Chapter 54 - Chapter 53: I'm Thinking of Traveling Out of China

Belen shook his head in exasperation, "This is Aki. As you can see, he's not an average cat. He's Willow familiar to be exact. He's the one who brought you up there."

"And, you need to put on some muscles." Aki stated with a frown, "You were light as a feather!"

Rain stifled a smile when he heard this uncertain of how to respond to his words.

"He's always like this, apparently." Belen responded.

"Always?" Hannah raised a brow, "Then this energy he was talking about..."

"Get in control of your power first before you ask me to sit next to you, then." Aki responded and flicked his tail before curling up next to Rain, "It's not like I enjoy getting rained on either."

This time, Rain lost his smile at the cat's jest and looked to Belen who scowled, "Get your act together before I change my mind and get Willow out to fetch you back. You were the one that begged me to get you out in the first place."

"Fine. Fine." The cat responded in irritation before turning to Hannah, "Your energy is what triggers your ability, much like everyone else. Where you got it and how you use it varies between people, but, because you clearly don't use it on a daily bases, your energy is pretty much like a kettle ready to explode. Of course you'll end up affecting the broadcast that way."

"Wait, you said that because of this that I could affect the broadcast." Hannah jumped in alarm.

Aki grumbled, "Because your ability doesn't give you the chance to use it whenever you like, especially now in this situation, you can't even control it."

"But, we were able to help her use it before." Rain responded with a frown, "How come she can't control it?"

"Simple." Aki said lazily as he flicked his tail, "It's like you turned on the faucet but can't turn it off. Just because you can use your ability, you simply just turned on the faucet but never properly shut it off. That's why you have so much energy around you leaking out. Also, this guy here..."

He tapped on Rain's lap with the tip of his tail, "He has more control over his ability, but that doesn't mean that you can't feel anything from him. Meanwhile..."

Aki glanced over to Belen, "This guy here can control his very well because his energy is entirely used for his attack and is physical. If he can't control it, we're all hit by UV rays."

"How do we know you're telling the truth?" Rain questioned with narrowed eyes.

"Didn't you ask what's wrong with her?" Aki flicked his tail, "Until she control her energy, I'm not going near her."

Belen groaned when he heard Aki's words

Despite Rain's doubt, Hannah had no problem believing Aki's words. Why? Because he and Willow are too much alike. If they said that they were siblings, she'd believe it too at this point. Aki continued with a grumble, "Anyway, get a feel for it after we leave the place. Try it now and our enemy will come after us."

"Aren't they already coming after us?" Hannah questioned with a raised brow.

Aki huffed a laugh, "If only you knew how many circles Willow had trapped them in these past hours. Those explosions back there was them throwing a temper tantrum and Willow teaching them how to behave."

After hearing this, Rain looked to Belen in confusion, "I won't be surprised if that was true, but whose child is she for her to be able to do that?"

Belen shook his head and turned to Aki who smirked mischeviously, "Who knows?"

Hearing this, Rain frowned but didn't say anything as Hannah looked to Belen, "Did you find any clues, maybe?"

"I'm afraid not." Belen responded as he leaved back in his seat on the red couch, "She's very secretive with her abilities because of the current situation. But, when she isn't, it makes me feel as though she is a descendant of Hecate, but she has a wider knowledge in Chinese mythology. I don't believe those guys would do that kind of thing on these foreign grounds."

Rain nodded in agreement, "Yeah. That wouldn't seem like something they would be willing to do. It would be different if we were in America where many cultures come together. But, Lia and I have never heard of such an occurrence before."

"Figures since celestial parents don't really stay around to raise their demigod infants." Aki yawned, "It's the same with my lord."

"Your lord?" Hannah raised a brow.

"Yup. I serve a god as their servant." Aki purred casually, "I got bored of it, though, and my lord, on an adventure."

"How did you become a familiar to Willow?" Hannah raised a brow in confusion, "I mean, you served a god figure, right?"

"That's because I got bored. So, I decided to go on an adventure with her." Aki responded with half honesty.

When Aki said this, Belen peered at the little cat feeling as though there was something more that he wasn't telling them, but, knowing his personality was too similar to his master, he didn't inquire further knowing that he wouldn't be able to get an answer anyway. He turned to Hannah and said, "I've talked with Willow about the situation and she's not willing to help you any further, but she's willing to take you out of Beijing. She said that you should come back to save your friends later because we aren't capable of infiltrating their base even if we're at a pretty good position at the moment."

