Chapter 51 - Temporary Hiatus Announcement

Dear Readers,

I would like to announce a hiatus announcement by the end of the first volume. I apologize for the cliff-hangers and I hope I could resume this book as soon as possible.

There were multiple reasons as to why I had to announce a hiatus and I would be listing them here.

Firstly, I just recently got full-time work at web dev company after being a trainee and part-time worker for two years. Of course, with pay-raise comes more working hours. I had to work forty hours a week now. With that, I'm kind of having a hard time adjusting to my schedule. Although I could write a chapter in less than thirty minutes, the load of study and research that I need to do was taking a toll on me. I need to study a lot in order to catch up with the tasks I've bee assigned to at work. With this temporary hiatus, I could get used to my new schedule and gradually fit updating my novels.

Second, I will be attending an important annual conference in a month and I had to prepare for it. The conference would last a week and I wouldn't be able to write nor update my novels during that time. That said, another goal for this temporary hiatus is to stockpile on chapters and solidify my plot. As a writer, it would be a disgrace for me if I publish a half-assed chapter. Even without an editor at the moment, I work hard to perfect every chapter to deliver the story and give my plot and novel the justice they deserve.

Last but not the least, this is actually a contracted work... well, not yet.

When I published the initial chapter of this novel on this platform, I had the opportunity to apply for a contract and they reviewed my book. It passed and I signed the contract but until now, I'm still not yet verified as a contracted author.

Due to some complications, my contract kept on getting rejected. The complications were partly on my part because I don't have a bank account. I'm still young and in my country, it's hard to get government ID's much less a bank account when you're not yet an adult. Because of that, I had to sign another form and attach it to the webnovel contract with additional ID's and paperwork. I've already submitted the contract more than ten times now and they kept on getting rejected. The reasons for rejection were different every time and my assigned editor (still not yet my editor since I don't have a verified contract yet) is helping me one step at a time. It's probably very hard for him and there were times when I want to give up but he was there assisting me and it motivated me to not throw in the towel yet.

I know that as a writer, the only thing I need to focus is the enjoyment of my fanbase and readers. Although there are still a few of you at the moment, I'm thankful for all of your support. I know I have to etch the writer's mindset in my mind but sometimes, I doubt that my book is contract-worthy even though it certainly is. That being said, I'm tired of troubleshooting and sending my contract again and again.

That doesn't mean I will give up on it. What I mean is, I would resolve this contract first so I could solely focus on writing in the near future.

But I just want to lay this on the table: Whether or not my contract gets verified or not... I WILL FINISH THIS BOOK. That much is a given so you don't have to worry about anything.

I hope you support me on this.

And as always, thank you for supporting me on the release of the first volume of my book. I will hone my skills during this hiatus and will release the second volume with higher quality than the first! I promise!

Sincerely.

P.S. Runners Survivors will continue on October 3, look forward to it! If I could resolve everything before then, then I guarantee that I will update it earlier.

P.P.S. If you would like to see more of my works, then you could visit me on the wp platform and you can search for me on the same name. If you want any of my books to be published here then hit me up in the comments any time!
