"Freckles, Freckles." Red softly called out, lightly slapping Freckles on the cheeks as she grunted in her sleep. "We're here."
There was a moment's pause while Freckles turned her head. But to Red's surprise, she was still sleeping. With her eyes closed, she was the epitome of gentleness. Even Red was beginning to contemplate whether to leave her alone or not.
No that would be dangerous. I can't leave her here in the open. Red said to himself. This time, he slapped her on the cheeks a little bit harder. "Freckles, you have to wake up. We're here."
Freckle's eyelashes fluttered as she opened her eyes, barely revealing the faint brownish hue on her irises. Nevertheless, her prepossessing eyes were not enough to faze Red as he slapped him a bit harder than normal. In a split second, Freckles bolted upright from where she was and darted her face right and left with her arms on the guard.
