"It's just over that wall." Sarge said, pointing to the brick wall in front of them, or rather, what was left of it.
The majority of the wall was still erect, but there were portions of it that was destroyed so it couldn't really be considered a wall anymore. In any case, the destroyed sections of the wall made it easier for the trio to get past it. Ms. Croft was about to cross the other side of the wall when they heard some indistinct noises from the other side.
Before Ms. Croft could go any further, Sarge grabbed her by the wrist and stopped her. This made Ms. Croft almost retaliate, thinking that it was Wilder Barnes who grabbed her by the hand. "What are you do-" She couldn't finish what he was about to say.
"Something's out of place." Peering in, Sarge tried to make out what was happening behind the walls.
That's when they heard gunshots.
