I stepped out of the little noisy plane and into a whole new world, it smelled so… so… soooo much like pineapple. The wind even greeted me with an unfamiliar warm tone, very different from where I come from. In Norway the wind seems to want to cut your throat with its icy grip. The sun was shining, distant music was playing, something electro I think, and I could already see flowers in all kinds of colors popping up everywhere. Even places where it should be impossible for a flower to bloom.
Everything, even the energetic moment of seeing your best friend for the first time was perfect. Running as if you don't carry a too heavy backpack. Screaming, or rather letting a random noise out of your mouth that somehow fits your emotion, and then hugging this familiar, yet unknown person for a few minutes, while laughing.
It is quite an interesting thing that you can get to know a person without ever having to meet this person, face to face. Then when you meet this person in real life it just feels so natural. As if this friendship was meant to be, and we both were born into this age of internet and social networks, just to get the opportunity to meet each other.
We talked about a lot of things in our chatroom, about comics, movies, drama in school, family and crushes. It was so much easier to talk with someone who couldn't judge you by your looks, your freckles, pimples and bony fingers. At first, we connected through this site where you can read web novels for free. We both always commented on the same Stories, and always ended up discussing the terrible cliffhangers we were exposed to. We kept in contact and our friendship kind of just kept going, although I would say that recent events have made it hard for me to trust her again.
When she asked me if I would like to visit her, travel to her island somewhere on the other side of the world I practically screamed yes! My mom looked at me as if I popped her ears, and forever would blame me for her deafness. After some explaining she just joined me, and even though the trip would be months away, we started packing.
I was so restless, it was as if my body wanted to test the condition ADHD, just to check if it would fit me. My feet where dancing under the table, making embarrassingly much sound during classes, my fingers where tapping to music even though it was Pindrop silent. Somehow, I even started running, as in moving my body and producing sweat, a miracle in mom's eyes. This amazing opportunity, and Zara even claimed to pay for me, so I wouldn't need to be financially burdened. I was so excited, it was a nightmare waiting for this insanely cool trip, to this tropic place, Inohuaia Island.
Little did I know the amount of shocks and terror this trip would cause me. Even now, I don't know how to get out of this mess.
