Chapter 15 - No Stone Unturned

Anasthasia took a deep breath, she cast 'Gust!' with mighty blow of wind from her palm. The wind magic knocked him back several yards away and crashed to the end of the tree. She rushed close with them and waved her arms around them. She muttered softly, 'Glacial Cage!' which created a dome of ice.

Inside the dome, Anasthasia went on her knees and checked his complexion. His skin had turned pale, and the beads of sweat formed on his forehead as he creased. Her hands caressed his cheek and neck.

"His condition got worse!" She hissed, "We have to do something—" Her eyes dawned to his figure that trembled, a huff of air was visible. The twins hadn't fared any better. They shivered, but Michael's predicament too occupied them.

'They don't have much resistance on ice or is it just me?'

She looked around as she tried to find a way for a breather. The dome had shaken several times from different impacts, but it never showed a failure of its structural integrity.

"Let me see his wound!" Anasthasia flailed his tattered robe that blocked her vision; her hands grazed through the plate armor; luckily, the bullet wasn't strong enough to penetrate his flesh. But it can't be said the same for his legs. It accurately hit right above his kneecaps.

The shot had continuously bloomed a dark crimson shade. Her slender hands reached close to it, and only Michael whimpered, bit his lips until it was swollen. He bobbed his head up from excruciation.

Such precision and accuracy had created a slight foreboding chill on her heart.

Anasthasia reached out once more, she cast 'Regeneration!', warmth spread over the area, but eyebrows furrowed as nothing had happened. She sucked in cold air from utter disbelief.

"This can't be!" Her mouth paused, agape, "Why it's negating my powers?!"

"Lady Anasthasia, I think the causality would be the bullets themselves that hindered any healing effect." Levi growled deeply, his eyes craved for revenge.

"We must remove the bullet!" She stretched her arm midair, then hand slowly moved towards the deep gash but was stopped halfway by the hands of Liam. She had taken aback as she saw how his eyes clouded with doubt.

"Lady Anasthasia, you can't do that..."

"What do you mean?"

"We don't have enough equipment to perform surgery at the moment." Liam crouched once more, from the tremendous impact taken by the dome of ice, and vibrated all the way in. "We're still in the middle of the fight!"

"Brother is right, we can't act rashly and use bare handed or we'll cause further complications—"

"Do you guys take me for a joke?!" She squealed. "I know how surgery works!"

"Really?!" Their eyes almost gouged out of the sockets as they leaned forward.

"I'm not lying! We have no time!" Anasthasia frantically glanced the ground. Her hands twitched as she lifted the rocks and lumps from the ground. The minerals and the metals found on it slowly disintegrated, they sifted to the slightest detail with every finger twitched.

She clenched her teeth as she finally separated the approximated amount she needed, her hands gripped with tightness, and the materials melded well, coupled with an intense flame that burst from her palms.

It didn't take long that she got the necessary equipment she needed. She glanced at them with a prideful look.

"I'm done! Now the next step is..." Her head shifted towards the man who grunted in silence, his lips busted from his urge to seal them with his teeth, "He needs to be unconscious, for a moment."

"No!" Levi shouted out of instinct, "I will do the operation, I'm fairly knowledgeable when it comes to this and we'll operate without any need of drugs!"

"Can you really do it?" Anasthasia glanced at his eyes, and he nodded crisply. She looked at Michael once more, tried to witness what had happened despite the hard time opening his eyelids, "Are you sure about this?"

They nodded. Afterward, she drew the moisture from the air and the dome of ice, and turned into a waterball, she warmed it up and poured over Michael's wounds.

"That should do."

"We are doing good... This'll do just fine—"

"There's poison coated on this bullet, it's still not over..."

"Yes, we know." Levi clicked his tongue. "We will deal of this first, his wounds must be sealed once and for all!"

"I can let him sleep." They turned their heads over to Anasthasia, thus tilted her head, "You think I can't?"

"No! No!" Liam shook his head with vigor, he leaned closer than ever, "My Lady, you may wish to do so. Nothing else mattered at this point!"

She nodded curtly and reached her fingers on top of Michael's head. Her voice rang softly, "You must rest well." A sudden white mist emitted that swathed his face. He no longer bore the grimace and agony.

The dome of ice continued to shook harder than ever. She narrowed her eyes of disgust and hatred. She didn't dilly-dally further as his complexion had turned out the worse—almost comparable to the dome of ice.

'This won't do! I need Fried's help!'

Her eyes closed, hands rested on the ground, mana coalesced in her body as her senses heightened. She had longed and searched for Freidmirth's location. When she detected it, her eyes shine with gold. Turned and blasted a hole with a colorful mist towards the bushes, there found the dragon who was in deep slumber.

'I'm counting on you!'

The mist had enveloped the miniature figure of the dragon; it shone in bright light. And the ground tremendously shook out of raw power. Freidmirth had opened his eyes—those amber eyes could see through the darkness of the forest.

"What's going on?!"

"There—There's a dragon?!"

"What?"

Freidmirth beat his wing once, but enough to compete for the intensity of a hurricane, this ravaged the trees into bits and splinters, the enemies thrashed alongside the snapped debris. He soared midair and threw them off with the dragon's breath of fire.

"You two, take care of him." Her eyes gleamed with concern, but changed so fast into the dreadful look when she turned back, "I'll teach them a lesson."

She sprinted her way out of the dome of ice, she tossed a ball of the luminous flame inside and sealed off the hole with a sheet of ice. She jumped, high enough to reach the top of the dome. She glanced Freidmirth, who hovered in midair and spewed with flames of hell.

"You are one grown as dragon, I must say." She smirked, which had Freidmirth rolled his eyes.

"Shall we finish this?"

"Oh, I thought you'd never asked." Anathasia's voice chortled, this haunted the souls of her enemies for life. She flashed her way with a sheet of ice and skid forth towards the enemy location.

'I'm not going to be merciful today! Even if you are all humans!' Blood had burned inside of her; her eyes seared. She huffed aloud and controlled the conflagration around her.

'Flame wave!'

An arc of flame swarmed in front of her, everything it touched had rapidly consumed and immolated into a massive wave of fire. She glanced up and saw Freidmirth swooped from the heights, which had bent her knees and jumped enough to perch atop the colossal dragon.

"Are you able to sense the enemies?"

"That's quite an easy question, of course!"

"That's good! Fried, How many are there left?"

The dragon let out a deep laugh, "Just about five of them."

"Then, let us commence." She licked her lips, "Mission: Search and Destroy!"

Friedmirth beat its wings once more, then swoop to the closest enemy. The man struggled to crawl out from the splinters that impaled his limbs. When they drew closer, Anasthasia's hands froze the air on her side and launched a giant spear of ice that skewered his torso. She twisted around and cast another spell onto the next enemy.

'Arc Lightning!'

The violent pulse of lightning jumped from her hands towards the man trapped from the pile of trees. It screamed, convulsed from electrocution, and ultimately burned to crisp.

Freidmirth flew to next and noticed the man, in a dark robe with a crossbow in his arm, scurried away from fear. The dragon opened his mouth with thickened with flames of death. The place turned hot and bright, and before he turned around. Fires of hell had welcomed his doors.

"The two are over there!" Freidmirth nudged his snout towards the direction. Anasthasia had an evil grin when she glanced at the same burly man and the mysterious one with a white robe.

'No matter who you are, you triggered the wrong one!' She gritted her teeth and danced her fingers with violent movement.

'Cataclysm!'

The ground shook with devastation, which made the two lose their hold off the ground. But it wasn't just a toss in the air—found the torsos impaled by thorns.
