Chapter 46 - Chapter 46: Responsibility

"Theós, you little shit!" I said out loud into the microphone. As I look at the human lifespans, I noticed that Theós did a 180 on the whole system. The earth was unique from the rest of the other sectors as humans would only give to me the remainder of the lifespans that I had been cutting short.

Meaning the younger someone was, the more of their lifespan I could take. But now, because of Theós, it's the exact opposite. Now, I can only take the lifespan that they have lived, meaning in order to fully benefit from a person's lifespan, I would have to let them live a full life.

Human lifespans are already so short, killing them off before their time would make their deaths near to insignificant to me now. The system on the Earth was now just like the other planets.

'I was wondering why you were still silent even after I basically killed off nearly half the human race…' I thought to myself.

"Can he not make a move against me?" I asked myself out loud forgetting I was still speaking into the mic.

I looked up and saw the crowd with faces filled with a mixture of confusion and fear.

"Leave…all of you." I said to the crowd.

Everyone then proceeded to run towards the entrance in a not so orderly fashion.

They barged through the door, completely ignoring the tailed Lilith, Azrael, and the soldiers lying on the floor.

"What the hell happened in here?" The tailed Lilith asked walking up to me alongside Azrael.

"I threatened the entire world and told them I'm a reaper." I said to her casually.

"Oh, so was that bright light your doing?" She asked.

"No…Theós made a move. He's managed to protect his precious humans for now." I said to her.

"However, he just confirmed something for me. Why is it that after going against Theós for so long, he still hasn't acted against me? Does he simply not have the time? Am I not a big enough threat yet? These questions have been running through my mind, especially after I killed nearly half the human race. He should have the power to kill me right?

He doesn't act against me, not because he won't, but because he can't. Although he has the power to do so, I believe Theós also has a system that he must follow. The only times he can act against me are when the system he has placed allows him to act. He can manipulate his system, but he cannot contradict it. Perhaps..." I began to say but then got cut off.

"WE GOT YOU ASSHOLE! MEN, FIRE!!" The commander screamed out in anger at the top of his lungs.

(BANG!)

(KRRRRR!)

(BANG!)

Numerous soldiers heeded their commander's order and began to fire their guns at me till their clips emptied. The bullets landed on my body and shattered upon impact. Seeing that I was still standing, the soldiers looked at me in awe and fear.

"Someone forgot to do their job." The tailed Lilith says out loud.

"Master is done speaking so, technically, I've already done my job." Azrael said in rebuttal.

"FIRE AGAIN!" The commander barked another order, not knowing what else he could do. They came here to do a job, but now it started to seem like their objective was impossible to accomplish.

I then dropped from the stage then appeared next to the commander and held his shoulder.

"Go home. Live a long life with the child you still have. If it is revenge you are after, you'll never find it. No one in this world has the power to kill me." I said to him then walked away. The tailed Lilith and Azrael followed closely behind.

The commander then dropped to his knees in tears, feeling more powerless than ever before. Just as one should in the face of death. As I passed through the crowd of soldiers, they began to part a way for us as we headed out of the hall.

For the next few days, my speech was being broadcasted on repeat, in every news channel. Eventually, almost everybody in the world knew what I was and what it meant to go against me.

 2 weeks later:

"Elaine, I'll be leaving soon. Not quite sure when I'll be back or if you will even still be alive by then." I said to her.

"So, that's it? You turn this world to crap; turn my life to crap, then you just leave?" She asked me, not surprised by what I said. She continued to bask in the sun and sip on her cocktail.

"I may have taken away your light, but don't pretend like the life you're living is miserable. Here you are, living in a penthouse, basking in the sun, with an expensive drink in your hand. You have enough money to buy anything this world has to offer. I gave you more than a good life, you have no right to complain…not yet. Not until you see where you're destined to go." I said to her.

She then just kept laying there showing no reaction to what I had said.

