Until Milla jumps off the roof and lands on a balcony on the fourth floor. Her gown flutters as she descends to the balcony. All of them are still kneeling before her but many notice her cowboy shoes. They do not know what to think of it. Is she simple or her age is just getting in the way with her fashion sense?
Milla's super hearing that is superior to these new vampires is unknown to them. So a vampire woman at the very back mocks Milla by whispering to her friends, "Did they crown her as the Vampire Empress just because of her age and her looks? What kind of dumb standards did they base it on? She showed up saying she's ancient, then expect us to bow to her?" Then the vampire woman notices that everyone is avoiding to have eye contact with her. She tries to reach for her friends' shoulders or arms, but they keep shooing her away.
The vampires on the front witness Milla's narcissistic smirk with a deadly glint on her eyes, before she approaches the railings obliquely. As she hops over the railings, her legs pass over it with her right hand on top of the railings. Milla being a lazy bum did not think twice in dropping to the ground from the fourth floor, instead of using the stairs inside.
Milla leisurely walks towards the vampires' crowd, as they hurriedly stand up and spontaneously back away to the sides for her to pass through in the middle. This situation is such a spectacular thing to witness with the vampires parting ways as Milla continues to walk deeper into the crowd, prior to her standing in front of the mocking vampire.
The vampire woman feels on edge when Milla stops walking a few steps away from her, but she assures herself that it is not possible for the Vampire Empress to hear her whispers from far away. So, she bows to Milla and starts making faces to relieve her anger for this unbelievable ceremony. After making her bow for a few minutes, Milla says something that made her freeze, "You said that I shouldn't expect any of you to bow for me. Then, why are you suddenly bowing to me? Hmm?"
Remembering the massacre, the vampire woman's legs weaken as she gives in to her fears- pushing herself to kowtow by kneeling and touching the ground with her forehead, "I- I di-didn't mean it, Vampire Empress! P-please have mercy on me! Please don't kill me! I'm begging you..."
Frederick arrives in this scene and glances at Milla's cold smile, "Empress, what happened?"
A nonchalant voice replies to him, "Give me one good reason why I shouldn't kill her, right now."
"It's your first day as the Vampire Empress and we can deal with her afterward, Empress," Frederick suggests in a whisper that only the three of them heard, including the vampire woman who is now trembling in fear.
Milla is starting to approve of Frederick, because of this suggestion of his. She smiles chillingly before turning around and disappearing in front of everyone, leaving only the cold wind caused by her.
Frederick goes after Milla while the vampire king makes an appearance in front of the mansion, "Everyone, please follow the guards as they lead you all to the feast."
After the crowd disappears, Steve, the vampire prince, arrives beside his childhood friend, Dionne, with a goofy smile, "Dio, if I end up with Empress Milla, will that make me the Vampire Emperor?"
Dionne frowns at him and covers his mouth shortly, "You wish! You don't even hold a candle to him. And, shut your mouth, the Empress can hear everything on this island."
Steve smacks his friend's hand away, "Ouch, aren't you a friend of mine?" He puts his hand over his heart with a feigned hurt expression. He unexpectedly smiles and looks toward the mansion, "That's better. My Empress, can I court you?~"
The vampire king hears him and whacks the back of his head, "Are you out of your mind?! What nonsense are you talking about? Do you have a death wish?"
"I'm confident that my Empress will protect me at all costs!" The vampire king gets a hold of his son and drags him away before someone kills him. Unbeknownst to them, Milla unconsciously smiles a little at their banters until she realizes it and returns to her typical expression. While Frederick reaches the outside of her room and patiently waits for Milla.
While burying her face in her pillow while lying on her stomach, she speaks up in a muffled voice but enough for the Grand Elder to hear her, "What is it, Frederick?"
"Empress, they're all in the feast, do you want to head there now?"
Milla is unaware that she's been speaking in a cordial voice towards Frederick and just sounds like a regular girl in her twenties complaining, "Do I have to?"
Frederick, on the other hand, is astounded when he hears her and contemplates whether he was hearing things, or is he really talking to Milla? Looking at the doors to Milla's bedroom, he knows he's not imagining things thus making her not completely void of any emotion. That means there's more to Milla than just being a cold-hearted vampire, but why only to him?
He doesn't know that it's because of his connection with Lucinda, he was like a family to the late leader of the vampire community. At this time, Milla isn't acknowledging this fact. Meanwhile, a smile forms on Frederick's face as he responds to Milla, "Yes, Empress. Everyone is expecting you there and they should all see the Vampire Empress. Or they might get themselves killed for not knowing who you are then going against you."
Milla takes a nap and subsequently goes outside her room, what greets her is a sleeping Frederick whilst sitting on a chair. This makes Milla frown as she shuts the doors by slamming it extremely. Resulting in an alarmed Frederick, "Wha- what? Milla! I mean- Empress, are we going to the feast now?" He looks at his wristwatch and so does Milla.
"What is that, Frederick? Do you have a pocket watch?" Milla asks without letting the wristwatch out of her sight like a curious kid.
Frederick chuckles but refrains from continuing, "Ah- ahem, this is a watch made to be strapped on the wrist as opposed to a pocket watch, Empress."
He notices the time and it's a good thing they planned to let the vampires eat first if Milla doesn't show up early. Frederick escorts her to where they all are. To the vampires who want to complain about Milla's absence, but do not have the guts to do so. Since all of them are terrified to receive her rage and they were all informed that the Vampire Empress can hear everything on this island. This information increased the fear in their hearts regarding Milla's real strength.
Arriving at the feast, far from the mansion, there's this kind of muted lively atmosphere with all the faint chatterings and laughs exchanged between the vampires. They literally occupied the whole island which has an area of 393 square kilometers or 152 square miles, but they have to evacuate away from the mansion. So, the vampires have little to no space from one another at the moment. Sitting on chairs and tables wouldn't utilize all of the spaces, instead, they eat as if they are on a picnic- sitting on the dark red blankets laid on the grass.
While on the very front, a single large table with a high-back red velvet chair is on the center of the tables for the vampire royalties on the left and Grand Elders on its right. All seats are facing the crowd of vampires that traverse far than the human eyes could see. The vampire servants served the foods to them and they started eating, not knowing that their Vampire Empress was taking a nap.
Milla's late arrival to the feast adds up to their ever-increasing sufferings due to them being tense and uneasy as time passes by. Most of them do not know her, yet they are frightened of her and awestricken, at the same time. Even so when the vampire royalties and Grand Elders stand up then bows to her, "Greetings, Empress Milla!"
All the vampires are quick in their feet as they hurriedly get on one of their knees and lower their heads, "All hail the Vampire Empress!"
Despite everyone's salutations, Milla continues to follow Frederick leading her to her seat. But when he's about to pull Milla's chair, Steve appears and pulls the chair instead. Milla reclines on her seat, not giving the smiling Steve any attention as she mumbles a single word heard only by some of them, still, everyone follow suit, "Sit."
She has been attended to by a handful of servants laying the different meal courses on her table, and of course, her glass never becomes empty of blood as a servant remained not far from her to refill it frequently. All of the vampires keep taking a glimpse of her, while those in the farther positions gazes at the big monitors placed at the sides. Like a celebrity- cameras are pointed at her and she is seen by every vampire, humans in several parts of the world paid to see her appear at the feast only until she takes her seat and that's it.
