"Where are you going?" His told was controlling and possessive.
Amarya clucked her tongue. Clingy boys were unbelievably unknowing. She wrenched her wrist out of his grip and said, "Take a hint, Damien."
"What do you mean? Amarya. Amarya!"
Amarya rubbed her temples as she took off down the street. "Stop chasing me, you fucking psycho!" she shrieked at the boy hounding after her.
Her words caused Damien's eyebrows to crease and the corners of his lips to draw back into a frown.
"Who is it?" Damien yelled as he ran after her. With his long legs, he could've easily caught up to Amarya, but he enjoyed the chase's excitement.
"Huh?" Amarya furrowed her brows in confusion. "What are you on?"
"Who's your new guy?" Damien elaborated.
Amarya guffawed. New guy? What was he talking about? Suddenly, the pieces pieced together in her head. It seemed that the leader of the Eagles had fallen for her incessant flirtations.
With an arrogant smirk, she sang, "None of your business."
Damien growled and accelerated behind her. The sound of his ever-increasing footsteps sent a shot of adrenaline running through Amarya's blood.
"Who is it?" Damien repeated.
"Jesus, why do you want to know so bad?" Amarya shrieked at him. Her breaths were labored from her heart rate that only continued to accelerate, breaching the 190s.
Amarya looked behind her just in time to see Damien's hand reached out to grab her hair. She shrieked in surprise, swatted away his hand, and nearly tripped over her own feet in her shock.
"Fine. You want to know? It's not a guy," Amarya panted.
"What?" Damien murmured in confusion. He came to a halt in front of Amarya, who had also stopped sprinting. "What do you mean?"
"It's a girl."
Damien reeled backward in confusion. "A-A girl?" His eyebrows raised, and he looked as though he had just been rejected form his dream college. "You're bi? You never told me!"
Amarya avoided his question concerning her sexuality. "It's none of your business."
She huffed and spun on her heels. But before her heel could touch the ground, Damien furiously yanked her ponytail.
Amarya roared in both anger and pain. Her once innocent and youthful expression turned into one that would be featured in horror movies. Furious, she clawed at his face, too blinded by her anger to notice that this wasn't just any boy—it was the Eagles' leader.
"So you're not coming back to the Eagles?"
Amarya wrestled her hair from his iron grip, and in the process, shed a few strands of her glistening blonde hair, which was made apparent by the long, silky strings of hair that remained clutched in his hand.
Damien stared at them with great interest, as if he were looking at a priceless artifact imported from overseas.
"You psycho," Amarya hissed as she turned and walked away.
This time, Damien didn't bother to follow her. Instead, he watched her darkly with a sinister chuckle. "Oh, and you aren't?"

"Rem~" Amarya sang as she skipped down the hallway for juniors. She was one year Rem's junior, making her sophomore. And in the short time since she had come to M High School, her popularity had grown dramatically.
Her name commonly appeared in all grade levels' conversations, and her cute, lovable appearance made her the center of many boys' affections. Of course, this didn't sit well with the girls, especially the ones in her class.
"Ugh, she's such a slut," a girl from Amarya's class eyed her as she skipped past them. She, along with another girl, had visited the junior hallway to pursue their beloved senpais.
"What do people even see in her? Are they pedophiles? She looks like a child!" the girl beside her hissed. Their tongues were genuinely sharp, and their drastic change in attitude horrified Viktor Grimm, who was the subject of their affections.
He recognized Amarya as the girl who had beaten Rem, and hence, she had a place of respect in his heart. Of course, Amarya would never be able to surpass Rem, but he still respected her nonetheless.
Cautiously, he backed away from the vicious sophomores with an uncomfortable expression.
When they noticed, their personality flipped 180-degrees yet again.
"Viktor~" they sang with their unbelievably screechy voices. "Where are you going?"
"Bathroom." He quickly excused himself and rushed away from the girls. But instead of going to the bathroom, he headed straight back to class, where his idol awaited him. He slammed open the door, engraining the picture of her soaking in the afternoon sun in his head.
But the view was soured by the girl in front of Rem. Amarya had both her elbows propped up in her hands and her cheeks resting on her palms.
It seemed that Amarya had pushed through the wall that was Turner, Pablo, and Navier to reach Rem. But while Navier looked at the new girl with an admiring expression, Turner and Pablo had uncertain gazes. Their eyes flicked back and forth from Rem to Amarya to see if Rem would brutally punch the girl as she did to Mad Dog.
But contrary to their expectations, Joan was relatively calm. She looked at Amarya with great interest, scanning over what would grow up to be the most accredited cyber exploitation officer, better known to the general public as a hacker, and mother of Hypatia Owenby.
It seemed Amarya's Mortal Strike username had bled over into her personal life.
However, no matter how hard Joan stared at Amarya, she couldn't see a computer science genius.
"Oh~" Amarya playfully slapped Joan's arm. Pablo's jaw dropped as he inhaled a silent gasp. He glanced at Joan, eager to see her next move. "What are you looking at me so hard for?" Amarya leaned in as she whispered, "Do you have a crush on me?"
Joan's expression remained stern.
"Joan, you're gay?!" PK gasped in shock. "Wow, I couldn't tell. If I had guessed, I would've thought you were asexual. Look at your expression! All you love is yourself."
Joan ignored it. "No."
Her one-word response made Amarya pout, as the younger girl desperately tried to evoke emotions of sympathy.