She then turned to me and said, "You left me here alone…no explanation. Not a call, nor an email, nor a letter, not even a bloody text. You just LEFT! Even after you left me like that, I still loved you but-." She began to say to me.

"You had Ace…I know about you two." I said to her.

 A few months ago:

"Vermin!" I said out loud as I released my death aura, terrifying the 13-year-old boy who had smeared a red fruit on my shirt.

In that moment, one of my pawns had seen a scene that rushed from my subconscious to my conscious mind.

I then immediately got drawn into my subconscious and watched the scene that my subconscious believed to have been important enough to draw me in. As I stood in the middle of a thick and dark, shallow, luminous pool of blood, I watched the scene play out.

Through the eyes of my shadow pawn, I could see Ace holding Elaine around his arms as she cried on his chest. This wasn't in real time however, but acted as the pawn's memory.

'Okay, so what. Elaine crying is no reason to bring me here.' I said to my subconscious. Then something else happened.

Ace then lifted Elaine's face by her chin to look straight into her eyes, they paused for a brief moment, then Ace leaned in closer and embraced Elaine's lips with his. Elaine then quickly pulled back and staired deeply at Ace in confusion.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have-." Ace began to say then Elaine cut him off by going back to kiss him even deeper than before. They slowly began to take off their clothes as they kissed passionately.

"Are you sure you want to do this?" Ace asked Elaine as his rock-hard tip lay in wait on the lips of her vagina.

She slowly nodded and said, "You've always been there for me at my lowest, time and time again. I want to be here for you." Elaine said then with a warm smile of acceptance, Ace proceeded to gently slip in his penis into her.

(Gaaasp!)

A long deep gasp came out of Wendelyne's mouth upon Ace entering her. I clenched my fist in anger at the scene playing before me, knowing I am unable to do anything about it as this had already happened.

 'Ace…' I said in anger.

"From now on, you show me the important things in real time!' I said to my subconscious. Unbeknownst to me, a completely different being took over my conscious mind and was controlling my body.

'What! Where am I? What is this on me?' The being thought to himself as he touched the moist substance on his shirt. He was slowly coming to his senses but he wasn't fully conscious.

Suddenly, all he could feel was deep anger coming from within my subconscious.

'You must be the cause of this.' The being thought to himself looking at the boy.

"Vermin!" The being summoned a bolt of lightning from the sky, which had no other purpose but to strike the boy dead.

The mysterious being, then saw something pick the boy up and move him out of the way before the lightning bolt could hit. This just angered the being even more and began to slowly approach the thing that took away he's prey. He was ready to wipe out the entire market with the anger that he felt. The anger was his, but it also wasn't.

"What the fuck is wrong with you…?" The tailed Lilith began going on a rant. She sounded irritated.

"Lilith." The being said calmly, with a warm smile on his face as he approached the tailed Lilith. He now looked calm and genuinely happy.

The tailed Lilith continued to complain then, "…wait, what did you call me?" The tailed Lilith asked in surprise. She recalled I had never called her just Lilith before.

Before the being reached the tailed Lilith, I unexpectedly rushed back to my conscious mind and was in control of my body once more. I turned and looked left and right at the scenes around me. I saw a deep, scorched crater behind me, and sparks of purple light flying around everywhere.

"What the hell happened here?" I asked out loud.

 Present time:

 "What…! But… H-How…!" Elaine said with a stutter.

"Being what I am, are you really surprised by this?" I said to her.

"Don't worry, I saw; I vented; I got over it." I said to her calmly then started to walk away.

"Wait! Why- why didn't you say anything until now? Why did you save me again? Why are you still protecting me?" She asked with tears threatening to come out.

"I told you, you are a responsibility." I said to her.

"It's okay to live the rest of your life with Ace. You two shouldn't have to hide like this." I added then teleported away.

After I left, Ace came out from behind a wall. He looked at Elaine as she got up from her chair. He ran to her and gave her a deep hug.
