Carter Willis was the son of owner and founder of Willis security services, Geoff Willis. The company was famous worldwide for providing exceptional security services and their clients included many famous and important people across the globe. The company's employees included a set of professional detectives, trained bodyguards and a well equipped and educated IT department. Company's strong points were its 13Ds - 13 Daredevils. It was a team of 13 highly trained and experienced bodyguards and detectives who were often sent on missions for protecting and solving cases concerning famous celebrities and important individuals. No one knew their identity. They did their work discreetly and till now...none of their identities was known to anyone.
Carter was one of the 13Ds.
He got his first assignment at the age of 16. No one knew about it. He was often away on missions and missed his classes. However, he was good at studies. He excelled at all the subjects and hence no one questioned him. Everyone believed that he worked in his father's office as he was going to takeover the company eventually.
Last month his father called him in his office to assign him his new mission. When he opened the file, needless to say , he was taken aback.
Amayra Vice...
The girl in the photograph had weird blue and violet hair. She was dressed in a filthy plain white top and a black legging. She didn't looked like an important person or famous or rich. She looked like a homeless child and not someone relevant. However, there was one thing that convinced Carter that she needed his services....and that was....the fear in her eyes.
The next surprise hit him when he was informed that she would be joining The Hope Academy....the very same place where he studied.
For the past month, Carter's days were spent in training for his mission while his nights were spent in thoughts of a certain violet and blue headed girl....
Amayra...
He liked the sound of her name. Why....he didn't know yet....
Today was a special day for him. He knew it would be her first day in the academy and he wanted to ensure that she was safe and no one bullied her. He left his dorm room earlier than usual because he suspected that Amayra too would be out there. He slung his bag on his shoulder and left for the main building.
While he was crossing the park in front of the Boy's dorm building , he pulled out his phone to check Amayra's location.
She was still in her dorm. Carter breathed a sigh of relief. but then he caught someone's reflection on his phone screen.
Someone is following me.....
He didn't stop. He kept walking but was aware of the footsteps following him. He diverted his route to keep Amayra out of trouble. If the person following him crossed his path with Amayra..he would surely take a pick at Amayra.....and Carter can't let that happen.
Instead of going to the main building, Carter diverted from his route and headed towards the swimming pool that was behind the last block of the academy. While on his way, Carter could tell that his stalker was going to attack soon.
His footsteps....
Carter was right.
As soon as he reached the swimming pool area, his stalker aimed at his back with a knife, but Carter dodged it easily and got a hold of his wrist. His stalker was strong , he would give him that. Carter kept his hold on his wrist and lifted his left leg to kick him, but at the same time the stalker pulled out another knife from his pocket with his free hand and stabbed Carter in the side of his stomach. However, the knife wasn't sharp enough and Carter was unaffected by it. Carter punched him on his face which was covered with a black mask. He kept throwing punches at his face and stomach and his stalker dodged some but was awarded with a broken nose. In his attempts to escape from Carter, his stalker flicked his knife on Carter's arm. Suddenly, Carter pushed his stalker in the swimming pool. His stalker fell into the swimming pool with a splash. His attacker struggled to breath and started flapping his hands in water due to which Carter's shirt got drenched too.
Carter was going to take him out of the pool and beat the crap out of him when his phone beeped, signalling that Amayra has already entered the building. He contemplated for a few seconds and then decided to go after Amayra. But before leaving he grabbed the collar of his attacker pulled him up in the air and tore away his black mask revealing one of his classmate.
Carter smirked knowingly.
He knew who sent him....
He swiftly pulled him out of water and pushed him on the floor and left to find Amayra.Instead of going to the main building, he made his way to the fifth building. He checked Amayra's location and found her in second building. He then noticed the route Amayra followed. He slightly chuckled under his breath.
This girl is really bad at directions.....
He quietly made his way through the Fifth building and kept walking for the fourth building. If his calculation was right, Amayra would reach the fourth building by the time he cleaned his wound. On reaching the fourth building, he quietly entered the Janitors Closet and pulled out his first aid kit that he always kept in his bag. He pulled his shirt over his head, slightly wincing. He then cleaned the cut on his abdomen and dressed it properly. He cleaned the cut on his arm and started dressing it, hissing in pain. The cut on his arm was deeper than the one on the side of his stomach. Just when he was securing the bandage, he heard someone's footsteps. He paused and tried to listen carefully. The person was clearly heading towards him.
A few seconds later the door opened and was followed by a scream.
He turned around and was surprised to see the violet headed girl standing in front of him, covering her eyes.
Why is she covering her eyes...??
It took him a few second to realise that he was not wearing a shirt.
"Shit..!" He cursed and pulled out a grey T-shirt from his bag and quickly put it on, managing to scrap the bandage on his abdomen. When he turned around, Amayra was nowhere in sight. He slung his bag on one shoulder and ran.
He kept running and shouting at her to wait , but she constantly ignored him and increased her pace.
For a short person, she surely runs fast.....
Soon, he caught up with her and got a hold of her bag strap. When he turned her around, he wasn't sure that he was surprised or shocked. The girl in front her looked nothing like the girl in the photograph. The girl standing in front of him looked healthier, her cheeks flushed from running , eyes coated with a thick line of black liner and her hair were no longer left loose but braided neatly. Her eyes were closed.
Carter took his time to examine her face. He scanned her face as if memorising it. And then, he smiled at her.He felt a foreign feeling of warmth and comfort crawling up his spine.
The way she reacted to Carter amused him more than anything. He suddenly felt a need to protect her from everyone and everything. He knew she was nervous and afraid and he vowed to keep her safe. The whole time he was talking to her, he couldn't help but look into her eyes. He was already losing himself in her eyes. Eyes that held fear...dread...and innocence.
When the bell rang, he took a hold of her hand and started walking to their class, his smile never leaving his face. They were on their way, when he received a message. He stopped walking but didn't left her hand. He pulled out his phone from his pocket and internally cursed the messenger. But as soon as he read the message, his forehead creased with worry. He glanced at Amayra and then at his phone screen. The message he received made him sick in his stomach.
This is bad...
really bad....
Amayra was sharing a room with HER.
