Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: The Origins

After visiting several hospitals, which did not work, my grandfather, knowing my condition, suggested that my mother went to consult a superstitious man. In fact, my mother herself was an atheist. She refused to go, in the end, grandpa secretly brought in one of our local superstitious men.

I don't know if the superstitious man has any ability, but he is a peddler of steamed buns, who occasionally look at Geomantic Omen for others. And his knowledge is enough for elderly in the countryside.

After the man came, examined me for a while and said that our family is missing one thing, so the family couldn't settle down and I was frightened by the little ghost, but what is missing then.

For houses in the countryside, there is a room called the Central Room, which is what we now called the living room. The central office is located opposite the front house door, which can be seen once the front door is open. It is boxy, typically people hang calligraphy and painting on the front wall of this room, some are Mao(President of China), some are immortals, also the landscape. This painting also accompanied by two couplets, which was called the Central Scroll.

This painting was initially used for aesthetic purposes but later evolved into a sign that the room was occupied, telling ghosts not to come over here. At that time, we had just finished painting our house, but we didn't have this painting in the central room.

My mother, an atheist, was a little shaken by what the superstitious man said, and asked what to do. After receiving a twenty dollars red envelope, the man provided me with a cup of water, where a piece of rune paper was burned to ashes and asked me to drink.

Later I learned that the rune paper was indeed a rune, it was called "Tianshi Operator", but his rune was only a symbol, not branded, so it didn't work at all. After I drank the water, my stomach began to hurt, and I began to twitch, I was rushed to the hospital at midnight to save my life. Later, the man was scared and did not come out to sell steamed buns for several days, he feared that my mother would find him desperately. He sent the red envelope back and did not come out to show off again. My mom almost had a falling out with grandpa, and it went unhappily.

Later in the hospital, my condition did not get better. Until I was in a coma just like my little aunt in those days, the doctors could not find out the specific cause of my illness. After my grandmother knew that I was ill, suggested my mother look for Wenbin Zha. My mother refused at first, at the end when there was no way, she asked my father to look for Wenbin. She also knew about the matter with my little aunt, but deep down, she doesn't believe that there is such a thing in the world. At the moment, she had no choice but to do so.

When Wenbin came, I had already been taken to my own home. Firstly, he asked my mother about my condition, he then began to ask me where I had been recent. I didn't know why, my first reaction at that time was that Temple of Generals, but because I was afraid of being scolded, I never told my family about this.

I told him that I went to the Temple of Generals that day and what I saw in the temple. When my grandfather heard me climbed into the temple, he almost fell down of his chair, "my little boy, how dare you can do this."

Wenbin said that this incident was bizarre:" I had a look, the child estimated is not a common trick, now, I cannot figure out, so there was nothing to do today." He had to wait until the next day to go to the temple to have a look. When he heard that the man had given me water with the burned runes ash, he said that they were all tricks and that runes without brand would not only be useless, but would make those things repulsive, so I got sicker. My mother was angry again when she heard this and was about to go out there and tear down their dumpling shop. . .

That night, Wenbin lived in our home. Strangely to say, that night is the only night I slept well after I was sick.

Then the rest of the things, was told by my mother:

The next morning, my father took Wenbin to the Temple of Generals, when Wenbin saw the temple, back a few steps said: "It seems that there really are some problems, did not expect to see this thing here", and my father asked what's wrong.

Wenbin did not answer, just asked my father whether he knows the origin of the Temple of Generals, my father shook his head said he doesn't know.

WenBin looked at the already mottled wall and sighed: "This may not be a General's Temple at all, this is a Taoist temple, but this Taoist is not the right way. It is an evil way. "

Then he asked my father to go back to find some people, ready to open the hall which has been closed for many years, and he has to go back to prepare some things.

After returning to my home, Wenbin began to tell my father something about the Temple of Generals.

So who exactly Webin Zha is? It all starts with the Taoist in our country (China):

Now the spread of Taoism is mainly composed of three unions, which are Zhengyi, Quanzhen and Miaozhen.

One of them that we often see on TV, which is a very famous Taoist sect called Maoshan sect, also known as Maoshan Taoist.

