Christmas Day, 2027

N's POV
"Merry Christmas, Kadie and Jacob," I tell my twin babies. They respond with a coo and look so adorable in their cribs.
Kadie is the firstborn, and Jacob was born three and a half hours apart. I bet when they grow up, they'll have arguments on who is in charge; I can picture it now. The thought of it is cute and hilarious to me.
They are almost one month old; their birth was on November 29th. Kalisha's pregnancy was a unique but frightening experience. Her mood frequently changed. She could be happy, hilarious, romantic, and horny in different moments; then, she can get sad and violent in another. Never make her angry because she will slap harder than Shani. She was coughing and throwing up a lot of blood. The babies repeatedly kicked her stomach. It's not small kicks; they kicked like they were trying to win the World Cup. It caused physical pain for her.
Also, she's been killing a lot more humans and sucking their blood to satisfy her cravings and to keep the babies healthy. Pregnant vampires need a lot of human blood inside them so that the pain will go away and there's enough blood flowing for the babies.
During the actual birthing process, it was a war zone. Kalisha yelled for her life, trying to push these babies out. Her shrieks were so loud that the entire hospital heard, and eardrums were bleeding for some beings. I was afraid to hold her hand because I knew she would squeeze the life out of it. So I just grabbed her arm. There was an excess amount of blood coming out from her vagina. I never witnessed so much blood before, which is surprising for a vampire-like myself.
Thankfully, the pregnancy went well. I was afraid that I was going to lose her. Seeing female vampires get pregnant is so rare, and thought only exists in the movies. But it wouldn't make sense for me to be born if my mom wasn't pregnant. So female vampires can get pregnant, and my wife proved that.
Right now, she is reading an online book. Lately, she has been getting into reading, mostly erotica and romantic books. She doesn't enjoy reading any other book genre since she wants to feel good and happy all the time.
After the pregnancy, she was feeling so depressed. It worried me because I didn't know why she was sad all of a sudden. Then, I realized that she had Postpartum Depression, which is very common for many women, not just vampires, to experience. All I could do is comfort her when needed and be the best husband I can.
She won't be the only one looking after or taking care of our babies. I help out a lot, making sure that the babies are eating well and they have a fatherly figure in their lives. The major stereotype for African-American men is that they leave their wives and kids or are not good fathers. Sadly, some black men do those things. But I want to make sure I will always be there for my wife and kids. I'm even learning how to cook. Many men and women don't find a man cooking to be masculine, but I don't care. I love cooking for my family and making them feel happy.
I stopped caring about what society thinks of me. I don't care how feminine or masculine I act. Cleaning, cooking, and taking care of children shouldn't be only for women. I enjoy washing dishes, cooking a meal, and being there for my children. Plus, I'm still a man regardless of what I do or how I act. I don't care if I don't do regular stuff that most Africans are into. I'm not that into sports; honestly, I find football to be boring. I can't dance to save my life, and I have a terrible singing voice. But I'm still a Sierra Leonean by heart; no one can take that away from me.
I do have work to accomplish. I became the CEO of VampVids. After the riots happened and the world was exposed to vampires, many people started buying products. Now it's a multi-million dollar company and is growing every day. Since I'm the CEO, I make $200,000 a month, which made me buy my family a beach house. I was able to let my family from Sierra Leone come to America and live life here.
Also, Black Vampires Unite is not only a protest group, but it's also an organization. It helps out black vampires and humans who are wrongfully accused of a crime. We raise money to help them get their freedom back.
Speaking of businesses succeeded, Shani's Salon has been booming. A lot more women have been going there. Shani frequently gets calls and bookings every day. Everyone in the salon, especially Shani and Ebele, gets paid a lot.
I'm proud of Shani. Lately, she has been learning how to control her anger. She still slaps and attacks men who harm her or her loved ones. But she's becoming more interactive with men. She even managed to get a date with a man that treats her right.
Ebele is getting accepted by plenty of individuals. Some other non-binary people and vampires look up to Ebele. I'm happy that life is treating them well.
Queen Gugu decided to retire as Queen. She made Kalisha and I the new queen and king of the Yoruba vampires. Even though I am not Nigerian, I appreciate having the honor to be king. Queen Gugu still helps out other vampires, primarily black-owned vampire businesses, to succeed.
Grandma Nomusa and Aunty Chipo still look after the mansion. They help Queen Gugu out and make sure things get accomplished. Also, they make their own money by selling fish. It was Grandma Nomusa's idea since she loves to fish.
Mitch and Kelsy are still landlords for Queen Gugu. But they help out multiple vampires with their houses. Even give homes and food to homeless and starving vampires. They are still happily married.
Dadi or David, I should say, is still in the asylum. The last time I heard from him is that he tried to create a sex cult with female patients. But the asylum wasn't having any of that. It looks like he is not leaving anytime soon. There are no signs of him changing his filthy ways.
President Jones is still president of the United States. But the 2028 election is coming up very soon. I hope the election goes well because America only needs the best. I won't mind if President Jones wins again, mostly all that he has done for me. I will always appreciate him for that.
