Harold laid down in the white velvet quilt with gold trimmings. He may not be able to move his body, but his twitching eyes gaped with an indomitable will.
"My...Sons…"
Even with the subtle tremors in his arm, he reached out to them, and Daniel clasped with tender care. Michael was mostly agape, sharp breaths taking over the silence within the King's chamber.
Alas, the years of struggle for the two princes had come to an end.
"Father…" Daniel choked, his lips trembled as he couldn't believe what he witnessed right before him. Going up and down, it wasn't a dream. "You're awake."
He moved close, hugging him tightly. On the other hand, the tremor in His Majesty's arm didn't succumb to it as he embraced his son, patting him over and over.
It was almost a quarter an hour both broke free from each other, but to them, it seemed a long time of embrace, treasuring every second of it.
