Hi.
As promised, I've come back to update my readers about this novel. After quickly skimming through the current arc (The Depths of Tartarus), I could clearly sense the huge dip in my enthusiasm when it came to writing in general.
This year, I'm sure as it is probably for many of us, has been full of all sorts of difficulties. However, aside from experiencing many issues, I've also experienced a ton of growth and self-discovery.
After a long time of being on this Earth, I've finally decided to pick a path; out of the many I've been interested in.
I've decided to become a writer.
Unfortunately, as soon as I've done so, I hit a ton of roadblocks. I quickly became overwhelmed, while at the same time, I bore immense guilt on my shoulders.
This guilt stemmed from two projects that are still incomplete to this day.
A lot has happened. Every time I reached a wall in either my career or in life, my mind would wander and think of an escape. And that escape is in the form of 'better' projects or 'better' ideas—ones that I think are more exciting than the last—ones that might actually hold my interest this time around.
But I suppose as I grew more this year, I started to develop this feeling of wanting to face the things I've had difficulty with in my past projects. I want to find a way to fix them—and above all, I want to finish them.
I know it may feel like I am going backward for some, but I am truly sorry to those following this novel.
I don't want to make empty promises, so I understand if you would like to take this novel out of your library as I complete two of my projects.
I'll be honest; I don't know what's to become of this novel.
I think it's way too ambitious for my current skill level. Though perhaps, completing my first two is what I need to find the confidence to continue this.
Also, at the same time, this novel is a big challenge that I'd like to undertake—as it's in preparation for a really huge project I've been slowly putting together. That novel will have a male protagonist, and the genre will be fantasy-magic.
If I don't complete this particular book, I think my expectations for that novel will fall short. However, I understand that sometimes, spending too much time on too many projects may cause one's downfall.
Anyway, the future is unclear, but if you've been a fan of my work, I hope you continue to stick around and see my progress either way.
Regardless, I will do my best to update here, though. I don't want to leave anyone wondering where Ankth has run off to or how she's doing at the moment, haha.
Sincerely,
Ankth
