounded by a bluish, blinding light that automatically makes me look away from her.

I was stunned from what I saw just now. I haven't felt this intense, powerful magical force in my entire life!

"Audi me fluctus o! HicTransi hinc, et qui vult purgare provenerint!"

I decided to take another glimpse of what's currently happening. My eyes instantly widened at the sight of the ocean waters being pulled back with just one swing from Charm's wand. Along with these waves being pulled back are those warships that are being carried with it as well.

Several cries from the soldiers on those warships can now be heard, desperately pleading for their lives. There were several ships that, upon colliding with one another, flames soon emerged from it but Charm instantly took care of it by washing it off with a splash of the ocean waters.

But if there's anything more amazing than what is happening right now is the fact that Charm started to float several feet above the ground and flew her way towards our enemies.

"PEOPLE OF CITADEL!" that deep, manly voice shouted.

It didn't take that long for me to realize that it's not Charm who's currently speaking with the soldiers, but it is Deity Roku himself being in Charm's body. I instantly showed my respect by bowing my head.

No wonder... Charm is indeed the chosen one!

"Please, we beg you! Spare our lives!" pleaded by these soldiers who somehow managed to survive with Charm's attack earlier... in Deity Roku's presence.

"I HOPE THIS WOULD BE THE LAST TIME THAT I'LL WARN YOU BECAUSE OF YOUR WICKED WAYS! NEVER AGAIN SET FOOT ON THIS VILLAGE AND GO BACK TO WHERE YOU BELONG!" warned by the supreme deity in his full authority.

After that, I heard machines roaring to life as each motorboats are now being sent out from the warships that were destroyed. Each motorboat is composed of several lucky soldiers who managed to live. And with that, they hastily fled from our sight.

As soon as they are now out of our sight, the bluish light that is covering up Charm's entire body is now slowly fading from her along with her wand... as her body is now slowly flying back to the shore. Few moments later, her body slowly descended from several feet above the ground, and I hurriedly ran my way to greet her.

I was about to congratulate her for a job well done driving off those soldiers away from the village but I was a bit surprised when she lost her consciousness and landed on the snowy ground- face first.

"CHARM!"