This Maoshan sect does have some history. Maoshan sect is one of the Taoist sects. In the Southern Dynasty Qi, created by Taoist priest Hongjing Tao. It is called the Maoshan sect because the monastery was located in Maoshan and the worship of the "San Mao Zhen Jun", who majored in the classics of Shangqing, Lingbao and Sanhuang. Also, they thought the first emperor of Yuan Dynasty, the emperor of Tai Shang Dao, the emperor of Tai Wei, the last emperor of Jin Que and the old emperor of Tai Shang was the supreme gods.

In the Northern Song Dynasty, Maoshan sect and Mount Longhu, Hezaoshan were three major Taoism Unions, known as the Three Mountain Talisman. After the Yuan Dynasty merged into the Zhengyi Union, which is now known as Zhengyi Taoism.

The chief founder of the Maoshan sect was Hongjing Tao, who was later passed on to master Zangjin, who later received a lay disciple named Zhengyang Ling, and taught him many of the principles of Taoism. However, I don't know why Zhengyang Ling was driven down the mountain later. Zhengyang Ling devoted his whole life to Taoism and founded this sect which originated from Maoshan: called Tian Zheng Dao. But the rule was can only pass to one person per generation and has been very low-key all the way to the age of Wenbin. It has been the 27th generation until Wenbin, because of historical reasons, so many things did not pass down. The master of Wenbin provided him with some Taoist secrets and books, as well as the master seal and the Seven-star Sword before he passed away.

As for Wenbin, it is said that the great seal and the sword were created by the master Zangjin for Zhengyang Ling, who was driven down from the mountain, and then passed on from generation to generation, and became the official symbol of Tian Zheng Dao.

During the Cultural Revolution, the master of Wenbin was naturally a superstitious person who belonged to the "Stinky old nine". After being locked up in a cow shed, he was nearly starved to death. At that time, Wenbin's father was a cowherd, he stole some sweet potatoes and steamed buns to satisfy his hunger. But was found out by the people in the production team, to be charged with a crime of colluding with the "Stinky old nine", to be arrested and paraded through the streets. It is said that Wenbin's father did not confess guilt and was beaten to death. His wife couldn't stand the gossip and went end with him, leaving the still small Wenbin alone. After the master was released, he accepted Wenbin as an apprentice. Wenbin has the high ability, and after a few years, he had already learnt a lot. Unfortunately, the master passed away early, there were still a lot of things have not yet been taught to Wenbin, leaving only a pile of manuscripts surviving in the flames of the Cultural Revolution and the master seal and sword hidden in the cowshed. Wenbin studied those in private and did not dare to come out, so there are a lot of things he still did not understand completely.

As for the Maoshan Sect from the orthodox Tian Yi Dao, later also had a significant change...

The people regard Maoshan as the sacred mountain of worship. Also, the Taoist priest and sorcerer see it as a holy place for seeking Dharma. Strangely to say, at the time when the whole country was "crazy about Mao". In the surrounding area of Maoshan, to be exact, in the south of Maoshan, a branch of the witch people also called themselves "Maoshan", they believe in the Great Taoist God, the Supreme Lord. The founder of the union Laojun Li is revered as the "Lord of Maoshan", also known as "Bozi Laojun". If you have studied some Dharma, you may know that there is a famous "Lord Zhao Hou", some of them are written as "General of Zhao Hou", this Zhao Hou is the son-in-law of our "Lord of Maoshan" in the folk legend.

The Magic in this Union, generally follow the standard line, such as hemostasis, flat sores, retreat the Evil Spirit, and so on, which is common to other unions. But the difference is that some of the so-called "evil magic", such as the "goddess of Bliss", a kind of dream sex magic, as well as the "no descendants" method, and the "beauty undressing" method, the "shift image" which was often mentioned is also the magic from this union. Besides, attracting wild animals in the mountains and snake salamanders cure people also secretly spread in this union. There is also a special one to mention, so-called "raising of small ghosts". Hong Kong films often mention some to take the body oil, refine the corpse and raise the little ghost. There is similar magic in Maoshan, but they are entirely different from those described in films and TV series.