Rain nodded with a sigh, "Because all that could change later on. I get it."

Hannah looked like she was going to rebuke but knew that if Rain agreed too, then Willow's decision wasn't in the wrong direction. So, she nodded in disappointment.

Rain grimaced, "I was hoping to save the others too, but, if we get them now, it'll turn into a disaster like that time back at the UN conference."

 "Disaster?" Belen raised a brow.

"It was one of the timelines that I went back from." Hannah sighed nervously, "At that time, Elijah succeeded and brainwashed everyone to kill each other. I was lucky to have traveled back before I became next but it was horrible..."

"That's really bad..." Belen noted not really sure what to say.

"And, how many times did you revert back time?" Aki flicked his ear and looked to her with a frown.

 "About two times." Hannah responded.

"I'd be more careful how many times you use it." Aki noted with a sigh as he went back to sleep, "Just a warning before you lose control."

At this point, Hannah was starting to become annoyed and Rain was growing more worried for Hannah. Hannah thought for a bit before she nodded, "How am I going to control something I can't use as often?"

"It's possible if you can find something that can hide your powers when you use your ability." Aki responded as he turned to Hannah.

"There's such a thing?" Rain's eyes widen in bewilderment when he heard this.

"Of course." Aki replied with a yawn as he wanted to row his eyes remembering Willow putting on the gloves in front of the guy so many times, "Demigods have been around since ancient times. There's always been a need for them to hide their abilities, so during World Wars, there's been development for items that could help mask whenever they use their abilities. If you search hard enough, you'll be able to figure out which items it is. They're in the museums."

"Which means we could've been able to freely use our abilities if we got the item." Rain responded but frowned, "However, we were on a time limit back then and barely had the time to train Grin and Hannah."

"Grin?" Aki raised a brow when he heard this.

"He's joined our group with Hannah around the same time." Rain responded, "We also had Mitra, who is one of our newer members, and Lia who I've been with since we were young."

 Aki yawned, "Great..."

"So we can only leave." Hannah pondered unwilling to leave her friends behind, "If only we can do something to at least get one of them back before we leave..."

Rain nodded, "I know what you mean, Hannah. But, if we go back now, they'll only catch all of us again. We might not be able to make it back again next time, then."

Hannah nodded before she frowned, "But, what are we going to do when we leave Beijing? We can't just rent a car again. Our only option would be to camp out and find another way to earn some money for food."

Belen frowned, "I'm thinking of traveling out of China."

"That's not going to be easy." Hannah shook her head, "There's borders for a reason. If they catch you, you could be charged for illegal trespassing and deported back to America where Serah's group will just catch you again just before you leave. They've already shot us out of our plan. Why can't they do that either? As for us, we can't leave without Lia and the others."

Rain nodded, "We're going to get an item that can help us hide our location when we use our ability."

"You should be able to tell when you come across it." Aki yawned before curling back up into a ball of fluff.

"So, how are we going to leave Beijing?" Hannah questioned, "I tried to search up the place we're at, but the cellphone Willow gave me can't pinpoint our location."

"She did that on purpose." Belen responded, "Because Serah would track us down much easier like that."

"This Serah only knows how to make our life more miserable..." Rain grumbled with a sigh.

Hannah nodded with a frown, "If we didn't have Willow to warn us in the beginning, we'd be fight against them already."

Rain looked at Hannah was a frown, "You don't really like her, huh?"

Hannah nodded, "Her words makes sense, so I trust and respect her. But, I don't really like her as a person. It's like we're two separate people."

Aki yawned, "It's normal when you have to live with the chances of being taken advantage of and all that since childhood. She's grown up in that environment. Living such a life, you have things you must keep secret or others will come after you seeking what you have like a thief crying out thief. Thus scandals and rumors are born for reasons."

"She's grown up that way?" Belen raised a brow, "I seem to recall that she said she lived in a town."

Akira shrugged quietly, "Those who stay silent and uses such roundabout ways of speaking usually have something that they want to hide. Those who don't or are unafraid of consequences of those secrets will act as though they still do just to surprise the world. Which side Willow is on, I won't know until later."
