"Say, after we get out of here, are we going to go after them?"
Emzlie asked while her head was resting on Mares' shoulders.
"Huh?"
She could not tell if he really did not understand her or if he was just acting like he did not.
"Asa and Era, I mean."
When she said it, it was subtle, but she could feel his shoulders tensing.
"What's the problem? I mean, if you don't mind telling me, I don't want to intrude too much."
Mares shook his head to show that was not the issue. He crossed his fingers and took a deep breath.
"I am a very different person right now. I… want to say it is our promise, but you know that's an excuse. They wouldn't have a way to find me on Earth after all. No, I am just scared of appearing in front of them like… like this."