As for the Charlottesville Police Department, it's getting better. Amanda Brack has been appointed as the new commissioner, becoming the few ladies to have that position. Officer Durant is now the new Chief of Police. Officer Jordan is the lieutenant. The department hired new officers who don't have any racist backgrounds. These officers were trained for months on how to do their jobs properly.
As for George Adams, he has been sentenced to 25 to life. I would call that unfair, but he won't last long in prison. First off, he is old, and his life span is ticking away. Second, he is going to be filled with black men. I bet he arrested, attacked, or wrongfully accused some of them. So they will have a good time getting their revenge. I wasn't able to kill him, but I believe the inmates will take care of that. Lastly, even if he does get out, he has nowhere to go or people to help him out. His wife divorced him, his house got sold, he lost his position as commissioner; the police department doesn't want anything to do with him anymore, the president hates him, and the world knows how evil he truly is. This is justice finally being served.
I'm still sad that my parents had to die at the hands. But I'm happy that their suffering is officially gone. I can't change what happened in the past, but at least there's a better present and future. I still have my parent's jewelry to keep their legacy alive. Once my kids are older and responsible, I will pass the jewelry on to them. Hopefully, they do the same to their children and so on. I love my parents so much. They are the reason why I'm still alive and living well.
Even though my pain and suffering are over, there are still others dealing with racism and police brutality. While my wife and I were in Nigeria, there have been plenty of cases where innocent black vampires got harmed, discriminated against, and killed. Some people wanted George Adams to be set free because they thought his sentence was unfair. So the fight to end racism and police brutality is still not over. Change doesn't happen overnight, and it's going to take a while for people to accept black vampires. But I know we will survive and prove how important we are in the world.
Kadie and Jacob are crying, so I pick both of them up. Head to the living room where my wife is.
"Abeg, wetin happen?" Kalisha asks, sitting on the couch and reading a random romance book.
"They woke up crying. I think they want attention from their parents." I speculate.
"Nawa o," She responds.
"Alright, bring Kadie and Jacob here. Let's spend time together as a family." Kalisha tells me.
I am bringing the babies to her. I sit down close to her, holding Jacob. I kiss my wife, Kadie, and Jacob on the forehead. The babies cooed.
"What book are you reading, babe?" I ask her.
"It's called Final Relationship. It's about these two unlikely couples forming a relationship together. But tragedy struck, which causes them to have their final relationship." She explains.
"Sounds fascinating; who wrote it?" I ask.
"Some author named Terry. But that's not what's important, let's give our babies advice. We have to teach them how important they are in the world and warn them about evil beings." She insists.
"That's a good idea. How about you start? Let Kadie know everything." I tell her. She looks at Kadie and speaks to her.
"Kadie, you are so beautiful. Looking at you right now brings me joy. Don't let anyone bring you down. The world is harsh on women, but they are brutal when it comes to black and African women. They only see you as a sexual beast who is alive to serve and please men. There will be boys that will try to take advantage of you and make you feel less important. But here's what I got to tell you, you are important. They just hate because you got magic that only black and African women can feel. Continue expressing your femininity, showing off your hair, nails, makeup, body, muscles, thoughts, and brains. You will be successful and not have to rely on a guy to help you. Be an inspiration to all black and African women. I love you very much." She tells her daughter, which made me feel happy for both of them. Seeing a mother interacting with a daughter is a beautiful sight to witness.
"Well, it looks like it's my turn. Hope you're prepared, Jacob, because this will touch your tiny heart." I tell him; Kalisha chuckles.
"Jacob, you are your boss. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. There will be individuals that will try to bully you or make you feel small. Just continue being yourself and show the world that you are a king. As a king, you must always treat women with respect. Don't be like these guys that only care about their dicks and sex. Take time to listen, learn, understand, cherish, and honor women. When you get your significant other, love her as your life depends on it. You are still a man no matter what you want to do in life. Don't change who you are to impress a woman; just be confident in yourself. It's okay to show your emotions and weaknesses. You will be a great king. I love you so much." I said.
"Wow, that was beautiful." My wife comments.
"Thank you so much," I replied, giving her a quick kiss.
"What do you want to this Christmas Day?" She asks.
"I booked us a nice and expensive family restaurant to go to. I ordered presents for all of us. You will especially love the gift I bought for you." I tell her.
"What gift did you bought me?" She asks, giving me the puppy eye look.
"It's a surprise," I teased her.
"If you don't tell me, then you will be resting with the babies tonight. No loving from your wife." She pouts and crosses her arms.
"Alright, it's a romance book. Most specifically, an African vampire romance book. It's called My Heart Bleeds For You." I reveal to her.
"Aww, thank you so much, boo!" She squeals and kisses me.
"I will do anything for you," I said.
"I know. That's why I love you. You are the only man I need." She tells me.
"You are the only woman I need. I love you so much." I tell her.
"As for you, Kadie and Jacob, I love you two so much. You will be an inspiration and make a difference in the world. You two are strong, beautiful, smart, rich, and have royalty. Be proud of being vampires. Be proud of your gender and life. Be proud of your skin color and race. Don't let anyone try to tear off your skin."
The end
