Chapter 13 - Chapter thirteen- currupted laughter

Madison had a long day at school. The sun was still shining as bright as it was early that morning. Madison hated it.

She gripped her pencil. The teacher's voice was being muffled by Madison's own thoughts.

She was kind of slouched in her desk. She has one hand under the desk while the other was on top. The usual for a teenager to sit. Most of them sat like that. The conversation of the murders still ran throughout the school.

For Madison, she nearly forgot she'd killed anyone. If anyone in that room knew of the crime she's committed, she wouldn't know what to do.

Madison flared out of the window and into the courtyard of the school.

Her eyes fixated on the grass as a few people walked by. Madison's eyes were near all the way closed. She struggled to keep them open. Many kids struggled.

This teacher was boring. All she did was talk about history, barely assigned them work. If Madison had to listen to her talk for another out, she's going crazy in front of these people.

Madison made the pencil twirl in her fingers before gripping it.

"Hello??" Madison heard.

Madison kept looking out of the window.

"Madison! Hello!?" She heard.

Madison turned to see Ms. Che looking at her with a serious face. The whole class giggled as Che raises an eyebrow.

"Is there something outside that catches your attention more than I do?" Che asked. The class began to giggle once again. Madison shook her head. Che nodded.

"Who invented the first light bulb?" Che asked.

Madison kept her eyes locked on Che's. Che seemed a little uncomfortable, looking away every few seconds to check on the class. The class giggled and some even commented.

"Thomas Edison invented the light bulb," Madison answers.

Che swallowed and looked at the whole class. "Alright, class. We will get back to reading this chapter. I want you guys to turn the page of your books, please," Che says.

Che then looked at Madison who was back to looking out of the window. "Where's your book, Madison?" He asked.

Madison made eye contact with Che again and pulled the book from in her lap. Already turned to the right page. Che seemed a little embarrassed and looked at the rest of the class.

Mason began laughing, covering his mouth as he looked at his desk.

"Something funny?" Mason hears.

He turned to see Madison was staring straight at him. Her glare made him feel uncomfortable. The classroom got quiet and the clouds covered the sun, making the classroom go dark.

He swallowed as the class stared. The teacher was creeped out and tried breaking the unbearable silence Madison has caused.

Madison didn't even blink while staring at Mason. Madison simply shook his head.

"Good," Madison says.

"Alright class, Mason! How about you start us off with the first paragraph!!" Che says. Madison heard the crack in her voice.
